1.Information on how to enter and prizes form part of these Terms and Conditions of Entry. Participation in this promotion is deemed acceptance of these Terms and Conditions of Entry.
2.Entrants must be Australian residents (“Entrants”), and can only nominate fully-qualified carpenters, currently working as a carpenter in Australia (“Nominated Carpenter”) or Carpentry Apprentices, currently studying and/or working as an apprentice.
3.The competition will commence on December 13, 2010 and close at 5pm AEST on March 11, 2011. Winners will be notified by phone or email as soon as the winners are selected by the judging panel.
4.Employees of Forest and Wood Products Australia and agencies associated with this promotion are not eligible to enter. Immediate family means any of the following: spouse, ex-spouse, de-facto spouse, child or step-child (whether natural or by adoption), parent, step-parent, grandparent, step-grandparent, uncle, aunt, niece, nephew, brother, sister, step-brother, step-sister or 1st cousin.
5.The Promoter reserves the right, at any time, to verify the validity of entries and entrants (including an entrant’s identity, and place of residence) and to disqualify any entrant who submits an entry that is not in accordance with these Terms and Conditions of Entry or who tampers with the entry process. Errors and omissions will be accepted at the Promoter's discretion. Failure by the Promoter to enforce any of its rights at any stage does not constitute a waiver of those rights.

The answers will be judged on the merits of each Nominated Carpenter and Nominated Apprentice Carpenter, as provided on the entry form. The judging panel’s decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
9.The judges reserve the right to select additional reserve entries that they determine to be the next best, and record them in order, in case of an invalid entry or ineligible entrants are selected.
10.Entries will be divided into the following State/Territory groups: Queensland, NSW/ACT, Victoria, Tasmania, South Australia/Northern Territory and Western Australia.
11.CARPENTER OF THE YEAR PROMOTION (Finalists) - The Nominated Carpenter adjudged the best, as determined by the judging panel, in each State/Territory group (“Finalists”) will each win from Paslode one Impulse Framing or Fix-out tool. 1.If any prize (or part of any prize) is unavailable, the Promoter, in its discretion, reserves the right to substitute the prize (or that part of the prize) with a prize to the equal value and/or specification.
2.All entries (which shall include photographs) submitted become the property of the Promoter. Entries will not be returned to any entrant. As a condition of entering into this promotion, each entrant licences the Promoter to use their entry in any media for an unlimited period for any reason including but not limited to future promotional, marketing or publicity purposes. 4.The Finalists/National Winners for both the Carpenter of the Year Promotion and the Apprentice Carpenter of the Year Promotion must be able to provide identification and verification that they are a fully-qualified carpenter working in Australia or an Apprentice Carpenter working/studying in Australia. Identification suitable is at the absolute discretion of the Promoter.
5.The Promoter collects personal information in order to conduct the Promotion and may, for this purpose, disclose such information to third parties, including but not limited to agents, contractors, service providers, and prize suppliers. Entry is conditional on providing this information. The Promoter may, for an indefinite period, unless otherwise advised, use the information for promotional, marketing, publicity, research and profiling purposes, including sending electronic messages or telephoning the entrant. Entrants should direct any request to access, update or correct information to the Promoter. All entries become the property of the Promoter.
6.The Finalists/National Winners of both Promotions must be willing to participate in media interviews and photographs to receive the prize.
7.The Finalists/National Winners of both Promotions must be willing to participate in a photo shoot at the conclusion of the competition and sign a photography model release agreement allowing Forest and Wood Products Australia Limited full ownership and use of all images in all advertising and promotional material including but not limited to in print, broadcast and on-line mediums.
8.Except for any liability that cannot be excluded by law, the Promoter (including its officers, employees and agents) excludes all liability (including negligence), for any personal injury; or any loss or damage (including loss of opportunity); whether direct, indirect, special or consequential, arising in any way out of the Promotion, including, but not limited to, where arising out of the following: (a) any technical difficulties or equipment malfunction (whether or not under the Promoter’s control); (b) any theft, unauthorised access or third party interference; (c) any entry or prize claim that is late, lost, altered, damaged or misdirected (whether or not after their receipt by the Promoter) due to any reason beyond the reasonable control of the Promoter; (d) any variation in prize value to that stated in these Terms and Conditions of Entry; (e) any tax liability incurred by a Finalists/National Winners or entrant; or (f) use of a prize.
9.As a condition of accepting the prize, the Finalists/National Winners may be required to sign any legal documentation as and in the form required by the Promoter and/or prize suppliers in their absolute discretion, including but not limited to a legal release and indemnity form.

