I think Medicare only covers them for women over 50 / 55?!

only if you're over a certain age - I've paid over $200 a couple of times - I think you have to be over 55? to get it done free

My sister just had two surgeries ending in a full mastectomy because she had a 9cm tumour that was not fully visible on a mammogram. Because of this I asked for a referral for a mammogram and a ultrasound from my doctor and she told me it would cost me about $350 for both. If I was over 40 the mammogram would be free. Not sure if thats just in Vic?

I have been having free mammographs since I was 40 and now I am mid 5o's but my mother did have breast cancer.
