BRIDE TO BE 'BRIDE OF THE YEAR' COMPETITION 2010
TERMS & CONDITIONS

   1. Information on how to enter form part of the terms and conditions of entry. This is a game of skill and chance plays no part in determining the winners.
   2. Entry is open to all permanent residents of Australia and New Zealand. Employees and their immediate families of Pacific Magazines and their agencies and companies associated with the promotion are ineligible.
   3. There are two parts to the competition.

         1. PART ONE - Eligible participants will be required to register their details at www.bridetobe.com.au by providing their own name, daytime telephone number, email address, age, 3-5 wedding photos including one full length gown photo, close up of the bride and a bride & groom photo and tell us in 50 words or less 'Why you and your wedding truly embody the spirit of Bride to Be magazine' to complete their entry. Up to 30 monthly qualifiers will then be selected by The Promoter. The 30 qualifiers will then be entered for a monthly vote and the winning entrant will be determined by the highest number of votes received. Voting is open to the public and can be accessed at www.bridetobe.com.au.

         2. PART TWO - The eleven monthly winners will then be automatically entered into a final round of voting to determine the major prize winner. Voting is open to the public and can be accessed at www.bridetobe.com.au. The final voting period is from 1 February 2011 at 00:01 to 28 February 2011. The major winner will be determined by the entrant with the highest number of votes. Winner announced on Monday 1 March 2011.
   4. For all submissions, the featured Bride and wedding must have taken place between Jan 1, 2009 and Dec 31 2010.
   5. The dates as stated in clause 3.1 and 3.2 are subject to change due to production and deadline schedules.
   6.. Pictures/photographs must be less than 2MB in size
   7. Entrants agree not to submit my photos and story to other wedding websites or magazines during the duration of this competition.
   8. Entrants must be 18 years or older to enter the promotion.
   9. Only one entry per bride can be submitted.
  10. Voters can only register one vote per bride each hour of each day during the relevant voting period. Votes generated by any form of automation or computer program will not be accepted. The Promotor at it's sole discretion may remove any votes it deems to be illegitimate.
  11. The promoter reserves the right to request the winner to provide proof of identity, proof of age and proof of residency at the nominated prize delivery address. Identification considered suitable for verification is at the discretion of the promoter.
  12. The total prize value is up to $22,800. Prizes and values are as follows:
      Monthly Prizes
          * 11 x $250 David Jones vouchers - totalling $2,750

      Major Prize
          * Editorial Feature in Bride to Be Magazine, valued at $200.
          * Adored and Silver Ring and Necklace from Kailis Pearls, valued at $8,050:
            Black Adored Ring, valued at $7,400

