Allianz – Terms and Conditions for the Paris New and Renewing Customers Prize Draw Competition (“Promotion”)
Information on how to enter the Promotion and the prizes form part of these Terms and Conditions. Participation in this Promotion is deemed acceptance of these Terms and Conditions (“Terms and Conditions”).
The Promotion commences on 11 January 2024 and closes at 11.59 PM on 7 March 2024 (“Promotion Period”). All references to times recorded throughout these Terms and Conditions are a reference to the local time in Sydney, New South Wales.
The promoter is Allianz Australia Insurance Limited (ABN 15 000 122 850) of 10 Carrington Street Sydney NSW 2000 (“Promoter”).
Entry into the Promotion is only open to Australian residents aged 18 years or over (“Eligible Customer” or “entrant”).
Employees (and their immediate families) of the Promoter and its subsidiaries, and employees of agencies associated with this Promotion, are ineligible to enter the Promotion. Immediate family means any of the following: spouse, ex-spouse, de-facto spouse, child or step-child (whether natural or by adoption), parent, step-parent, grandparent, step-grandparent, uncle, aunt, niece, nephew, brother, sister, step-brother, step-sister or first cousin.
The Promoter reserves the right to verify the eligibility of each entrant (including their identity, age and place of residence) and the validity of each entry and to disqualify any person who the Promoter has reason to believe has breached any of these Terms and Conditions, tampered with the entry process or engaged in any unlawful or other improper misconduct calculated to jeopardise fair and proper conduct of this Promotion. Further, any contact details provided incorrectly may be deemed by the Promoter as an invalid entry. Errors and omissions may be accepted at the Promoter’s sole discretion. Failure by the Promoter to enforce any of its rights at any stage does not constitute a waiver of those rights. The Promoter’s legal rights to recover damages or other compensation from such an offender are reserved.
If there is a dispute as to the identity of an Eligible Customer, the Promoter reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to determine the identity of the Eligible Customer.
For the purposes of this Promotion, the term “Eligible Policy” means:
An Allianz Home (Contents, Building or Home and Contents) Insurance policy; or
An Allianz Car (Comprehensive, Third Party Property Damage, Premier Motor or Motor) Insurance policy.
For the avoidance of doubt an Eligible Policy includes one of the insurance policies above, underwritten by Allianz and purchased:
via Allianz directly, or
From a Financial Institution or Automotive partner where the Eligible Policy has been issued by the Promoter, which includes: (i) banks, mutuals and mortgage brokers; and (ii) dealerships, motor manufacturers and fleet providers
Landlord Insurance and Compulsory Third Party (CTP) Insurance are excluded from this Promotion. Variations to existing policies are also excluded from this Promotion.
Entry into the Promotion is automatic when, during the Promotion Period, an Eligible Customer purchases or renews an Eligible Policy through Allianz directly, a Financial Institution partner, or an Automotive partner. The Eligible Policy will be deemed purchased or renewed when the Promoter receives full payment of the annual policy premium or the first instalment of premium if paying by the month. For the entry to be and remain valid, the Eligible Policy must not be lapsed or cancelled at the time the prizes are drawn. An Eligible Customer shall receive one (1) automatic entry into the relevant draw for each Eligible Policy purchased or renewed by them during the Promotion Period. Individuals that do not wish to participate in the Promotion can contact the Promoter directly or complete a Contact Form online.
Only one (1) prize is permitted per person (excluding SA residents).
The draw will take place at Anisimoff Legal, 3 Amy Close, Wyong NSW 2259 on 26 March 2024 at 11:00 AM AEDT. The Promoter may draw additional reserve entries in each draw and record them in order in case an invalid entry or ineligible entrant is drawn. Winners will be notified in writing and by telephone within two (2) business days of the draw, and their names will be published online on 28 March 2024.
The first valid entry drawn will win a trip for two (2) people to the Olympic Games Paris 2024 valued at up to AUD$44,750 depending on date and point of departure. Prize includes:

The second valid entry drawn will win a trip for two (2) people to the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games valued at up to AUD$30,700 depending on date and point of departure. Prize includes:
Two (2) x return economy airfares from winner's nearest Australian capital city to Paris, France;
A total of seven (7) nights accommodation in Paris (minimum 4 star);
Category A tickets to Opening Ceremony, Para Taekwondo and Wheelchair Basketball;
Return airport to hotel transfers and return hotel to Games transportation;
Allianz Comprehensive Travel insurance (subject to clause 16-18)*; and
AUD$4,000 spending money for the winner only.
