Presented by Stephen Hawking, the series mixes CGI, live action, special effects and digitally enhanced NASA footage together for a staggeringly good glimpse into the beginnings of the universe as well as looking at how stars are created, the effects of black holes and the possibility of life on other planets. As well as looking ahead to what lies in store for the future of our planet and the solar system.

Hawking, one of the greatest minds on Earth, despite being wheelchair bound and unable to talk except via the computer voice box he uses, is a mesmering host, whether he being exploring aliens, time travel or what the embracing of new technology means for our future. Made for the Discovery this science series definitely qualifies as must see TV!