            Geometric Necklace, valued at $650
          * Second honeymoon for two with Elegant Resorts & Villas valued at up to $11,000:
                o 7 Night Tahiti & Bora Bora Second Honeymoon;
                o First & Last Night Accommodation in Tahiti;
                o Five Nights accommodation at the St Regis Resort, Bora Bora in an Overwater Bungalow;
                o Breakfast Daily in Bora Bora;
                o Return economy airfares from either Sydney or Auckland to Papeete and Bora Bora;
                o Return transfers between airport and hotels in Tahiti & Bora Bora.
                o $1,000 spending money,
  13. For any cash prizes your name on your entry must be that of an eligible bank account to which a cheque can be cashed. The Promoter makes all reasonable efforts to send cheques in the names as specified in the original entry. Winning entries with only a family name or reference to a family as the entrant cannot be cashed by banks.
  14. The Promoter is not responsible for any acts of god, such as adverse weather conditions or industrial action or civil commotion that may occur whilst the winner is travelling. Accommodation is twin share standard room. Travel arrangements to and from the winner s home and Sydney do not form part of the prize and are the responsibility of the winner and their travelling companion. The winner must travel on the same flights and itinerary as their travelling companion. The travel prize cannot be used as part payment for another airfare package. Frequent flyer miles cannot be accrued on this prize. Flights and accommodation are subject to availability at the time of booking and cannot be exchanged for other destinations. Travel restrictions & blackout dates apply. Prizes cannot be taken during peak periods or school holidays, and the winners must provide all suppliers with a minimum of 30 days advance notice of intention to travel. Embargo restrictions apply during certain periods. Bookings are subject to all suppliers booking conditions & availability (including but not limited to capacity limitations and other restrictions. The Promoter does not guarantee that the winner will enjoy the travel prize or be suited to the type of travel prize that is offered.
  15. The flights are non-redeemable for cash. All taxes, surcharges and levies are the responsibility of the Beneficiary and must be paid out at the time of booking. Travel is on confirmed space (i.e. you will not be bumped off the flight) but it is still subject to seat availability at the time of booking. Tickets are non transferable. Flights cannot be taken during peak travel periods. Bookings shall be made via Elegant Resorts and Villas by email.
  16. Flights and accommodation are valid until the 30th November 2011. In the event that for any reason whatsoever a winner does not take an element of the prize at the time stipulated by the Promoter then that element of the prize will be forfeited by the winner and cash will not be awarded in lieu of that element of the prize.
  17. Unless expressly stated in these terms and conditions all other expenses are the responsibility of the winners (and their companions) including but not limited to current passports, visas, meals, spending money, transport to and from departure and arrival points, transfers, drinks, incidentals, mini-bar, laundry, room service, telephone calls, activities, airport taxes (including departure taxes), energy surcharges, gratuities, services charges, travel insurance, pre and post accommodation, optional activities or excursions and all other ancillary costs All taxes (excluding GST and taxes included in the price of the tickets) which may be payable as a consequence of receiving the prize(s) are the sole responsibility of the winner. A credit card imprint or cash deposit may be required from the winner at check-in to the hotel, for all incidental charges. Holidays are subject to flight and booking availabilities.
  18. By entering the competition, and by collecting a prize, the winner acknowledges and accepts that driving, travel and any other activities comprising the prize, are inherently dangerous and may result in death, injury, incapacity, damage to property or other losses. The winner, for themselves and their executors, releases the Promoter, its agents, officers and employees, from any and all legal claims in connection with any death, injury, incapacity, damage to property or other losses arising from or connected with the collection or enjoyment of the prize.
  19. Compliance with any health or other government requirements is the responsibility of the prize winner and their travel companion. It is the responsibility of the prize-winner to enquire about local issues and conditions at destinations prior to travel. All prize travel will be subject to the carriers General Conditions of Carriage. The Promoter and carrier make no representation as to the safety, conditions or other issues that may exist at any destination. International travel advice can be obtained from various sources, including local government, local consular offices and the web site of the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade at www.smartraveller.gov.au. Prizes for travel for a particular event or attraction must be taken to coincide with the event or the times and dates during which the attraction is available.
  20. The Promoter reserves the right to refuse to allow a winner to take part in any or all aspects of the prize, if the Promoter determines, in their absolute discretion, that a winner is not in the mental or physical condition necessary to be able to safely participate in the prize. It is a condition of accepting the prize that the winner may be required to sign a legal release in a form determined by the Promoter in its absolute discretion.
  21. Once prizes have left the Promoter s premises, the Promoter takes no responsibility for prizes damaged, delayed or lost in transit. The Promoter, and their related bodies corporate and their respective officers, employees, contractors and agents shall not be liable for any loss, damage or personal injury whatsoever (including but not limited to direct, indirect and consequential loss, and loss arising from negligence) suffered or sustained in connection with the promotion, the promotion of this promotion or the use of any prize, except for any liability which cannot be excluded by law.
  22. Prize values are based upon the recommended retail prices at the time of printing (inclusive of GST). The promoter accepts no responsibility for change in prize value between now and the ultimate prize redemption date.
  23. Pacific Magazines makes no representation as to the safety, conditions or other issues that may exist at any destination. International travel advice can be obtained from various sources, including government, local consular offices and the web site of the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade.