“KEY TO THE SKI CARPENTER’S CHALLENGE” PROMOTIONHOW TO ENTERTo enter individuals must fully complete the official entry form available at any official National Carpenters Day BBQ (as outlined on www.carpentersday.com.au) on Friday 8th April 2011 (including their first name, last name, company name (if applicable), home address, mobile number, valid email address, occupation (carpenter, apprentice carpenter or other), and an answer to the question provided, and either:

•hand to their BBQ host by the end of the official 2011 National Carpenters Day BBQ that they attend; or
•send to “National Carpenters Day, PO Box 354, Bentleigh East, Victoria 3165”, so it received by last mail on 20/04/11; or
•fax to (03) 9563 7174 by 5pm AEDST on 20/4/11. Maximum cost of fax will not exceed 55c including GST.

8.Promotion commences on 08/04/11. Entries via mail must be received by last mail on 20/04/11. Entries via fax must be received by 5pm AEDST on 20/04/11. Entries submitted at an official BBQ must be handed to a BBQ host by the end of that official BBQ.
State Finalist Draw1.Entries will be divided into the following State/Territory groups: VIC, NSW/ACT, QLD, TAS, SA/NT and WA.  The State Finalist draw will take place at Leading Edge Events International Pty Ltd, 899 Centre Road, Bentleigh East. Victoria 3165on 21/04/11 at 2pm.
2.The first valid and correct entry drawn in each State/Territory group will each win the opportunity to compete in the Key to the Ski Carpenters Challenge (“Semi-Finalists”).The Promoter reserves the right to draw additional reserve entries and record them in order in case an invalid entry or ineligible entrant is drawn.
3.Semi-Finalists will be notified by phone and mail, and their names’ will be published in The Australian newspaper on 28/04/11.
4.In order to participate in the Key to the Ski Carpenters Challenge(“Challenge”), drawn Semi-Finalists who reside outside of Victoria will each receive one return economy airfare from his/her nearest capital city in Australia to Melbourne, Victoria and return transfers from Melbourne Airport to the Challenge location, valued at up to $700 depending on point of departure. The Semi-Finalist from Victoria will not receive airfares and the airfare component of the prize is not redeemable for cash. In addition, the drawn Semi-Finalist from Victoria will be responsible for transport (and all related costs) to and from the Challenge location. Spending money, accommodation, meals, taxes, insurance, transport to and from departure point, additional transfers, items of a personal nature (including but not limited to in-room charges) and all other ancillary costs are not included. Frequent flyer points will not form part of the prize.
5.If a drawn Semi-Finalist is unable to attend the Challenge or the Promoter has been unable to get in contact with a Semi-Finalist before the start of the Challenge, a representative of the Promoter who is a tradesperson will take part in the Challenge on that drawn Semi-Finalist’s behalf.
6.The Victorian Semi-Finalist will be awarded a $30 Hard Yakka voucher. Any ancillary costs associated with redeeming the voucher are not included. Any unused balance of the voucher will not be awarded as cash. Redemption of the voucher is subject to any terms and conditions of the issuer including those specified on the voucher.
Key to the Ski Carpenters Challenge1.The Challenge will take place at Federation Square, Melbourne, Victoria at 2.00pm. The Semi-Finalist/representative of the Promoter will compete in the Challenge (‘Player’). The Challenge is a skill based contest that challenges professional tradespersons to perform a series of precise tasks in the shortest time possible. The tasks include: (1) removing two pipe fittings from a channel; (2) marking three vertical lines on a board, at three pre-marked positions; (3) sliding the board into a cutting position and clamping to the work surface; (4) cutting on the marked lines; (5) drilling two holes at intersecting lines; and (6) unclamping the board and placing the board into the channel. Players will be divided into three pairs. The Player to whom another Player is paired will be determined by a draw that will take place at the Challenge venue at 1.45pm. Each pair of Players will then compete in the Challenge, the first Player out of each pair to complete all tasks in the fastest time will have the opportunity to play the Major Prize Game for the chance to win a Kawasaki Jet Ski (STX-15F) valued at $17,495, a jet ski trailer valued at $1,700 and insurance for the Jet Ski up to the value of $700 and a Wood Naturally Better merchandise pack valued at $105 (“Major Prize”). The total value of the Major Prize is $20,000. There will be three (3) Players who will participate in the Major Prize Game (“Grand Final Players”).
2.If a pair of Players complete the Challenge in exactly the same time, they will re-complete the Challenge until one Player obtains a faster time and he/she will be deemed a Grand Final Player.
Major Prize Game1.The Major Prize Game will take place at the Challenge venue on Saturday 7th May 2011, immediately after the Challenge finishes (“Game”). Each Grand Final Player will be able to choose one (1) Lockwood Key (“Key”) from the three (3) Keys on display (without touching, handling or interfering in any way with any of the other keys on display). If a Grand Final Player is found to have breached this condition, he/she will be disqualified.  The order in which a Grand Final Player will choose a Key will be determined by the time it took for them to complete the Challenge, with the fastest Grand Final Player picking first and the slowest Grand Final Player picking last.
