Terms and conditions
By entering ActewAGLs $10,000 Home Efficiency Makeover competition you could WIN your
choice of home efficiency packages to make your home more energy and water efficient.
The prize consists of a home energy assessment, by a qualified assessor, including:
Installation of a cent-a-meter used to monitor your homes electricity usage, valued at
$300, and;
the selected packages listed below, up to a total prize value of $10,000.
The value of each chosen package contributes to the total prize pool of $10,000. If the entire
value of an individual package is not spent, the balances will not be refunded or transferred to
other packages. The prize is not transferable, not exchangeable and cannot be redeemed for
cash.
Packages for the winner to choose from
Whitegood package up to the value of $5,000 (RRP), from which the winner can select
any one or combination of the following: any minimum four-star dishwasher; any minimum
four-star refrigerator; any minimum four and a half-star front-loading washing machine; and
any microwave from Harvey Norman, located on Ipswich Street (corner of Barrier Street),
Fyshwick, ACT 2609. Package includes delivery.
Lighting package up to the value of $1,500 (RRP), from which the winner can select any
one or combination of the following: ceiling fan; LED downlights; sensors; LED lamps;
compact fluorescent light bulbs; or solar outdoor lighting from Beacon Lighting, located at
175 Gladstone Street, Fyshwick, ACT 2609. Package does not include delivery or
installation.
Heating, hot water and cooling package up to the value of $5,000 (RRP), from which the
winner can select any one or combination of the following: any reverse cycle air
conditioning unit, any natural gas log fire, any natural gas ducted system, any gas hot water
system, or any solar hot water system from the ActewAGL Energy Shop, located at 145
Gladstone Street, Fyshwick, ACT 2609. Package includes installation.
Window-covering and curtain package up to the value of $3,000 (RRP), from which the
winner can select any one or combination of the following: any lined curtains; any Roman
blinds (installed within the reveal); any Holland blinds (installed within the reveal); and any
Honeycomb blinds, from Crowes Curtains, located at the corner of Lyell and Barrier Streets,

Tap and toilet fixtures package up to the value of $1,500 (RRP), from which the winner

Rainwater package up to the value of $3,000 (RRP), which includes a rainwater tank and
standard installation (consisting of delivery, two meters of downpipe, tap, overflow and leaf

Any Greenchoice green energy plan up to the value of $500, applied to the winners
ActewAGL electricity bill.
Competition commences 9.00am on Friday 15 October 2010 at 9.00am and closes at 4.00pm
on Monday 13 December 2010.
Entry is open to ActewAGL customers over 18 years of age. To
enter the competition entrants must complete a competition entry form and place it in the barrel
at the following locations:
ActewAGL stores located at City Walk, Civic; Ground Floor, Westfield Woden; The
Marketplace, Gungahlin, from 15 October to 13 December 2010.
The ActewAGL Energy Shops located at 145 Gladstone Street, Fyshwick, 78 Main
Street,Young and 174 Princes Highway, South Nowra from 15 October to 13 December
2010.
The ActewAGL and TransACT stand, located inside the Budawang Pavilion at The Spring
Home and Leisure Show, at Exhibition Park In Canberra, Flemington Road, Mitchell, from
22 to 24 October 2010.
The ActewAGL and TransACT stand, located at the Queanbeyan Show, at Farrer Place,
Queanbeyan, from 21 to 22 November 2010.

October 2010.
Alternatively, customers can post their entry to: $10,000 Home Efficiency Makeover
competition, Marketing, PO Box 250, Civic Square ACT 2608, before 13 December 2010.
The winner will be drawn at ActewAGL House, 40 Bunda Street, Canberra City, on Wednesday
15 December at 10.00am. The winner will be contacted by telephone on the day of the draw, by
mail, and announced in The Canberra Times public notices section on Saturday 18 December
2010. In the event the prize is unclaimed, a re-draw will take place at ActewAGL House, 40
Bunda Street, Canberra City, on 15 March 2011 at 10.00am.
When calculating the value of each item in a package, the recommended retail price will be
used, unless the item is on sale, in which case the discounted price can be used to give the
winner most benefit.
If a winner does not fully claim their prize by Wednesday 30 March 2011, unclaimed portions
will be forfeited and cash will not be awarded in lieu of prize.
Prizes must be taken as stated and no compensation will be payable if the winner is unable to
use the prize as stated. The prize cannot be transferred to any other person.
If the prize (or any part of the prize) is unavailable, the Promoter, in its discretion, reserves the
right to substitute the prize (or that part of the prize) with a prize equal value.
The winner consents to the use of their first initial, surname, suburb and state of residence for
promotional and marketing purposes and notifying prize suppliers.

The Promoter will collect personal information in order to conduct the Promotion and all entries
submitted become the property of the Promoter. Entries will not be returned to any entrant and
maybe used to update customers contact details within ActewAGL systems.
The Promoter shall not be liable for any loss suffered or sustained in connection with the prize
except for liability which cannot be excluded by law.
All amounts include GST unless otherwise stated.
Employees of ActewAGL and its partners, ACTEW Corporation, AGL Energy, Jemena, and
employees of TransACT or Neighbourhood Cable, and immediate families, are ineligible to
enter the competition.
