1. Instructions on how to enter form part of the conditions of entry into the Optus One 80
Competition (“Competition”). By participating Entrants agree to be bound by these conditions.
2. The Promoter is MTV Networks Australia Pty Ltd of Ground Floor 4-16 Yurong Street, East
Sydney, NSW 2010 ACN 107 601 418 (“Promoter”).
3. Entry is only open to Australian residents aged 15 years or over (“Entrants”). Entrants can be
groups or individuals. Employees and their immediate families of the Promoter, SingTel Optus
Pty Limited ABN 90 052 833 208 (“Optus”), suppliers and associated companies and agencies
are not eligible to enter either individually or as part of a group.
4. Entrants can submit an unlimited number of entries into the Competition.5. The Promoter reserves the right to verify the validity of entries and to disqualify any Entrant
who the Promoter believes either has manipulated, tampered with, or engaged in unfair
practices relating to, the voting or the competition process or has submitted an entry that is
not in accordance with these terms and conditions.
6. The Competition entry period commences at 12:01am (AEDST) on 15 October 2010 and
closes at 11.59pm (AEDST) on 14 January 2011.

SUBMITTING ENTRIES
9. To enter, an Entrant must submit:
(a) a completed Entry Form downloadable from www.one80project.com.au (Website);
(b) a pilot episode (Pilot) of not greater than 3 minutes duration (including any
opening and closing credits) that relates to the submitted Entry Form;
(c) a treatment outlining the Pilot; and
(d) a biography, uploaded to the Website10. The entry must be suitable for watching via the following platforms: Mobile Phone, Internet,
Television.
11. Each Entrant must nominate a writer and director for the Pilot on their Entry Form
(“Creative Team”). For the avoidance of doubt, the roles of writer and director may be
carried out by the same person.
12. Any person not listed as an Entrant in the Entry Form will considered not to have
entered the Competition and will have no claim against the Promoter in respect of any
prize awarded under this Competition.
13. The Entry Form and Pilot submitted as an entry must be for a production that fits the definition
of ‘drama’ as defined by the Australian Communications and Media Authority. For the purpose
of this Competition, drama means:
1. A program that:
a) has a fully scripted screen play in which the dramatic elements of the characters, theme and
plot are introduced and developed to form a narrative structure; or
b) has a partially scripted screenplay in which the dramatic elements of character, theme and
plot are introduced and developed to form a narrative structure and has actors delivering improvised
dialogue that is based on a script outline or outlines developed by a writer or writers; or
c) has actors delivering improvised dialogue that is based on a script outline or outlines, developed by
a writer or writers, in which the dramatic elements of the character, theme and plot are introduced and
developed to form a narrative structure; and
2. includes a fully scripted sketch comedy program, animated drama or dramatised
documentary; but
3. does not include:
a) a program or a segment of a program, that involves the incidental use of actors; or
b) an Australian children’s drama; or
c) advertising or sponsorship matter (whether or not of a commercial kind).

16. Subject to these terms and conditions, an Entrant can submit as many Pilots as they like, as
long as they conform to the Competition rules, and they submit the Entry Forms and
corresponding Pilots, treatments and biographies within the Competition timeline. All eligible
entries will be posted on the Website. These entries will be accessible by the public. Entrants’
personal details (not submitted as part of their entry) will not be accessible by the public.
17. Entrants must submit a Pilot made by him/herself or with the express consent of the maker.
Entrants must have sole and complete ownership over both the Pilot concept and script and
have the right to produce programming based on the Pilot concept and script. If an entrant
does not have sole and complete ownership over both the Pilot concept and script, and the
right to produce programming based on the Pilot concept and script, their entry may be
deemed invalid and may be disqualified. By entering this Competition, the Entrant and the
subject(s) of the Pilot consent to the Pilot being communicated on the promotional website and
mobile wapsite and used for related press, PR or TV promotions.
18. An Entrant may not submit a Pilot as an entry which constitutes a breach of another person’s
privacy or an infringement of another person’s or another company’s intellectual property
rights including copyright or trade mark. The Promoter may require evidence of any
necessary licence of intellectual property to be provided on request and reserves the
right to disqualify any Entrant who has not obtained the relevant permissions or
licences.
19. The Promoter may make music tracks available on the Website for the duration of this
Competition for Entrants to use in their Pilot. Any music incorporated, synchronised or
otherwise used in the Pilot, other than the music made available by the Promoter, including
theme music and sound effects, must be cleared for use in all media. It is the responsibility of
the Entrant to contract with the composer or owner of any musical work and sound recordings
included in the Pilot, to enable the proper communication of the Pilot, by the Promoter, by way
of all media. The Promoter may require evidence of any such contract to be provided on
request and reserves the right to disqualify any Entrant who has not obtained the relevant
permissions or licences.
