IKEA Family com(pet)ition time

It’s com(pet)ition time – and this one’s for the furry family members.

Simply submit a photo of your pet – and you’ll get the chance to win over a hundred prizes on offer. The competition is open until 5 June and we're looking for the most cute, honest and simple entry.

There’s a hundred $50 gift cards, 10 IKEA curated pet care packages, and an extra special $300 gift card and digital prize up for grabs.

Terms and Conditions:

1. Promoter: The Promoter is IKEA Pty Limited (ABN 84 006 270 757) of 630 Princes Highway, Tempe NSW 2044 (IKEA, we, us and our).
2. Promotion: These terms and conditions (Terms) govern the IKEA Family Com(pet)ition (Promotion). Information on how to enter and prizes form part of these Terms. Any entry not complying with these Terms is invalid. Entry into the Promotion is deemed to be an acceptance of these Terms.
3. Eligibility: Entry into the Promotion is open to Australian residents who are:
(a) 18 years of age or over;
(b) members of IKEA Family; and
(c) not directors, management and employees of the Promoter and its related companies and agencies.

The Eligible Participant’s IKEA Family profile must be active, and not suspended or deleted, otherwise the entry into the Promotion will be deemed ineligible. Whilst entry into the Promotion is not open to directors, management and employees of the Promoter, the immediate family members of employees are eligible to enter.

4. Promotion Period: The Promotion commences at 09.00am (AEST) on 21 May 2024 and closes at 09.00pm (AEST) on 5 June 2024.

