The Sunshine Coast Asian Food Festival returns to the tranquil grounds of Spicers Tamarind Retreat on Saturday March 19!
One destination worth trekking to for mouth-watering bites and fresh local produce is the Sunshine Coast’s serene getaway spot, Maleny. Boasting postcard-worthy surroundings, tastebud-tantalising produce and quaint country-town vibes, this hinterland haven plays host to the ever-popular Sunshine Coast Asian Food Festival, which is making its sizzling return in a few weeks time.
Taking place at Spicers Tamarind Retreat, this celebration of Eastern eats is set to be the perfect event for those craving a zesty culinary adventure (but not wanting to travel too far to get it). Dishing up a delectable selection of Asian street food and beverages, this day-long foodie fair will showcase a line-up of treats and exotic tastes inspired by the region, curated by The Tamarind’s highly acclaimed head chef, Daniel Jarrett. Combining sweet, sour and spicy flavours with the freshest local produce, the festival will take your tastebuds on a seriously tasty trip, as you meander from stall to stall. While indulging in these delicate delights, parched patrons will be able to enjoy spirited cocktails from local distilleries as well as sips from some of Australia’s top wineries. For the want-to-be master chefs among us, there will be cooking demonstrations hosted by talented Tamarind chefs and wine guru Peter Marchant will be hosting a riesling masterclass – so student sommeliers, bring a notepad!
