Terms & Conditions
1. Information on how to enter and prizes form part of these conditions.
2. The Promoter is Radio 2UE, 170 Pacific Hwy, Greenwich 2065 NSW. Ph: 02 9930 9954.
3. Entry is open to Australian residents only and entry is deemed as acknowledgement and
acceptance of Conditions of Entry.
4. Fairfax Radio employees, Solar Switch employees, their immediate families and any agencies
associated with this promotion are excluded from entry.
5. 4 x major prizes and 16 x minor prizes will be allocated in total.
6. Minor Prizes:
I. Solar Switch will pay 16 X minor cash prizes of $140 each to prize winners selected by 2UE
between Monday 2nd May and Thursday 5th May 2011.
II. Payment will be in the form of a direct debit into a nominated bank account. Payment will be
made within 6 weeks of the 6th May 2011.
7. Major Prizes:
I. Solar Switch will supply and install 1 X 1.44kW solar electricity system to the home or business of
4 winners (4 systems in total).
II. One major winner will be drawn per session - Breakfast, Morning, Afternoon & Drive, on 2UE on
Friday 6th May 2011.
III. Only one system can be installed per premises.
IV. Anyone who already has a solar electricity system installed at their nominated premises is not
eligible to win this prize.
V. The prize includes installation on a tile or colorbond roof, that is flat or pitched to a maxiumum of
35 degrees and the building must be no more than 3 storey’s high, otherwise extra costs may
apply. This cost is deemed outside of the prize and payable by the winner.
VI. Each prize includes installation at a home or business within 80km of Sydney, Newcastle,
Wollongong, Brisbane, Canberra, or 40km of Adelaide. Installations outside this area will incurr
travel and logistics fees at Solar Switch’s discretion, these fees will be deemed outised of the prize
and payable by the customer.
VII. As a winner of the promotion you agree to assign the Solar Credits Rebate or STCs (Small Scale
Technology Certificates) earned by the won system to Solar Switch Pty Ltd. You agree to sign all
documentation necessary for Solar Switch to claim the STCs or Solar Credits Rebate. If you are
not eligible for the “Solar Credits Reabte” (STC Multiplier) and so are not able to assign this Solar
Credits Rebate to Solar Switch you are not eligible to win this prize.
VIII. The prize winner must allow Solar Switch to install the solar power system before June 30th 2011
(when the Solar Credits Rebate Reduces). If the install is delayed beyond this date by the prize
winner they will be liable to pay an extra $1200 to Solar Switch if they still wish to redeem the
prize. If not the prize will become null and void.
IX. The prize is non-transferable unless otherwise negotiated with the Directors of Solar Switch, and
this is at the sole discretion of Solar Switch.
X. Each system available in the promotion may range from 1.44kW to 1.55kW and the exact panels
and inverter used from our range will be decided at the sole discretion of Solar Switch Pty Ltd.
XI. If you wish to upgrade the system you have won (eg. from a 1.5kW to a 2kW system) there will be
a minimum charge of $950 per panel, plus any applicable install extras for the balance of the
system above the prize.
XII. To qualify for this promotion, Solar Switch require a minimum of 12 square metres of available
and suitable roof space (ie unshaded and facing North, West Or East), otherwise other
arrangements will need to be made at the discretion of Solar Switch– as the installation may not
be able to be carried out.
XIII. This prize is not redeemable for cash.
XIV. The major prize winners are not eligible for any other offers, cashbacks or discounts Solar Switch
may be offering.
XV. Solar Switch may at its descretion decide that a building or roof is unsafe to install on (eg an
asbestos roof) and may make alternate arrangements with the prize winner at SolarSwitch’s
discretion.
XVI. If you have already ordered a system from Solar Switch or have already had a system installed by
Solar Switch you are not eligible to win this prize.
XVII. A member of the Solar Switch staff will be in contact to conduct a thorough assessment over the
phone to determine the suitability of your home to have your prize installed.
XVIII. Winners will be requested to send a photo of their relevant metrebox. The prize only includes
wiring to a meter box or sub-board which is located on the same building that the panels are to
be installed, it does not include wiring or trench digging to a meter box separate to the building
the panels are to be installed on.
XIX. This agreement includes the cost to purchase and install the new meter, which follows the
installation of the solar system, however it does not include any further switchboard upgrades
that are occasionally required or any other home electrical work.
XX. I understand that different energy retailers and/or distributors have different rules, requirements
and rates in regard to what they will pay me for the solar electricity I generate, and what they will
charge me for the electricity I use from the grid. I am solely responsible for checking the terms
and conditions for any retailer I enter into an agreement with. I understand that I may need to
switch energy retailers in order to receive any solar electricity buy back (feed-in tariff).
XXI. All other normal terms and conditions on Solar Switch order form apply.
8. All winners will be notified of their win by way of live on-air announcement and written
correspondence.
9. If a prize winner is under the age of 18 years, the prize will be awarded to their parent or legal
guardian.
10. No responsibility is accepted for any variation in the value of the prize.
11. The Promoter accepts no responsibility for any tax liability incurred as a result of an entrant
participating in the Promotion.
12. Entrants should obtain independent tax and financial advice.
13. Should Solar Switch be unable to provide the prize as outlined, nor replace it with a similar
prize the Promoter (2UE) will not be liable to replace the prize, or provide a prize of similar
value.
14. The Promoter shall not be liable for any part of the Prize that is lost, stolen, forged, damaged
or tampered with in any way before it reaches the winner.
15. All contestants release from, and indemnify 2UE and Fairfax Radio Network against, all liability,
cost, loss or expense arising out of accepting the prize or participation in the competition
including (but not limited to) loss of income and/or personal injury.
16. All information collected will be kept for administrative purposes only.
17. Radio 2UE reserves the right to request winners provide proof of identity and proof of
residency at the nominated prize delivery address. Identification considered suitable for
verification is at the discretion of the promoter.
18. The use of false name or address, ie name by which the entrant is not usually known will
disqualify them from receiving the prize.
19. To the full extent permitted by law, the Promoter, its associated companies and agencies and
any of their personnel (the "Relevant Parties") exclude all liability for any loss (including any
damage, claim, injury, cost or expense) which is suffered or incurred by any Eligible Entrant in
connection with the Promotion, including: (i) any indirect, economic or consequential loss; (ii)
any loss arising from the negligence of a Relevant Party; (iii) any liability for personal injury or
death.
20. 2UE reserve the right to refuse the allocation of a minor or major prize should a listener have
won any prizes more than once within the following periods:
I. For prizes less than $500 – no more than once every 30 days
II. For prizes between $501 - $1,000 – no more than once every 6 months
III. For prizes over $1,000 – no more than once per 12 months
If a listener has won more than once in the above periods it is classed as a breach of the ruled
and the prize will not be awarded.
21. 2UE has the right to ban competition winners from entering other 2UE competitions that they
deem have broken the rules of the general prize giveaways for a period of 12 months. The
winner will be advised of this in writing after the entrant has been disqualified.
22. The major prize winner may not enter any other 2UE promotions for another 12 months
commencing from 6th May 2012.
23. By accepting the prize, the winner agrees to participate in and co-operate as required with all
reasonable media editorial requests relating to the prize, including but not limited to, being
interviewed and photographed, filmed and/or chaperoned throughout the duration of the
prize.
24. All winners are automatically entered on the 2UE database.
25. Notwithstanding any other condition of these specific competition rules, 2UE reserves the
right to withdraw the competition at any time and for any reason whatsoever.
26. Acceptance of the prize is deemed acceptance of the Terms and Conditions.