20. By entering this Competition the Entrant warrants that the submitted Pilot and the display of
the Pilot on the Promoter’s Competition website does not constitute a breach of another
person’s privacy or an infringement of another person’s or another company’s intellectual
property including copyright or trade mark. Any material (including all audio, visual or text)
sent by Entrants may be used in any media including online, via the wapsite or on TV at the
sole discretion of the Promoter.
21. The Promoter accepts no responsibility for any lost or misdirected entries, or Pilots not
received for any reason by the Promoter during the Competition Period, or any delays in the
delivery of Pilots for any reason.
22. Any information, photographs, audio-visual or other material provided to the Promoter by an
Entrant as part on an entry to this Competition will not be returned to Entrants. Entrants are
advised to not send original material.
23. By submitting an entry the Entrants agrees that any tapes, files, disks, documents or other
physical items included with your entry become the property of the Promoter and Optus.
24. By submitting an entry, the Entrant agrees (in consideration for the Promoter's review of the
entry) that the Promoter and Optus have a non-exclusive and worldwide licence to use the
entry (including all audio, visual or text) by way of any media for five years from the opening
date for entries. Use of the entry may include, but is not limited to, publishing, performing in
public, communicating in public and adapting the entry.
25. To the extent permitted by the law, the Entrant consents to the Promoter and Optus doing any
act or omitting to do any act (including without limitation editing or adapting the entry) in
respect of an entry that but for this consent would be an infringement of the Entrant’s moral
rights in the entry. The Entrant also agrees to execute any document necessary to give effect
to that consent.
26. By submitting an entry the Entrant:
1. warrants that it is the maker of the Pilot or have obtained express consent from the
maker to submit the Pilot into this Competition;
2. warrants that it has sole ownership of the Pilot concept and script and that it
has the right to produce programming based on the Pilot concept and script;
3. warrants that it has obtained express consent from any person appearing in the Pilot;
4. warrants that it has obtained express consent from all composers and copyright
owners of any music included in the Pilot
5. warrants that, where applicable, it has obtained all of the relevant moral rights
consents from any third parties involved in the Pilot;
6. warrants that its entry does not breach any intellectual property rights of a third
party;
7. warrants that if any subject(s) appearing in the Pilot is aged 18 years or younger, that
it has obtained the express consent of the subject’s parent or guardian for the
subject’s image to be displayed on the Competition website; and
8. understands that a feature of the Competition includes a mobile wap site and that all
Competition entries may be accessible via mobile phone.
27. Entrants must submit their Pilot according to the timetable below:

28. All valid entries received before the closing date will be subject to a public vote or comment
based on the Entrant’s skill level. Pilots will be rated according to a star rating system, and
this rating may be displayed publicly on the Website.
29. The promoter reserves the right, in its absolute discretion, to disqualify any entry which it
considers depicts or encourages inappropriate, offensive or dangerous behaviour of any kind,
or where the promoter reasonably believes that the pilot infringes another persons intellectual
property rights.
COMPETITION PRIZES (FOR PEOPLE SUBMITTING AN ENTRY)
30. The top 10 Entrants (“Finalists”) will be judged by the Promoter and announced on 24 January
2011.
31. In order to be eligible for the prizes as set out in the Finalists’ Prize table below, the Finalist
must agree to their Pilot being shown at the OPTUS ONE80PROJECT Event to be held no later
than 13 March 2011.
32. The Finalists may be required to sign a release warranting that they own or control all
necessary rights in the Pilot necessary to allow the Promoter to exercise the rights referred to
in these Terms and Conditions.
33. If the Creative Team nominated in a Finalist’s Entry Form ceases to be able to work
together for whatever reason, the Promoter at its sole discretion will have the right to
revoke any prizes awarded to that Finalist and re-award the prize to another entrant.
34. The Promoter at its sole discretion may require Finalists to provide evidence that they
hold sole and complete ownership of the Pilot concept and script and/or evidence that
the Finalist has the right to produce programming based on the Pilot concept and
script.
35. The Finalists will be eligible for the prizes as set out in the prize table below (“Prize Table”).
36. From the Finalists, 2 major prize winners will be selected – 1 winner as selected by a panel of
judges as appointed by the Promoter (“the Judge’s Choice Winner”) and 1 winner based on
votes received from the general public (“the People’s Choice Winner”). In the event that there
is more than one entrant with the highest number of votes received from the general public,
those entrants’ entries will revert back to the panel of judges appointed by the Promoter in
order to determine the prize winner for The People’s Choice Winner.
37. The panel of judges appointed by the Promoter will also select an Entrant who, at the
commencement of the Competition, is enrolled as a full time student in an Australian
high school or Australian tertiary institution (“Student”) to win the prize created for
student filmmakers (“Student Incentive Award”).
