Definitely in our top five favourite shows Grand Designs is the unmissable show which takes us on a journey with couples as they attempt to build their dream home. Series seven of the show is released on DVD this month and we have five copies up for grabs!
Hosted by the uber-cool Kevin McCloud this seventh series features seven episodes with couples attempting their own "grand designs" with, as always, a good mix from the architect led contemporary glass and steel mansion to a Victorian style folly and even an eco house that is partly constructed from car tyres.
It's not only the incredible designs that draw you in but also the sheer human drama of what these people are attempting to do, Kevin is quite rightly convinced that you need a professional project manager on jobs of this size but invariably the couple like to take on that aspect themselves not realising how high the stress levels and you can guarantee that if one thing is going to stall the project - it will be the windows! Whether they need to be imported from Sweden and made from special non-glass glass or they just don't fit almost every house featured on the show has problems with their windows.
