The Last Five Years is an emotionally powerful and intimate musical by Jason Robert Brown about two New Yorkers in their 20s who fall in and out of love over the course of five years. This production is a fresh take on the “he said/she said” structure, using two different viewpoints to reminisce on the highs and lows of the relationship – Jamie tells his story in chronological order while Cathy shares hers in reverse. Their stories intersect only once during the show, at their wedding, making for a compelling and voyeuristic viewing experience as audiences witness a relationship from two different perspectives.
