We know you love books, read widely and love to share great books with friends and family.

Now Good Reading is offering you an opportunity to read books before they hit the shelves.

Join our early bird program and have access to new books before anyone else.

(Note: only open to Australian residents currently)

Cornwall, 1628. A young girl guards a dangerous secret: she can leave her body and fly. Steeped in herbal lore and forbidden spells, the girl becomes a woman, while across the land whispers of witchcraft turn deadly.

When witchfinder Matthew Hopkins sets out to hunt her down, their meeting will change the course of history. In a world that fears what it cannot explain, a story shared is the most potent magic of all.

‘Barry writes with the soul of the Cornish landscape and language infusing her blood and her pen. Beautiful and entrancing.’ Robyn Cadwallader

‘Eloquent and wise, like its compelling narrator, this is one of the finest historical novels I have read.’ Amanda Curtin

What do you need to know if you are selected?

If you’ve been selected, you will be notified by email of your success!
In return for the book we ask you to send us a review. We’ll email you information including a deadline and some tips on writing a review.
An early bird advance reader’s copy of the book will be sent to your postal address direct from the publisher.
Once you have the book in hand, you have three weeks to read the book and write the review. Note: reviews may be edited for clarification.
Please email your review to our Early Bird coordinator HERE.

The Finer Details

We will publish all the reviews from Early Bird readers on our website and selected reviews on our social media. We will also provide your review to the publisher of the book so they receive your feedback. They may use these for promotional purposes if they wish.
Good Reading and the publishers will never share your details. Only your first name, your suburb and state will appear with your review
If you receive an Early Bird book and do not return a review more than twice then you will not be able to apply for Early Bird copies again
Go for it, give it a tweet!
