More than just religiousity though, these stories cross the boundaries into excellent drama and are well worth seeking out.

The Old Testament of the Christian Bible is identical with the Hebrew Bible, except that some books are separated; for example Kings of the Hebrew Bible is 1 Kings and 2 Kings in the Christian Bible, and Ezra and Nehemiah are one book in the Hebrew Bible but two books in the Christian Bible.

The Roman Catholic and Eastern Orthodox Church include 7 additional books called deuterocanonical books, or apocrypha.

There is no single Bible, and both the individual books (Biblical canon), their contents and their order vary between denominations. Mainstream Judaism divides the Tanakh into 24 books, while a minority stream of Judaism, the Samaritans, accepts only five. The 24 texts of the Hebrew Bible are divided into 39 books in Christian Old Testaments, and complete Christian Bibles range from the 66 books of the Protestant canon to the 81 books in the Ethiopian Orthodox Bible.[2]