Additional spending money, meals, taxes (excluding airline and airport taxes), insurance, passports, visas, vaccinations, transport to and from departure point, transfers, items of a personal nature, in-room charges and all other ancillary costs are not included. Prize must be taken to coincide with either the Olympic Games or the Paralympic Games (depending on the prize awarded) and is subject to booking and flight availability. Travel Dates for Olympic Games will be between 31 July and 9 August 2024 and Travel Dates for Paralympic Games will be between 26 August and 4 September 2024.
Winners and their companions are responsible for ensuring that they have valid passports, and any requisite visas, vaccinations, and travel documentation. Winners and their companions must depart from and return to the same departure point and travel together. Itinerary to be determined by the Promoter in its absolute discretion. Frequent flyer points will not form part of the prize. Prize is subject to the standard terms and conditions of individual prize and service providers. Winners may be required to present their credit card at time of accommodation check in.
* Travel insurance is issued and managed by AWP Australia Pty Ltd (ABN 52 097 227 177 AFSL 245631) of 310 Ann Street, Brisbane QLD 4000 trading as Allianz Global Assistance (“AGA”) as agent for the Promoter. Winners and their companions will receive an Allianz Comprehensive Travel Insurance Policy issued by AGA (subject to terms, conditions, limits, exclusions and eligibility criteria contained in the Allianz Travel Insurance Product Disclosure Statement).Pre-existing medical condition cover will be subject to application and acceptance by AGA. A Non-Medical policy may be offered to the winner/s or companion/s if they are denied medical cover due to a pre-existing medical condition.
The winner/s or their companion/s forfeit any rights or entitlements to the travel insurance element of the prize if they fail to honestly, accurately, and to the best of their knowledge, answer all questions relevant at the time of applying for a travel insurance policy, applying for pre-existing medical condition cover or when making a claim. Any claims that occur during the period of insurance are subject to policy terms, conditions, limits, exclusions and applicable sub-limits contained in the Product Disclosure Statement.
The travel insurance element of the prize is only available to winner/s and their companion/s who apply for a policy, and AGA agrees to insure them, before 11:59 PM (AEST) 31 May 2024 by contacting AGA on 13 1000.
The Olympic and Paralympic Games 2024 ticket prizes are subject to the event venue and ticket terms and conditions, including any applicable age restriction. The Promoter and event organisers hereby expressly reserve the right to eject any winner (and/or his/her companion/s) for any inappropriate behaviour, including but not limited to intoxication, whilst participating in any element of the prize.
The total value of the prizes to be awarded in this Promotion is up to $75,450.
The Promoter’s decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
If a prize winner wishes to claim their prize, they must contact the Promoter by the prize claim date/time as specified by the Promoter at the time of winner notification. If a prize winner fails to claim their prize by this time and date, the prize winner will be deemed to have forfeited the prize.
If any prize (or part of any prize) is unavailable, the Promoter, in its discretion, reserves the right to substitute the prize (or that part of the prize) with a prize to the equal value and/or specification, subject to any written directions from a regulatory authority.
If a prize winner forfeits the prize or a prize remains unclaimed, the Promoter will conduct a redraw, subject to any directions from a regulatory authority, following the same procedure as the original draw. Redraw will take place at 11 AM AEST on 26 April 2024, at the same place as the original draw. The prize winners, if any, will be notified in writing and by telephone within two (2) business days of the draw and their name/s will be published online on 30 April 2024. If a prize winner fails to claim their prize by the date reasonably specified to them by the Promoter, the prize winner will be deemed to have forfeited the prize.
In the event of war, terrorism, state of emergency, government lockdown, pandemic, or any other kind of disaster or unforeseeable event beyond the Promoter’s reasonable control, the Promoter reserves the right to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the promotion or suspend, substitute or modify a prize, subject to any written directions from a relevant regulatory authority.
If for any reason any aspect of this Promotion is not capable of running as planned, including by reason of computer virus, communications network failure, bugs, tampering, unauthorised intervention, fraud, technical failure or any cause beyond the control of the Promoter, the Promoter may in its sole discretion, to the fullest extent permitted by law: (a) disqualify any entrant; or (b) cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the Promotion and invalidate any affected entries, or suspend or modify a prize, subject to State or Territory regulation.
The prizes are not transferrable or exchangeable and cannot be taken as cash, unless otherwise specified. In the event of a dispute, the decision of the Promoter is final, and binding and no correspondence will be entered into.
