The Snowy Mountains & ACT Bachelor & Bachelorette Contest
CALLING ALL ACT & SNOWY MOUNTAINS SINGLESEnter the Snow Much More Bachelor & Bachelorette contest to meet new people, raise money for a great cause, promote good health and wellbeing and most importantly to have a heap of fun whilst doing it.
This fundraiser will support:
* the Emergency Department, Cooma Hospital, now faced with a growing number of patients year round and badly in need of new refurbishment; and
* Snowy Hydro SouthCare to enable continued flights, appropriate equipment for crew and to keep the standard for care to critically ill patients high, giving patients the greatest chance of survival.
This search will conclude in an Award ceremony with an Auction of goods that have been assigned to contestants, following a series of media/publicity events and a physical challenge.
The search will commence on 12 December 2010. Entries will close 28 February 2011. Entrants will be posted within this period on our website and online voting will be available from 5 March 2011.
This contest will promote good health, social inclusion across districts where distance is vast (preventing isolation), the importance of physical activity and of course, our beautiful region.
There will be a series of meet and greet events in locations including a Market day in Cooma, venues in Cooma, Canberra and Jindabyne, a physical challenge and a finale auction of the goods assigned to contestants for fundraising in mid 2011.
www.snowmuchmore.com.au (Snow Much More) will broadcast developments as activities take place.
We envisage that the physical challenge will take place in early March or April 2011. You will be asked to participate in accordance within your fitness abilities but not beyond your fitness abilities.
Several weeks after the physical challenge, voting will stop and results will be announced. The website voting facility will provide data (how many votes collected per entrant). A maximum of five males and five females will be selected. Two weeks following counting of the votes, the Auction will take place. Judges will ultimately determine the results based on funds raised and votes.
Auctioning items is planned at the finale. Winning contestants will receive prizes to the value of $1,000 & a dinner for two valued at $250 in the Snowy Mountains region (one finalist female and finalist male), as well as an Award presented by Snow Much More for their participation.
We encourage entrants from diverse backgrounds, eg farming, skiing, engineers, water sport enthusiasts, horse riders, etc.
Businesses in the region and Canberra are invited to support
www.snowmuchmore.com.au through paid membership, which will give businesses great exposure, enable us to run this and other events and continue to best support our community. Public acknowledgement of supporting businesses will be posted to our website in February 2011 and will continue until the closing of the fundraising.