5. Game of skill: This Promotion is a game of skill competition.

6. How to enter: To be eligible for entry into the Promotion, each Eligible Participant must, during the Promotion Period:
(a) access the Promotion webpage;
(b) enter the email address which is linked to their IKEA Family membership;
(c) select their preferred IKEA store from the following stores: IKEA Adelaide, IKEA Canberra,
IKEA Perth, IKEA Logan, IKEA Marsden Park, IKEA North Lakes, IKEA Rhodes, IKEA Richmond,
IKEA Springvale and IKEA Tempe (each a Preferred IKEA Store);
(d) submit a photograph of their pet (Photograph); and
(e) click the “submit” button.
The file size of the Photograph must not exceed 50 megabytes. Photographs must not include:
(f) images of humans (whether in whole or part);
(g) images of branded products which are not IKEA products or images of competitor products
(being other home furnishings or furniture products); or
(h) images of IKEA products being used in an unsafe or offensive manner.
Eligible Participants may also submit 25 words to describe their pet (Written Submission). Submitting a Written Submission is optional. Each Photograph and any Written Submission submitted by Eligible Participants into the Promotion must be the original work of the Eligible Participant. Entry is conditional on each Eligible Participant owning all intellectual property right in their Photograph (other than intellectual property rights owned by IKEA) and Written Submission.
7. Entry conditions: Entry is conditional on the Eligible Participant providing true and correct personal information to the Promoter. Only one entry is allowed per Eligible Participant. Each Eligible Participant who enters into the Promotion is an Entrant of the Promotion. The Promoter will not be responsible for any entries which are misdirected, late or lost because of network congestion, technical disruptions or any other reason. The time that an entry will be deemed to be submitted will be the time that the Promoter receives that entry.
8. Content of Entries: Eligible Entrants must not upload or submit Photographs or written Submissions that contain or promote sexually explicit material, hateful, offensive, defamatory or discriminatory material, any material depicting or promoting animal cruelty or any content that in the opinion of IKEA would cause harm to its business interests or reputation, portray IKEA in a negative manner or otherwise be contrary to the law.
9. Verification and disqualification: The Promoter reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to:
(a) verify the validity of Entrants;
(b) verify the validity of entries; and
(c) disqualify any Entrant for tampering with the entry process or submitting an entry that is not
in accordance with these Terms.
10. Selection: On 7 June 2024 at the offices of the Promoter, a judge who is an employee of the Promoter will select:
(a) the best entry from all valid entries received in the Promotion (irrespective of which Preferred IKEA Store has been selected by entrants) (Overall Winner);
(b) following selection of the Overall Winner of the Promotion (in accordance with clause 10(a) above), all remaining entries into the Promotion will be divided into judging pools based on the IKEA Preferred Store indicated in the Entry Form. The best entry from the judging pool for each Preferred IKEA Store will be selected (IKEA Store Winners); and
(c) the 100 next best entries from the remaining valid entries received in the Promotion (Further Winners);
(each of the Overall Winner, the IKEA Store Winners and the Further Winners will be a Winning Entry and together will be referred to as the Winning Entries).
Following the selection of the Winning Entries, the 15 next best entries from the remaining valid entries received in the Promotion (each a Reserve Entry and together the Reserve Entries) will be judged and the names recorded in order of judging.
11. Judging Criteria: Entries will be judged based on cuteness, simplicity, honesty of the pet Photograph and any Written Submission. Eligible Participants that submitted the Winning Entries (each a Winner, and together the Winners) will receive a Prize. The judge will have sole discretion to choose the Winning Entries and Reserve Entries and to choose which Prize each Winner will receive. No correspondence will be entered into in respect of any decision made in connection with this Promotion.
12. Prize: The prizes available in the Promotion will be awarded as follows:
(a) the Overall Winner will receive 1 x $300 digital IKEA gift card and a “digital surprise”. The
digital surprise is a smart phone wallpaper displaying an edited version of the Photograph submitted by the Winner of this Prize. The Photograph will be edited by IKEA’s in-house publication specialist to include additional creative elements and to fit smart phone specifications. The total value of this prize is $300 (plus the digital surprise which has no retail value)
(d) the 10 IKEA Store Winners will each receive an IKEA Pet Care package comprising selected IKEA products for use in connection with your pet, including products from the UTSADD range (for example a pet bowl, place mat for the pet bowl, pet bed, cat house etc), together with other IKEA products, and a printed copy of their Photograph framed in the IKEA Frame. The total value of each package is $184 (Pet Care Package Prize). A total of ten (10) Pet Care Prize Packages will be available to be won in the Promotion (1 per IKEA Preferred Store). The total value of the 10 prizes is $1,840; or
(b) the Further Winners will each receive 1 x IKEA digital gift card valued at $50 each (100 in total). The total value of this prize is $5,000, (each a Prize, and together the Prizes).
The total value of the Prizes is $7,140, which is correct at the time of publication. The Promoter takes no responsibility for any variation in any element of each Prize. The Prizes are not transferable. No Prize may be refunded for cash, exchanged or transferred unless agreed to by the Promoter. Each Prize must be taken as described and no compensation will be payable if the Winner is unable to use a Prize as stated. There will only be one Winner of the Pet Care Package Prize per Preferred IKEA store.
