Almay – Win a Day In The Life of competition
Terms and Conditions

1. Information on how to enter and prizes form part of these terms and conditions. Any entry not
complying with these Terms and Conditions is invalid. Participation in this competition is deemed
acceptance of these Terms and Conditions. Please note this prize is only representative of what a day
in the life of Kate Hudson ( a spokesperson for Almay) is like as determined by the Promoters. The
Promoters make no representation that this is actually a what a day in the life of Kate Hudson consists
of. The promotion is for entertainment purposes only. Neither the prize nor the promotion is in any way
associated with, or approved by Kate Hudson or her representatives.
2. Entry is only open to residents of Australia aged 18 years and over. Employees of the Promoters, their
immediate families, and any agencies associated with this promotion are ineligible to enter.
3. The competition commences 13 April 2011 and concludes 17 May 2011 at 11:59pm (AEST)
(“Competition Period”).

4. Entry is via email, To enter Tell us in 25 words or less: “Why you want to live like Kate for a day?”
Valid entries must contain the following information:
a) A statement of no more than 25 words on: “Why you want to live like Kate for a day?”;
b) your first and last name;
c) your address;
d) your daytime contact telephone number and
e) your email address
Submit your completed entry via email to katealmaypromotion@acpmagazines.com.au.
5. Entry is limited to one per person. The Promoters reserve the right to verify the validity of entries,
entrants' identity and place of residence, and to disqualify any entrant who submits an entry that is not
in accordance with these Terms and Conditions or who tampers with the entry process. Errors and
omissions may be accepted at the Promoters discretion. Failure by the Promoters to enforce any of
their rights at any stage does not constitute a waiver of those rights.
6. The competition will be judged by a panel of judges appointed by the Promoters. Judging will take
place at the Promoters premises and will commence on 24th May, 2011. The Winners will be notified
by phone and in writing using contact details provided in their entry. Notification will take place by
email on 26th May, 2011. This competition is a game of skill and chance plays no part in determining
the winner. All valid entries received during the Competition Period will be individually judged based
on literary and creative merit and originality.

7. The best entry as determined by the judges will be deemed the Major Prize winner and will receive
the Major prize to live like Kate for a day. The live like Kate for a day package is awarded in the form
of a trip for two to Sydney valued at $13,923. The prize includes 2 return flights, $2,000 shopping trip
with the Madsion fashion team, overnight shared accommodation in a luxury hotel in Sydney,
limousine transfers to / from the airport, attend a madison fashion shoot and dinner at Sydney Hatted
restaurant up to $500.
8. Total Prize pool is valued at $13,923. Prize does not include additional meals, drinks
accommodation, spending money or any ancillary costs associated with redeeming the prize. These
are the responsibility of the winner. Prize must be redeemed as a package and must be redeemed in
full by 28th May, 2012. Exact date of redemption is subject to booking and availability of the madison
fashion team and must coincide with a scheduled madison shoot. $2000 spending money for
shopping trip with the madison fashion team component of the prize will be awarded in the form of a
cheque made in favour of the winner. Any costs in excess of the $2000 (including GST) and all
ancillary costs associated with redeeming this component of the prize are the responsibility of the
winner. Selection of members of the madison fashion team that will accompany the winner on their
prize winning shopping spree will be determined at the complete discretion of the Promoters. Choice
of luxury hotel which accommodation component of the prize will be redeemable at will be determined
at the complete discretion of the Promoters. $500 meal will be awarded in the form of a voucher made
in favour of the winner to the Promoters choice of a Sydney hatted restaurant. Selection of restaurant
and redemption of dinner is subject to booking and availability of the date of travel. Choice of madison
shoot that the winner and their companion will attend is determined at the complete discretion of the
Promoter. Location of shoot is subject to booking on the date of redemption.
9. Unless otherwise stated prize will not be redeemed in cash or vouchers. The Promoters take no
responsibility for any prizes lost or damages in transit. In the event the winner is a resident of Sydney,
the flight component of the prize will not be included.
10. It is a condition of accepting the prize that the winner may be requested to present their credit card
upon arrival at the hotel to cover all incidentals they may incur including their stay at the hotel. In the
event that a portion of the prize is awarded to the winner in the form of a voucher / ticket / pass/ letter,
redemption of that portion of the prize will be subject to the terms and conditions stipulated on the
voucher / ticket / pass/ letter. The Promoters will not be liable for any voucher / ticket / pass/ letter that
has been lost, stolen, forged, damaged or tampered with in any way. Redemption of each component
of the prize is subject to the standard terms and conditions and guidelines of the accommodation
venue and the activity service provider. Failure to follow the standard rules and guidelines presented
will result in the winner forfeiting their right to participate in the said activity.

