David Jason plays old soldier Harry who teams up with best friend Frank (the fab David Warner) to fulfil the dying wish of fellow friend Albert. Albert wants to be buried in a meadow where the trio had joined forces with Russian soldiers during the advancement on Berlin towards the end of world war II.
The journey is a chance for Harry and Frank to reminisce but also get to the heart of the dark secret that has been slowly eating away at their friendship; A chance encounter with German hitch-hiker Vickie, causes both men to rethink things. A wonderful, strong comedy drama with a fine cast at the top of their game Albert's Memorial is the kind of drama that you don't forget in a hurry.