  24. Judging of the entries will commence following the offline registration dates stated in Clause 3 at the offices of Pacific Magazines Pty Ltd, 8 Central Ave, Eveleigh NSW 2015. Entries will be judged based on the 50 words or less answer and submitted photos.
  25. All qualifiers entries are subject to editorial review. The Bride s and Groom s name details will be displayed. The Bride s and Groom s personal details including address, telephone number and email address will not be publicly displayed.
  26. If the entrant is entering on behalf of the featured Bride, entrants must obtain the Bride s consent prior to entry. The entrant must be able to supply written consent from the Bride including consent to use of images and consent to participate in all elements of the promotion and contact details and consent to abide by these terms and conditions.
  27. Photos that are copyrighted can not be submitted unless you have permission from the photographer/owner. Photos cannot be returned. By entering the competition entrants agree and understand that their written entries and/or photos may be used for promotional purposes without any further reference, payment or other compensation to the entrant and/or owner of the photograph.
  28. Prize winners are advised that tax implications may arise from their prize winnings and they should seek independent financial advice prior to the acceptance of the prize.
  29. By accepting the prize, the winner agrees to participate in and co-operate as required with all reasonable media editorial requests relating to the prize, including but not limited to, being interviewed and photographed, filmed and/or chaperoned throughout the duration of the prize. Winners also agree to participate in any further Public Relation opportunities that may result in other coverage in other media including television, radio and newspapers.
  30. In consideration for the Promoter awarding the prize to the winner, the winner hereby assigns to the Promoter all right, title and interest in and to all copyright in any material created pursuant to the winner s participation in any aspect of the prize (Works). The winner acknowledges that the Promoter is free to use the Works and to exercise its rights in relation thereto and the winner will not be entitled to any fee for such use.
  31. In consideration for the Promoter awarding the prize to the winner, the winner hereby permits the winner s image and/or voice, as recorded, photographed or filmed during the winner s participation in the prize to appear in connection with this promotion or the advertising or marketing thereof, in any media whatsoever throughout the world and the winner will not be entitled to any fee for such use.
  32. If for any reason this competition is not capable of running as planned including infection by computer virus, line drop out, bugs, tampering, unauthorised intervention, fraud, technical failures or any other causes beyond the control of the Promoter which corrupts or affect the administration security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of this promotion, the Promoter [subject to state and territory legislation] reserves the right to disqualify any individual who tampers with the entry process, and to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the promotion. The Promoter and their associated agencies and companies will not be liable or responsible for any problems or technical malfunction of any telephone network or lines, computer on line systems, servers, or providers, computer equipment, software, technical problems of the phone or of any phone network, or any misadventure, accident, injury, loss (including but not limited to consequential loss) or claim that may occur during the draw; whilst undertaking any travel won on or connected with their entry into the draw; in the participation in any prize; as a consequence of late, lost or misdirected emails; due to the broadcast of any program relating to the competition or the publication of any material, including any statements made by any compere, staff member, journalist, other entrants or any other person; any injury or damage to entrant's or any other person's computer software; or any combination thereof, related to or resulting from participation or sending or receiving of any communication or of any materials in this competition.
  33. All entries and any copyright subsisting in the entries become and remain the property of the Promoter who may publish or cause to be published any of the entries received. Pacific Magazines Pty Ltd and its related entities collects entrants personal information for the purpose of conducting and promoting this competition (including but not limited to determining and notifying winners) and for related purposes which would reasonably be expected without your permission. For example, we may from time to time use your personal information to provide you with information about products and services which we expect may be of interest to you. However, we do respect your right to direct us not to do this if and when any future communication is sent to you by the Promoter. We do not sell personal information to other organisations. We may disclose personal information to essential service providers who provide services in connection with our products and services. You may request access to your personal information by writing to The Privacy Officer, Legal Compliance Department, Pacific Magazines Pty Ltd, 8 Central Ave, Eveleigh NSW 2015.
  34. The judges decision in relation to any aspect of the competition is final and binding on each person who enters. Chance plays no part in determining any winner. No correspondence will be entered into. No responsibility is accepted for late, lost or misdirected entries. Prizes are subject to availability, not transferable or exchangeable and, with the exception of cash prizes, cannot be taken as cash. Prizes will be sent to the winner s nominated address as stated in their original entry. The Promoter and their associated agencies, and companies associated with this promotion will take no responsibility for prizes damaged or lost in transit.
  35. It is a condition of accepting the prize that the winner must comply with all the conditions of use of the prize and the prize supplier s requirements.
  36. To the extent permitted by law, the Promoter shall not be liable for any loss or damage whatsoever suffered, including but not limited to direct or consequential loss, or personal injury suffered or sustained during the course of prize winning trips or in connection with the redemption of and/or use of any other prizes.