11. It is a condition of accepting the prize that the winner sign any and all legal documentation (including
but not limited to a legal release) as requested by the Promoters. Form of documentation will be
determined by the Promoter in its complete discretion.
12. Except for any liability that cannot be excluded by law, the Promoters (including their officers,
employees and agents) exclude all liability (including negligence), for any personal injury; or any loss
or damage (including loss of opportunity); whether direct, indirect, special or consequential, arising in
any way out of this promotion, including, but not limited to, where arising out of the following: (a) any
technical difficulties or equipment malfunction (whether or not under the Promoters control); (b) any
theft, unauthorized access or third party interference; (c) any entry or prize claim that is late, lost,
altered, damaged or misdirected (whether or not after their receipt by the Promoters) due to any
reason beyond the reasonable control of the Promoters; (d) any variation in prize value to that stated
in these Terms and Conditions; (e) any tax liability incurred by a winner or entrant; (f) redemption of
the prize and (g) participation in the promotion.
13. Promoters decision in relation to all aspects of this competition is final and binding on all who enter
and no correspondence will be entered into.
14. In the event that the prize is unavailable for any reason whatsoever, the Promoters reserve the right
to substitute a different prize item of equal or greater value and/or specification.
15. The Promoters are not responsible for any incorrect or inaccurate information, or for any of the
equipment or programming associated with or utilised in this competition, or for any technical error
that may occur in the course of the administration of this competition. The Promoters assumes no
responsibility for any error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or transmission,
communications line failure, theft or destruction or unauthorised access to or alteration of entries. The
Promoters reserves the right (subject to all relevant state/ territory rules and regulations) to cancel,
postpone or reschedule the promotion, if it deems in its complete discretion that the integrity and
fairness of the promotion has been compromised in any manner whatsoever.
16. In the event of war, terrorism, state of emergency or disaster (including but not limited to natural
disaster), the Promoters reserve the right (subject to reference to all relevant state/ territory rules and
regulations) to either provide an alternative prize package to the same value as the original prize or to
cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the promotion.
17. All entries submitted in connection with this promotion becomes the property of the Promoters Entries
will not be returned to any entrant. As a condition of entering into this promotion, each entrant agrees
to assign all of their rights, title and interest (including copyright) in and to their entry to the Promoters.
Each entrant warrants to the Promoters that each entry submitted is an original creative work of the
entrant which does not infringe the rights of any third party. The entrant agrees to indemnify the
Promoters against all claims and costs by third parties arising from a breach of the warranty set out in
this condition. The Promoters are entitled to use any of the entries submitted for any purposes at its

discretion, including for any future promotion, marketing and publicity purposes without any further
reference or payment or other compensation to the entrant.
18. The collection, use and disclosure of personal information provided in connection with the promotion
is goverened by the ACP Magazines Ltd Privacy Notice (see contents page of madison for location in
each issue) and the Revlon Australia Pty Ltd Privacy Notice (see www.revlon.com.au]
19. By entering the competition, the entrant consents to receipt of any email regarding the competition,
and other emails which inform the entrant of the Promoters other publications, products, services and
events and to promote third party goods and services it may be interested in. If you do not wish to
receive any future marketing communications please notify the Promoters in writing.
