Win back a good night's sleep in a luxury hotel in your capital city

These books are so scary, so thrilling, so un-put-down-ably good that we're sure they will keep you up all night!

Which is why we think we should make up for that lost night's sleep by offering readers the chance to win a night at the luxury hotel of their choice in their capital city.

All that crime buffs need to do is purchase one of our specially stickered crime titles and submit a short review (up to 75 words) of any of the books featured on our 'Keep you up all night' page.

One reviewer per book will be chosen as a winner and receive a night's accommodation at their selected hotel, to catch up on sleep ... or just for a little holiday from home!
The competition

The prize will be awarded each month to the entrants who write the best and most original reviews of any of the books featured on our 'Keep you up all night' page. There will be one winner per book.

The prize

Valued at up to $AUD500, the winning entrant will receive a night’s accommodation at the hotel of their choice in their capital city.

NB: You must retain your original proof of purchase (receipt) which will need to be produced if you win. Travel to and from the hotel and all extra room charges are at the winner’s expense.

Only one entry per title is allowed.
Entries (in the form of reviews) must be received within three months of the relevant book's publication. See our 'Keep you up all night' page for details.

The winning entry will be notified in writing and by phone. Winners' names will be published on our competition winners page. All entries become the property of Allen & Unwin and may be quoted on our website or in other communications.

Win back a good night’s sleep

1.    Information on how to enter and the prize form part of these Conditions of Entry.

2.    The Promoter is Allen & Unwin Pty Ltd (A.B.N 79 003 994 278) of 83 Alexander Street, Crows Nest, NSW 2065.

3.    A purchase of any of the titles featured in the 'Keep you up all night' promotion during the competition period entitles a person to enter the ‘Win back a good night’s sleep’ Competition. Entry is open to Australian residents only. Employees of Allen & Unwin Pty Ltd, anyone else connected to Allen & Unwin, and their immediate families are ineligible to enter. Eligible people (Entrants) who enter online at www.allenandunwin.com/competitions in accordance with these Conditions of Entry will be eligible to win. One (1) Entrant per book will be selected as the winner each month.

4.    To enter, a person must complete the ‘Win back a good night’s sleep’ online entry form in full on the Allen and Unwin website www.allenandunwin.com/competitions during the competition period and submit a review (up to 75 words) of one of the featured titles. Only one (1) entry per title is allowed.

5.    The entry submitted will be taken as the Entrant’s acceptance of assigning all rights and interests including but not limited to copyright and all other intellectual property rights of the Entrant’s to Allen & Unwin. Allen & Unwin reserves the right to edit or alter the Entrant’s submission.

6.    The prize is one night’s accommodation at the hotel of the winner's choice in the winner’s capital city, up to a value of $AUD500. The prize includes accommodation charges only and all extra room charges are the responsibility of the winner.

7.    The prize is to be booked through Allen & Unwin and the booking must be made and the prize redeemed within six months of being awarded.

8.    No portion of the prize is redeemable for cash. Any unused portion of the prize will be deemed forfeited by the winner.

9.    Prize is subject to availability. No cancellations, changes or refunds are available once the accommodation is booked. The prize is neither transferable nor redeemable for cash. Redemption of the prize is subject to any and all conditions specified by Allen & Unwin at the time of awarding the prize.

10.    The prize will be awarded to the entrant who, in the opinion of the judges, provides the best and most original review of any of the featured titles. Reviews may not exceed 75 words.

11.    Entries close three months after publication of the featured titles (see our 'Keep You Up All Night' page for details). Any entry received after that date will be ineligible. Entry by any person will be taken as acceptance of these Terms and Conditions. The judges’ decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.

12.    The winning entry will be notified in writing and by phone and be announced online on www.allenandunwin.com/competitions.

13.    If the winner of a prize is under the age of 18 years, the prize will be awarded to the winner's nominated parent or guardian.

14.    The Promoter shall not be liable for any loss or damage whatsoever which is suffered (including but not limited to indirect or consequential loss) or for personal injury which is suffered or sustained, as a result of taking the prize, except for any liability which cannot be excluded by law.

15.    Allen & Unwin will not accept responsibility for late entries, ailed, partial or garbled computer transmissions, or for technical failures of any kind, including but not limited to electronic malfunction or damage of any network, hardware or software. Entries that are forged, incomplete, illegible or do not comply with the terms and conditions will be deemed invalid. If for any reason this Competition is not capable of running as planned, including infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorised intervention, fraud, technical failures, or other causes that corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of this Competition, Allen & Unwin reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to disqualify any individual who tampers with the entry process, and to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend this Competition. No responsibility is assumed for: any error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or transmission, communications line failure, theft or destruction or unauthorised access to, or alteration of, entries; or any problems or technical malfunctions of any telephone network or lines, computer online systems, servers, or providers, computer equipment, software, failure of any e-mail or electronic entry to be received on account of technical problems or traffic congestion on the Internet or at any web site, or any combination thereof, including any injury or damage to Entrant’s or any other person’s computer related to or resulting from participation in or downloading any materials from this Competition. In the event of a dispute over an electronic entry, prize will be awarded to the name on the Entry Form and Release, not the owner of the e-mail account.

16.    Allen & Unwin may conduct such further judging as is necessary on 31 May 2011 in order to distribute any prize unclaimed by that date, or if the original winner is deemed ineligible. If a re-draw is required, the winner will be notified by phone or mail.

17.    The Promoter collects entrant’s personal information in order to conduct the promotion. If the information requested is not provided, the entrant may not participate in the promotion. Allen & Unwin respects your privacy. Your personal details will only be used for the purpose of this promotion unless you nominate otherwise. An Allen & Unwin Privacy Statement is available online at www.allenandunwin.com. The winners name may be published. A request to access, update or correct any information should be directed to the Promoter at the address set out above.
