DOCTOR ZHIVAGO THE MINI-SERIES DVD GIVEAWAY

Time Life DVD / Region 4 / Released January 12, 2010

Not content with being a hugely best selling novel and one of the best loved films of the 1960's, Doctor Zhivago was also given the prestigious mini series treatment a couple of years ago starring the gorgeous Keira Knightley and Hans Matheson. It is released on DVD this month and to celebrate we have five copies to give away!

Lavish of budget and huge of scope, this four hour production does justice to this love story set during the heat of the Russian Revolution. Hans Matheson is Doctor Zhivago who is caught in the eternal triangle and faced with the impossible choice of love with his childhood sweetheart or the beautiful Lara (Knightley).

This is completely compelling stuff amd there is a brilliant role for our own Sam Neill. Not to be missed!

Our competition runs until January 31, 2011. To be in with a chance to win one of five dvds of Doctor Zhivago all you have to do is tell us the who wrote the novel on which the mini-series is based? Also don't forget about our rather splendid daily newsletter. If you haven't signed up for this yet then what are you waiting for, a daily hit of all the latest stories, comps, reviews, features and news happening in the world of Memorable TV.

Entries must be sent to competition@memorabletv.com and must be titled "Doctor Zhivago". Good Luck!

Answer: Boris Pasternak

Doctor Zhivago (Russian: До́ктор Жива́го, Doktor Zhivago Russian pronunciation: [ˈdoktər ʐɪˈvaɡə]) is a 20th century novel by Boris Pasternak, first published in 1957. The novel is named after its protagonist, Yuri Zhivago, a physician and poet. It tells the story of Zhivago's life and how it is affected by the Russian Revolution of 1917 and the subsequent Russian Civil War.

The book was made into a film by David Lean in 1965, and since then has twice been adapted for television, most recently as a miniseries for Russian TV in 2006.[1]

Doctor Zhivago is a 2002 British television serial directed by Giacomo Campiotti and starring Keira Knightley and Sam Neill. The teleplay by Andrew Davies is loosely based on the 1957 novel of the same title by Boris Pasternak.