13. IKEA digital gift cards: The IKEA digital gift cards are valid for 3 years from the initial date of issue. Each gift card can be used as full or partial payment on purchases in IKEA stores, including food, and for purchase made online with IKEA on our IKEA website (IKEA.com.au). No cash change will be given on purchases made using a gift card. IKEA is unable to replace the gift card if the card is lost or stolen. Treat your gift card as cash. The terms and conditions of IKEA digital gift cards will apply to this prize.
14. Terms of each Prize: If any portion of any Prize is unavailable, for whatever reason, IKEA reserves the right to substitute that Prize, or any element of that Prize, for an element of similar theme and of equal value, subject to any legal requirements and regulatory approval (if required).
15. Notification of Winners: Each Winner will be notified by email, within 3 business days of their selection, using that Winner’s details included on their IKEA Family membership. Entrants must ensure their details are up to date throughout the Promotion Period. IKEA will not be responsible if the personal details of a Winner are not correct. It is the responsibility of each Winner to check their junk/spam mailboxes to ensure they receive the instructions on how to claim their Prize. Winners of the Pet Care Package Prize must claim and collect their Prize in-store at their IKEA Preferred Store . Each Winner of the Pet Care Package Prize must claim and collect their Prize no later than 17:00 AEST on 27 June 2024. 16. Publication: The details of each Winner will be published online from 13 June 2024 for a period of 28 days. The Photographs submitted by the Winners may be:
(a) displayed on IKEA’s website;
(b) printed and displayed at IKEA stores within Australia; and
(c) promoted on IKEA’s (and its related entities’) social media platforms and used in marketing communications and campaigns, in all media including online, in social media, print media and billboards, through electronic direct marketing and in other advertising materials.
17. Unclaimed Prizes: If any Prizes remain unclaimed or forfeited through ineligibility or otherwise by 28 June 2024, IKEA will award any unclaimed or forfeited prizes to the entries selected as the Reserve Entries, in the order in which those Reserve Entries were judged. If, for example, 3 Winners are unable to be contacted or do not claim their prize, the first 3 Reserve Entries will be allocated the remaining prizes. The Winner(s), if any, will be notified by email, within 3 business days of their selection and their details will be published from 5 July 2024 for a period of 28 days. 18. Limitation of liability: IKEA is not liable for any loss or damage whatsoever which is suffered, including but not limited to indirect or consequential loss, or for personal injury suffered or sustained in connection with or arising out of:
(a) any technical difficulties or equipment malfunction (whether or not under IKEA’s (or its representatives’) control);
(b) any theft, unauthorised access or third-party interference;
(c) any entry or Prize claim that is late, lost, altered, damaged or misdirected (whether or not
after their receipt by IKEA) due to any reason beyond the reasonable control of IKEA;
(d) any variation in Prize value to that stated in these Terms;
(e) any tax liability incurred by the Winner(s) or Entrant(s); or
(f) use of the Prizes,
except for any liability which cannot be excluded by law. This clause does not apply to the extent such loss or damages were caused directly by IKEA’s negligence or wilful omission. Nothing in these terms and conditions limits, excludes or modifies or purports to limit, exclude or modify the statutory consumer guarantees and any implied warranties contained in the Commonwealth and applicable State and Territory consumer protection laws.
19. Social media platforms: Neither Tik Tok nor Instagram sponsor, endorse or administer this Promotion. Neither Tik Tok nor Instagram are associated with this Promotion. Any questions or comments in relation to the Promotion are to be directed to the Promoter and not to TikTok or Instagram.
20. Licence to use Entries : Each Winner grants to IKEA an exclusive, royalty-free, sub-licensable right to:
(a) use their Photograph and Written Submission (if any), their personal information and their user-generated content for the Promotion (including words, images, illustrations, photographs, data, information) (Content) for publicity, promotional, marketing, communication, research, profiling and commercial purposes, without compensation;
(b) redesign, archive, reproduce, disseminate, display, publicly perform and replay and make publicly accessible their Photograph and Content; and
(c) cut and edit, adapt, modify and manipulate their Photograph and Content and any part of their Photograph and Content in all formats on all of IKEA’s (and its related entities’) mobile applications, websites, social media or other marketing channels;
without attribution to the Winner, for the period of 12 months from the notification to the Winner that they have won a Prize in the Promotion. If requested, each Winner will sign any additional documents to give effect to the licence granted to IKEA in this clause 20.
21. Force majeure: If for any reason this Promotion is not capable of running as planned (whether caused by infection by computer virus, line drop out, bugs, tampering, unauthorised intervention, fraud, technical failures or any other cause beyond the control of IKEA which corrupts or affects the administration, security, fairness or integrity of the Promotion), IKEA reserves the right in its sole discretion (subject to any written direction given by a relevant regulatory authority), to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the Promotion.
22. Personal information and privacy: IKEA collects personal information (including the name and suburb of each Entrant) in order to conduct the Promotion and may, for this purpose disclose such information to third parties, including but not limited to agents, contractors, service providers, Prize suppliers and, as required, to Australian regulatory authorities. Entry is conditional on providing this information. IKEA may use the information for promotional, marketing, publicity, research and profiling purposes, including sending electronic messages or telephoning the Entrant. Entrants should direct any request to access, update or correct information to IKEA. If personal information is not provided, IKEA will not be able to process your entry into the Promotion.