Each entrant consents to the Promoter using their name, likeness, image and/or voice in the event they are a winner (including photograph, film and/or recording of the same) in any media for an unlimited period without remuneration for the purpose of promoting this promotion (including any outcome), and promoting any products manufactured, distributed and/or supplied by the Promoter.
To the fullest extent permissible by law, each entrant in the Promotion and each prize winner releases the Promoter from any claim, loss, damage, expense (including any claim for legal expenses), cost or charge sustained or in any way incurred by them in connection with the prize or their participation in the Promotion. The Promoter, its related bodies corporate, officers, employees and agents will not be liable for any loss, damage or personal injury whatsoever (including but not limited to direct, indirect, consequential or economic loss) suffered or sustained by an entrant or the prize winner in connection with this Promotion, the promotion of this Promotion, or the use of or participation in any prize, except for any liability which cannot be excluded by law. Further, to the fullest extent permitted by law, the Promoter excludes liability for any problems or technical malfunction of any telephone network or lines, computer online systems, servers, or providers, computer equipment, software, technical problems or traffic congestion on the Internet or any website, or any unauthorised intervention, or any combination thereof, including any non-delivery or corruption of entries to the Promoter, injury or damage to an entrant’s or any other person’s computer related to or resulting from participation in or down-loading any materials related to this Promotion. The use of any automated entry software or any other mechanical or electronic means that allows an entrant to automatically enter into the draw repeatedly is prohibited and will render all entries submitted by that entrant invalid.
Liability for any tax (other than fringe benefits tax) arising out of participation in this Promotion (including acceptance of a prize) is the sole responsibility of the entrant. Entrants should seek independent financial advice in this regard.
Nothing in these Terms and Conditions limits, excludes, or modifies, or purports to limit, exclude or modify the statutory consumer guarantees as provided under the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 (Cth), as well as any other implied warranties under the Australian Securities and Investments Commission Act 2001 (Cth) or similar consumer protection laws in the State and Territories of Australia (“Non-Excludable Guarantees”). Except for any liability that cannot by law be excluded, including the Non-Excludable Guarantees, the Promoter (including its respective officers, employees and agents) is not responsible for and excludes all liability (including negligence), for any personal injury; or any loss or damage (including loss of opportunity); whether direct, indirect, special or consequential, arising in any way out of: (a) any technical difficulties or equipment malfunction (whether or not under the Promoter’s control); (b) any theft, unauthorised access or third party interference; (c) any entry or prize claim that is late, lost, altered, damaged or misdirected (whether or not after their receipt by the Promoter) due to any reason beyond the reasonable control of the Promoter; (d) any variation in prize value to that stated in these Terms and Conditions; (e) if the Olympics or Paralympics event/s are delayed, postponed or cancelled for any reason beyond the reasonable control of the Promoter (f) any tax liability incurred by a prize winner or an entrant; or (g) use of a prize.
As a condition of accepting the prize, the prize winner must sign any legal documentation as and in the form required by the Promoter and/or prize suppliers in their absolute discretion, including but not limited to a legal release and indemnity form.
Privacy Notice: Entry is conditional on providing the requested personal information. By entering this Promotion, each entrant consents to the retention, use and disclosure of their personal information by the Promoter in the following ways:
for the purposes of conducting the Promotion and any matter connected to the Promotion.
if the entrant is a prize winner in this Promotion, for publicity purposes in any media for an unlimited period without remuneration, compensation or prior notice to the entrant.
in addition to any use that may be outlined above, sending the entrant publications and communications about events, promotions, products and services. This includes distributing marketing material for goods and services offered by the Promoter, its related bodies corporate and businesses which have arrangements with the Promoter or its related bodies corporate. Each entrant agrees that communications may be sent to them by post, email and SMS.
The Promoter may disclose personal information to third parties for the above purposes, including but not limited to agents, contractors, service providers, prize suppliers and, as required, to Australian regulatory authorities for the purpose of conducting this Promotion and sending offers and information to each entrant. The Promoter will also share the details of the winners and their companions with the prize fulfilment agency, travel agency as well as Allianz Group for the purposes of fulfilling the prize. This will mean that the details of the winners and their companions may be shared overseas for the purposes of flights and accommodation etc. and cannot guarantee that any overseas recipient will not breach the Australian Privacy Principles. By entering the promotion, entrants consent to the overseas transfer on these terms as permitted by the Australian Privacy Principles and agree that the Promoter is not liable in this regard.
