The fabulous British comedy icon Dick Emery has his three rare specials that he made for Thames TV released on DVD this month and we have four copies to give away!

For much of the 1960′s and 70′s Dick Emery had been a big star at the BBC but like many comedy stars of the day (such as Morecambe and Wise) was lured by a higher pay packet to the commercial ITV Network. Made between 6 June 1979 and 3 December 1980 these three specials made for Thames features Emery at the top of his game, supremely confident in the characters he has created and able to attract some big names like Lynda “Wonder Woman” Carter, Francoise Pascal, Beryl Reid and Gemma Craven to the fray.

All of Emery’s favourite characters are here – Mandy (“ooh you are awful but I like you”), the toothsome vicar and camp Clarence to name just a few. Extremely funny and the kind of humour that never dates. Simply wonderful.