Information on how to enter form part of the terms and conditions of entry. This is a game of skill and chance plays no part in determining the winners.
Entry is open to all permanent residents of Australia and New Zealand. Employees and their immediate families of Pacific Magazines and their agencies and companies associated with the promotion are ineligible.

There are two parts to the competition.


PART ONE - Eligible participants will be required to register their details at www.bridetobe.com.au by providing their own name, daytime telephone number, email address, age, 3-5 wedding photos including one full length gown photo, close up of the bride and a bride & groom photo and tell us in 50 words or less 'Why you and your wedding truly embody the spirit of Bride to Be magazine' to complete their entry. Up to 30 monthly qualifiers will then be selected by The Promoter. The 30 qualifiers will then be entered for a monthly vote and the winning entrant will be determined by the highest number of votes received. Voting is open to the public and can be accessed at www.bridetobe.com.au.

PART TWO - The eleven monthly winners will then be automatically entered into a final round of voting to determine the major prize winner. Voting is open to the public and can be accessed at www.bridetobe.com.au. The final voting period is from 1 February 2011 at 00:01 to 28 February 2011. The major winner will be determined by the entrant with the highest number of votes. Winner announced on Monday 1 March 2011.
For all submissions, the featured Bride and wedding must have taken place between Jan 1, 2010 and Dec 31 2010.
The dates as stated in clause 3.1 and 3.2 are subject to change due to production and deadline schedules.
Pictures/photographs must be less than 2MB in size.
Entrants agree not to submit my photos and story to other wedding websites or magazines during the duration of this competition.
Entrants must be 18 years or older to enter the promotion.
Only one entry per bride can be submitted.
Voters can only register one vote per bride each hour of each day during the relevant voting period. Votes generated by any form of automation or computer program will not be accepted. The Promotor at it's sole discretion may remove any votes it deems to be illegitimate.
The promoter reserves the right to request the winner to provide proof of identity, proof of age and proof of residency at the nominated prize delivery address. Identification considered suitable for verification is at the discretion of the promoter.

The total prize value is up to $22,800. Prizes and values are as follows:

For any cash prizes your name on your entry must be that of an eligible bank account to which a cheque can be cashed. The Promoter makes all reasonable efforts to send cheques in the names as specified in the original entry. Winning entries with only a family name or reference to a family as the entrant cannot be cashed by banks.
The Promoter is not responsible for any acts of god, such as adverse weather conditions or industrial action or civil commotion that may occur whilst the winner is travelling. Accommodation is twin share standard room. Travel arrangements to and from the winner s home and Sydney do not form part of the prize and are the responsibility of the winner and their travelling companion. The winner must travel on the same flights and itinerary as their travelling companion. The travel prize cannot be used as part payment for another airfare package. Frequent flyer miles cannot be accrued on this prize. Flights and accommodation are subject to availability at the time of booking and cannot be exchanged for other destinations. Travel restrictions & blackout dates apply. Prizes cannot be taken during peak periods or school holidays, and the winners must provide all suppliers with a minimum of 30 days advance notice of intention to travel. Embargo restrictions apply during certain periods. Bookings are subject to all suppliers booking conditions & availability (including but not limited to capacity limitations and other restrictions. The Promoter does not guarantee that the winner will enjoy the travel prize or be suited to the type of travel prize that is offered.
The flights are non-redeemable for cash. All taxes, surcharges and levies are the responsibility of the Beneficiary and must be paid out at the time of booking. Travel is on confirmed space (i.e. you will not be bumped off the flight) but it is still subject to seat availability at the time of booking. Tickets are non transferable. Flights cannot be taken during peak travel periods. Bookings shall be made via Elegant Resorts and Villas by email.
Flights and accommodation are valid until the 30th November 2011. In the event that for any reason whatsoever a winner does not take an element of the prize at the time stipulated by the Promoter then that element of the prize will be forfeited by the winner and cash will not be awarded in lieu of that element of the prize.
Unless expressly stated in these terms and conditions all other expenses are the responsibility of the winners (and their companions) including but not limited to current passports, visas, meals, spending money, transport to and from departure and arrival points, transfers, drinks, incidentals, mini-bar, laundry, room service, telephone calls, activities, airport taxes (including departure taxes), energy surcharges, gratuities, services charges, travel insurance, pre and post accommodation, optional activities or excursions and all other ancillary costs All taxes (excluding GST and taxes included in the price of the tickets) which may be payable as a consequence of receiving the prize(s) are the sole responsibility of the winner. A credit card imprint or cash deposit may be required from the winner at check-in to the hotel, for all incidental charges. Holidays are subject to flight and booking availabilities.
