Originally adapted and directed by Glenn Elston, The Wind in the Willows has become an enchanting family favourite during summer in Sydney and will be returning to the beautiful Royal Botanic Gardens from 5 – 29 January 2011. Over the years an audience of tens of thousands have delighted in the simple pleasures of this rollicking production.
Captivating the imagination of audience members young and old the endearing characters will lead you on a charming adventure. With Head Chief Rabbit as your guide, the audience is transformed into rabbits and taken on a search for little Portly, last seen heading for the Wild Wood! Along the way you will sing, dance and laugh along with Ratty, Mole, Weasel and the famous Mr Toad. Each season the production has grown and developed as different performers bring their own special touch to the play. The script evolves every year to add new episodes and provide new surprises. Pack a picnic, pack the kids and plan a day out in the beautiful Botanic Gardens.
