Competition Terms and Conditions
By participating in this competition, you agree to the following terms and conditions:
Competition details
1. The promoter of this competition is the Greater Geelong City Council, 30 Gheringhap Street, Geelong VIC 3220, ABN 18 374 210 672 (City).
2. The competition opens at 9am on Friday 8 July 2022 and the competition closes at 12pm on Monday 15 August 2022.
3. Entries received after the closing time and date will be deemed ineligible.
Entries
4. Entry is open to Victorian residents over 18 years of age or under 18 years of age with parent or guardian consent.
5. By entering this competition, you warrant to the City that you are eligible to enter this competition based on these terms and conditions.
6. Entry into the competition is deemed acceptance of these terms and conditions. If you do not agree with any part of these terms and conditions you should not enter the competition or accept any prize resulting from entry into the competition.
7. Employees of the City of Greater Geelong are eligible for this competition.
8. Employees and their immediate families of the City’s Marketing Unit and Corporate Affairs Department and those directly involved with this competition are ineligible to enter.
9. The City reserves the right, at any time, to verify the validity of entries and to disqualify any entrant who tampers with the entry process or who submits an entry that is not in accordance with these terms and conditions. Failure by the City to enforce any of its rights at any stage does not constitute a waiver of those rights.
10. To enter this competition, you must subscribe to the Rethink Your Rubbish newsletter using the form on this page, and remain subscribed until the competition is judged on 31 August 2022.
Prizes
11. The prize is one Yard Art Pet Poo Composter with 2000 worms, valued at $288.
12. Prizes are not transferable, exchangeable or redeemable for cash.
13. Unless otherwise stated, all costs incurred by a winner to accept or use the prize are the responsibility of the winner.
Prize draw
14. The prize draw will take place at the City’s office at 30 Gheringhap Street, Geelong.
15. Prize winners will be drawn as follows: 10am on Wednesday 31 August 2022.
16. The method of drawing will be random and each entrant will have an equal chance of being drawn.
17. The first subscribed entrant drawn will be the winner. This decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
18. The winner will be notified by phone and email.
19. Prizes must be collected by the winner within 14 days of notification.
20. A prize will be deemed unclaimed if the City, despite using reasonable efforts, is not able to contact or organise collection of the prize in accordance with conditions 18 and 19 above.
21. If this competition is interfered with in any way, or is not capable of being conducted as reasonably anticipated, due to any reason beyond the reasonable control of the City, the City reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to the fullest extent permitted by law:
a. to disqualify any entrant or
b. to modify, suspend, terminate or cancel the competition, as appropriate.
Disclaimer
The City (including its officers, employees and agents) excludes all liability (including negligence) for any personal injury or any loss or damage (including loss of opportunity) whether direct, indirect, special or consequential, arising in any way out of the competition, including but not limited to, the following:
22. Any technical difficulties or equipment malfunction (whether or not under the City’s control);
23. Any theft, unauthorised access or third-party interference;
24. Any entry, prize or claim for a prize that is late, lost, altered, damaged or misdirected (whether before or after receipt by the City) due to any reason beyond the reasonable control of the City;
25. Any variation in prize value from that stated in these terms and conditions;
26. Any tax liability (including FBT) incurred by an entrant or winner, or;
27. Use of the prize.

28. Privacy notice: The City of Greater Geelong collects the personal information in your entry for the purpose of conducting this competition and communicating about Christmas in Geelong. This information is collected and handled in accordance with the City’s Privacy Policy which is also available at our Customer Service Centres.
