Have a photo of your pet up to no good?

Then enter them in the Townsville Bulletin Pet Pageant - Naughty Pet Category.  To enter simply grab the code word printed in the Townsville Bulletin and submit along with a funny photo of your pet.

The winner of each category will receive a $350 voucher
to spend at Pet HQ and the people’s choice winner will receive a $1000 voucher to spend at Pet HQ!*

TOWNSVILLE BULLETIN

PET PAGEANT TERMS AND CONDITIONS

By entering the Townsville Bulletin Pet Pageant Competition you are agreeing to the following terms and conditions. The North Queensland Newspaper Company Pty Ltd reserves the right, with or without cause, to exclude entrants and withhold prizes for violating any of these terms and conditions. The North Queensland Newspaper Company Pty Ltd reserves the right to amend these terms and conditions at any time. Any amendments to the terms and conditions will be published in the Townsville Bulletin.

For the purposes of these terms and conditions, the Promoter is The North Queensland Newspaper Company Pty Ltd, 198 Ogden Street Townsville QLD 4810. ABN:64 009 655 690.

1. WHO CAN ENTER

(a) This competition is open only to:

(i) residents of Queensland due to the fact that the prize provider is unable to provide the prize outside of that geographical area;

(ii) persons aged 18 years or older; and


Proof of age and residency (eg. drivers licence) must be shown upon request.

(b) Employees, contractors and authorised agents of North Queensland Newspaper Company Pty Ltd and Pet HQ and their immediate families are not eligible to enter.

Immediate family means any of the following: spouse, de-facto spouse, child or step-child (whether natural or adopted), parent, step-parent, brother, sister, step-brother, step-sister.

2. HOW TO ENTER

(a) Readers must get the codeword published in the Townsville Bulletin. Readers are then required to enter the code word online at www.townsvillebulletin.com.au/petpageant, along with a photograph of their pet. Should an entrant provide the incorrect code word in their entry, that entry will be classed as invalid and not be included in the competition.

(b) The competition commences at 4am on Monday September 27 and closes at 10.00am on Monday October 18, 2010.

(c) Entries that are illegible, received after the closing time or do not fulfil all the conditions of entry will not be accepted.

(d) Only original digital photographs will be excepted, no photocopies.

(e) There is a limit of 100 entries per individual, family or syndicate. Individuals, families or syndicates lodging multiple entries must provide newsagent receipts for newspapers with their entries.

(f) Ownership (including intellectual property rights) in all entries (whether in written, audio or visual form, or a combination of those) is assigned to the Promoter upon submission of the entry and remains the property of the Promoter (subject to any limits contained in the Promoter’s Privacy Policy).

3. HOW TO WIN

(a) The finalists will be selected by the Townsville Bulletin and Pet HQ staff commencing at 10.15am on Monday October 18, 2010. Finalists will be printed in the Townsville Bulletin on Saturday October 23. Readers will then vote via sms for their favourite image. The image that receives the most number of votes will win the $1000 People’s Choice Award. The People’s Choice winner is then automatically withdrawn from winning the category entered (e.g. the People’s Choice Winner cannot also win a category prize).
The image that receives the most number of votes in each of the categories (funny pet, naughty pet and cute pet) will each win a $350 category prize. In the case of a draw the $350 category prize will be divided evenly between the winners.

(b) The winner will be announced in the Townsville Bulletin on Saturday October 30, 2010. The winner will also be notified by telephone within 7 days after the draw.

All reasonable endeavours will be made to contact the winner. If the winner cannot be contacted within 7 days after the draw, the Promoter reserves the right to re-draw a winner from the entries which were received before the closing date for the competition.

(c) The judge’s decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.


4. PRIZE

(a) The winner of the competition will receive the following prize:

People’s Choice Winner receives a $1000 voucher to spend at Pet HQ.
The 3 category prize winners will each receive a $350 voucher to spend at Pet HQ.

(b) The above mentioned values are for people living within the standard service area of Townsville. Some prize elements are only available within the Townsville area and may not be transferable if the winner falls outside the aforementioned region. In that case the Promoter is not required to provide a substitute prize.

(c) The full complement of the prize must be taken as offered and is not redeemable for cash or any other services.

(d) The prize will be forfeited if the winner does not redeem or take the prize at the time and place stipulated by the Promoter.

(e) In the event that any prize item is unavailable, the Promoter may, but is not required to, provide a substitute prize item of equal or greater value.

(f) Any taxes (other than GST, if any) which may be payable as a consequence of a winner receiving the prize, or any element of the prize, are the sole responsibility of the winner.

(g) The winner agrees not to sell or lease the prize, because profiteering from the prize, in part or full, is a breach of supply and action will be taken if misused.

(h) The winner consents to the use of his or her name, photograph and entry for promotional purposes.


5. NO LIABILITY

(a) In the case of the intervention of an outside act, agent or event which prevents or hinders the Promoter’s ability to proceed with the competition on the dates and in the manner described in these terms and conditions, the Promoter may, in its absolute discretion, cancel the competition and, if appropriate, recommence it from the start on the same conditions.

(b) The Promoter is not responsible for prizes damaged or lost in transit, or late, lost or misdirected mail.

(c) The Promoter is not liable for, and all entrants release the Promoter from any liability arising out of or in connection with, any loss, damage, injury, action or claim (including consequential loss) suffered or incurred by entrants and the winner which arises out of or in connection with:

(i) the competition draw;

(ii) any travel won on or connected with the prize or entry into the competition;

(iii) participation in the prize or any element of the prize; or

(iv) the publication or broadcast of any material or statement by the Promoter, any employee, contractor or agent of the Promoter or any other person.

6. PRIVACY

(a) By entering this competition, you agree that your details provided to the Promoter will be used by the Promoter and its related companies in accordance with its Privacy Policy. This Privacy Policy relates to the collection and use of personal information you may supply to the Promoter through your participation in the competition.

The Promoter reserves the right, at its discretion, to modify or remove portions of its Privacy Policy at any time.

The North Queensland Newspaper Company Pty Ltd (NQN) collects your personal information to assist us in providing the goods or services you have requested, to process your competition entries, and to improve our products and services. We or any of our Australian related companies may be in touch by any means (including email or SMS) to let you know about goods, services, or promotions which may be of interest to you. We may also share your information with other persons or entities who assist us in providing our services, running competitions or with other companies who provide prizes for competitions or reader offers.

NQN is part of a global media and entertainment company. We would like to share your information with these overseas-related companies so that they can contact you with special offers.