38. The 2 major prize winners will be eligible for the prizes as set out in each of the
respective major prize sections in the Prize Table below. Major prize winners of the
Competition will be announced no later than 13 March 2011
39. The Judge’s Choice Winner must commence production of the final production within 2
months of announcement of the winning Finalist. The Promoter must be satisfied that
the Judge’s Choice Winner will complete final production in accordance with the prize
set out in the Prize Table within 6 months of announcement of the winning Finalist. If
either of these criteria is not satisfied by the Judge’s Choice Winner, the Promoter at its
sole discretion may revoke the prizes awarded to the first Judge’s Choice Winner and
re-award those prizes and the title of the Judge’s Choice Winner to a different Finalist.
40. If the Judges Choice Winner is a Student they remain eligible to also win the Student
Incentive Award.
41. The Judges Choice Winner may be required, at the Promoter’s absolute discretion, to
enter into a production agreement for the program with the Promoter within 2 months
of announcement of the winning Finalist. If the Judge’s Choice Winner fails to enter into
a production agreement with Promoter for the program by within 2 months of
announcement of the winning Finalist, the Promoter at its sole discretion may revoke
the prizes awarded to the first Judge’s Choice Winner and re-award those prizes and
the title of the Judge’s Choice Winner to a different Finalist.
42. The Promoter at its sole discretion may require the winner of the Student Incentive
Award to provide proof of current full-time enrolment in a high school or tertiary
institution. If the Student does not provide evidence of enrolment to the Promoter
within five business days of the Promoter requesting this evidence, the Promoter may
in its sole discretion, revoke the award from the original winner of the Student
Incentive Award and grant the Student Incentive Award to another Student who
satisfies the eligibility criteria for this particular award.
43. The winner of the Student Incentive Award will be eligible for the prizes as set out in
the Student Incentive Award section of the Prize Table below. The winner of the
Student Incentive Award will be announced no later than 13 March 2011.
44. Each Finalist is eligible to win multiple prizes (more than one of the three major prizes).

45. The above table outlines the Prize Pool confirmed as at 12th October 2010. The
Promoter reserves the right to include additional prizing in the Prize Pool, and the
inclusion of additional prizes will at all times be at the Promoter’s discretion. Any
information regarding additional prizes will be made available on the Website.
GENERAL CONDITIONS
46. The judges' decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
47. The total maximum prize pool is valued at $205,000.00 including GST components. The
Promoter will not be responsible for any change in the value of a prize. The Promoter and its
associated agencies and companies accept no responsibility for prizes damaged or lost in
transit.
48. Winners of all prizes will be notified via phone call and by mail within 5 business days of the
announcement date identified in the Prize Table above..
49. All prizes are non-transferable and cannot be exchanged for cash.
50. To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Promoter and its related bodies corporate shall not
be liable for any loss, damage or injury suffered or sustained (including but not limited to
direct or consequential loss or loss arising from negligence arising directly or indirectly out of
or in connection with the promotion or any prize.
51. If any prize, or part of any prize, is no longer available, the Promoter, in its discretion,
reserves the right to substitute the prize, or that part of the prize, with a prize to the
equal value.
52. Where applicable, winners should look to the prize manufacturer should they seek to
enforce any manufacturers warranties relating to the prize. However, nothing in these
terms and conditions attempts to exclude or limit the application of any statutory
warranty under the Trade Practices Act 1974 (Cth) where to do so would contravene
that statute or cause any part of these terms and conditions to be void.
53. In the event of war, terrorism, state of emergency or disaster, the Promoter reserves
the right to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the Competition at its discretion.
54. The Promoter and its related bodies assumes no responsibility for, and the Entrant releases
the Promoter from responsibility for, any failure to receive an entry or for inaccurate
information or for any loss, claim, damage or injury to person or property (including computer
systems and servers) as a result of the Entrant's participation in this promotion or the conduct
of the promotion generally or as a direct or indirect result of an Entrant's error, any technical
problem of any kind including communications or network failure, unauthorized access to,
transferring or theft of data, whether caused by the Entrant or associated with the equipment
or programming used in the conduct of this promotion. If, because of any such problem, this
promotion is not able to be conducted as planned and/or the promotion's administration,
security, fairness or integrity are compromised or affected, the Promoter may (where
necessary with the approval of the relevant Department) cancel, terminate, modify or suspend
the promotion and/or disqualify any Entrant involved in interfering or tampering with the
conduct of this promotion in any way.
55. Any costs associated with entering the promotion and accessing the website are the
responsibility of the Entrant. Any contact details entered incorrectly on the website shall be
deemed invalid. All entries are deemed to be received at the time of receipt by the Promoter
NOT the time of sending by the Entrant.
56. By entering the promotion, unless otherwise advised by the Entrant, each Entrant consents to
the information they submit with their entry being entered into a database. All personal
details of the Entrants provided by entering the promotion will be stored at the office of the
Promoter. A request to access, update or correct any information should be directed to that
