Pop princess Kylie Minogue channels the goddess of love and sexuality in her spectacular stage show Aphrodite coming to Brisbane.
The two-hour, $25million show is being touted as being her most spectacular yet, featuring water-filled sets, flying trapeze artists and a dizzying array of diamante-clad dancers and Greek mythology-inspired costumes.
The production features the most technically advanced stage to ever be created for an arena, with more than a million moving parts, including 30 high-impact water jets, rain curtains and fountains, which will recycle over 25,000 litres of water per minute through 48 specially designed fountain heads.
The cast of 25 includes a six-piece band, 10 dancers and eight high-flying aerialists, who will wear more than 200 costumes adorned by more than one million diamante crystals and almost 1,000 feathers. The “Aphrodite” herself will wear eight elaborate costumes designed by Dolce & Gabbana.
Fans can even watch from the centre of the action, with the purpose-built “Splash Zone” to be built within the stage itself. Tickets for these seats at the Brisbane show sold for a cool $400 each and were snapped up within hours of going on sale last week. A limited number of general admission tickets were still available at press time, but selling fast.
