On Sunday, July 10, teams from all over Australia compete in the World Championship Great Australian Dunny Race for the chance to win $5,000!
The famous race started way back in 1990 right here at Aussie World, Sunshine Coast! Originally the brainchild of Lindsay "Coop" Cooper and a few of the locals (over too many beers), this iconic race began with a few sheets of roofing tin and some bike wheels and ended up in the history books as one of the Sunshine Coast's most unique and enduring events.
Anyone can enter a team, and we'll supply the dunny!
To enter a team you'll need four runners to push the dunny and one jockey (to sit on the dunny). Competitors will race several heats over a 100m distance, with the top two teams in each heat progressing through to the next round.
Music, Food, Drink and Entertainment
Dunny races, live music and entertainment all day, craft beer, food trucks and so much more!