2.Each Grand Final Player will take it in turns to unlock the crate on display. If a Grand Final Player selects the Key which unlocks the crate on display, then, subject to verification by the judges, the Semi-Finalist to whom he/she is playing on behalf of will win the Major Prize. If the winning Grand Final Player is actually the Semi-Finalist, then subject to verification he/she will win the Major Prize.
3.If a Grand Final Player selects a Key that does not unlock the crate, then, subject to verification by the judges, he/she and the Semi-Finalist he/she is playing on behalf of (if the Grand Final Player played on behalf of a Semi-Finalist) will not win the Major Prize. Once a Grand Final Player has unlocked the crate, no further Keys will be tested.
4.The drawn Semi-Finalist’s odds of winning the Major Prize (once selected for the Major Prize Game), are 1 in 3.  The odds of being drawn as a Semi-Finalist may be significantly higher than the odds of the drawn Semi-Finalist winning the Major Prize, and will depend upon the number of entries received.
General1.The Promoter’s decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
2.Prize is subject to the standard terms and conditions of individual prize and service providers.
3.In the event of war, terrorism, state of emergency or disaster, the Promoter reserves the right to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the promotion, subject to any written directions from a relevant regulatory authority.
4.Subject to the unclaimed prize draw clause, if for any reason a winner does not take the prize or an element of the prize by the time stipulated by the Promoter, then the prize or that element of the prize will be forfeited.
5.If any prize (or part of any prize) is unavailable, the Promoter, in its discretion, reserves the right to substitute the prize (or that part of the prize) with a prize to the equal value and/or specification, subject to any written directions from a regulatory authority.
6.Total prize pool value is up to $20,700 in each of NSW, ACT, QLD, TAS, SA, NT and WA and up to $20,050 in VIC.
7.Prizes, or any unused portion of a prize, are not transferable or exchangeable and cannot be taken as cash.
8.A draw for a prize, if unclaimed, may take place on 27/07/11 at the same time and place as the original draw, subject to any directions from a regulatory authority. The winner (if any) will be notified in writing and their name will be published in The Australian newspaper on 04/08/11.
9.Entrants consent to the Promoter using the entrant's name, likeness, image and/or voice in the event they are a winner (including photograph, film and/or recording of the same) in any media for an unlimited period without remuneration for the purpose of promoting this competition (including any outcome), and promoting any products manufactured, distributed and/or supplied by the Promoter.
10.If this promotion is interfered with in any way or is not capable of being conducted as reasonably anticipated due to any reason beyond the reasonable control of the Promoter, including but not limited to technical difficulties, unauthorised intervention or fraud, the Promoter reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to the fullest extent permitted by law (a) to disqualify any entrant; or (b) subject to any written directions from a regulatory authority, to modify, suspend, terminate or cancel the promotion, as appropriate.
11.Nothing in these Terms and Conditions limits, excludes or modifies or purports to limit, exclude or modify the statutory consumer guarantees as provided under the Competition and Consumer Act, as well as any other implied warranties under the ASIC Act or similar consumer protection laws in the State and Territories of Australia (“Non-Excludable Guarantees”). Except for any liability that cannot by law be excluded, including the Non-Excludable Guarantees, the Promoter (including its respective officers, employees and agents) excludes all liability (including negligence), for any personal injury; or any loss or damage (including loss of opportunity); whether direct, indirect, special or consequential, arising in any way out of the promotion.
12.Except for any liability that cannot by law be excluded, including the Non-Excludable Guarantees,  the Promoter (including its respective officers, employees and agents) is not responsible for and excludes all liability (including negligence), for any personal injury; or any loss or damage (including loss of opportunity); whether direct, indirect, special or consequential, arising in any way out of: (a) any technical difficulties or equipment malfunction (whether or not under the Promoter’s control); (b) any theft, unauthorised access or third party interference; (c) any entry or prize claim that is late, lost, altered, damaged or misdirected (whether or not after their receipt by the Promoter) due to any reason beyond the reasonable control of the Promoter; (d) any variation in prize value to that stated in these Terms and Conditions; (e) if a National Carpenters Day BBQ is postponed/cancelled for any reason beyond the reasonable control of the Promoter; (f) any tax liability incurred by a winner or entrant; or (g) use of the Major Prize / attendance at the Challenge and/or Major Prize Game event.
13.The Promoter collects personal information in order to conduct the promotion and may, for this purpose, disclose such information to third parties, including but not limited to agents, contractors, service providers, prize suppliers and, as required, to Australian regulatory authorities. Entry is conditional on providing this information. The Promoter may, for an indefinite period, unless otherwise advised, use the information for promotional, marketing, publicity, research and profiling purposes, including sending electronic messages or telephoning the entrant. Entrants should direct any request to access, update or correct information to the Promoter. All entries become the property of the Promoter.
