Subscribe to ABC Gardening Australia for your chance to WIN a Wedgwood prize pack worth $553.75!
To celebrate the launch of the film The Duke in cinemas on March 31, both new and extending subscribers have a chance to win one of these fabulous prize packs. Each pack contains five Wedgwood Wonderlust mugs, all fine bone china with gold leaf banding, and a double pass to see the film, starring Helen Mirren and Jim Broadbent. Inspired by the wonders of travelling through Europe and Asia, the eclectic designs on these large mugs depict exotic florals, plants and scenes from the different continents. The mugs are part of the broader Wonderlust collection, which also includes beautiful teacups and saucers, picture frames, gift bowls and gift trays.
The Duke is the true story of 60-year-old taxi driver Kempton Bunton (Broadbent), who stole Goya’s portrait of the Duke of Wellington from London’s National Gallery in 1961. In ransom notes, Kempton said he would return the painting if the government spent more on care for the elderly. Fifty years later, when the full story emerged, it appeared that Kempton had spun a web of lies. The only truth was that he was a good man, who was determined to change the world and save his marriage to Dorothy (Mirren). How and why he used the painting to achieve that is a wonderfully uplifting tale.
