TERMS AND CONDITIONS FOR INTERNATIONAL HOP COMPETITION
1. This document sets out the rules for this competition. Make sure you read them carefully and
understand them all before you enter the competition. By entering, you promise to follow and
be bound by these rules.
2. Remember to get your parent’s or legal guardian’s permission before entering the competition.
Once they give you the go-ahead, you can enter the competition by going to the website which
corresponds to your region of entry (as detailed at paragraph 7 below), following the online
instructions and providing an answer to the question “E.B dreams of being a rock star. Watch
the trailer and tell us in thirty (30) words or less what you want to be and why?” (“the
Question”) Be creative!
3. Costs to enter the competition online may vary so don’t forget to ask the person paying the bill
for their permission to enter this competition.
4. The opening date for entries is on 4 April 2011 for countries (a) to (f) below and 17 March
2011 for countries (g) to (m).
5. The closing date for entries is on 20 May 2011. Any entries received after this time will not be
valid, so make sure you enter on time!
6. To enter this competition, you must be aged between seven (7) and fourteen (14). Sorry, but
you are not allowed to enter if anyone of your parents/legal guardians, brothers or sisters,
grandparents, aunts or uncles or first cousins work at MTV Networks Europe (“MTV”), any
Nickelodeon entity (“Nick”) or Universal Pictures International Limited (“Universal”).7. You can only enter this competition if you live in one of the following regions (the “Regions”):

aspects of this competition and if you or your parent(s) or legal guardians(s) have any

nickelodeon.competitions@mtvne.com and include the reference MTV/VBSI, Ref:
“International Hop Competition”.
9. We can only accept one (1) entry per person to this competition. This means you are only
allowed to submit one (1) entry. Multiple entries will be void and the entrant disqualified.
10. Your entry must include your name, age, address (including postcode), your telephone contact
number, your e-mail address and your answer to the question. Your entry must also include
your parent or legal guardian’s name, their email address and their daytime and evening
contact telephone numbers.505843
11. Please take care when entering the competition and make sure that your entry is complete.
Entries that are incomplete or that cannot be clearly heard, viewed or read will not be entered
into the competition.
12. MTV and Nick cannot accept responsibility for any entries which are lost, delayed,
misdirected, damaged or undelivered. Also, MTV and Nick cannot be responsible if you can’t
enter the competition for technical reasons, for example if there is a problem with phone
networks or access to the Internet.
13. The winners will be chosen as follows:
(a) One (1) first prize winner from each Region. This will be the entrant who submits the most
original and imaginative answer in his/her Region to the Question (each a “First Prize
Winner” and collectively the “First Prize Winners”).
(b) Two (2) second prize winners from each Region. This will be the entrants who submit the
next two (2) most original and imaginative answers in their Region to the Question (each a
“Second Prize Winner” and collectively the “Second Prize Winners”).
(c) Five (5) runners up from each Region to receive a consolation prize, and be will those
entrants who although did not provide an answer as original and imaginative as the First
Prize Winner and the Second Prize Winners, provided a creative enough answer to be
deserving of a consolation prize (each a “Runner Up” and collectively the “Runners Up”).
14. The entries of all of the First Prize Winners will then be judged against each other and the
most original and imaginative answer to the Question out of all the First Prize Winners will be
the grand prize winner (the “Grand Prize Winner”).
15. All entries will be judged by a Nickelodeon and Universal panel (in their sole discretion). The
Grand Prize Winner, First Prize Winners, Second Prize Winners and Runners up will be
selected on or before 3 June 2011.
16. The prizes are as follows:
The Grand Prize Winner:
The Grand Prize Winner shall receive one (1) limited edition hollow egg made of solid 9 carat
gold.
The value of the Grand Prize is approximately one thousand eight hundred pounds sterling
(£1800).=$ 2410.00AUD
The First Prize Winners:
Each First Prize Winner shall receive:
(a) one (1) Xbox 360 250 GB home video game console;
(b) one (1) “Lego Rock Band” Xbox 360 game; and
(c) one (1) “Madcatz Rock Band Portable Drum Kit” for the Xbox 360.
The value of the first prize is approximately two hundred and twenty one pounds sterling and
twenty one pence (£221.21).= $296.25 AUD
Second Prize Winners:
Each Second Prize Winner shall receive:
(a) one (1) backpack;
(b) one (1) pair of egg shaped mini speakers; and505843
(c) one (1) pair of EB costume ears.
The value of the prize for Second Prize Winners is approximately twenty eight pounds sterling
and thirty nine pence (£28.39). =$38.00AUD
Runners Up:
Each Runner Up shall receive:
(a) one (1) pair of EB costume ears; and
(b) one (1) chocolate bunny.
The value of the Runners Up prize is approximately fourteen pounds sterling and ninety five
pence (£14.95). $20.00 AUD
17. All that is included in the prizes is set out above. No additional costs are included. No cash
alternatives will be offered. The prizes cannot be exchanged or transferred. If, because of
something that MTV cannot control, MTV is unable to provide a prize, or any part thereof,
MTV reserves the right to send you a different prize of the same value. All prizes may be
subject to the additional terms and conditions of the manufacturer or supplier of the prize.
Further, all elements of the prizes are subject to availability.
18. The Grand Prize Winner, First Prize Winners, Second Prize Winners and Runners Up are
responsible for any applicable taxes and expenses not specified in the prize description.
19. You promise that you have obtained your parent’s or legal guardian’s permission before
entering this competition. Before sending out your prize, we may ask your parent or legal
guardian to confirm that they have given you this permission. We may also send them a copy
of these rules and ask them to sign and return them to MTV/VBSI (ref: International Hop
Competition), UK House, 180 Oxford Street, London W1D 1DS. If you are the Grand Prize
Winner or a First Prize Winner, MTV may require your parent or legal guardian to sign an
agreement confirming that they consent to dealing with certain aspects of the prize.
20. If you have been selected as the Grand Prize Winner and/or a First Prize Winner someone
from MTV will contact you via telephone or email within 48 hours of selection and speak to
both you and your parent/legal guardian. You and your parent/legal guardian will receive
confirmation of the full details of the prize via email as soon as possible after confirming to you
that you have been selected to win a prize.
21. If you have been selected as a Second Prize Winner or a Runner Up you will receive your
prize in the post within twenty-eight (28) days of being selected. Prizes will be sent to the
address you give us when entering, so make sure the details are all right!
22. MTV has the right to choose another Grand Prize Winner, First Prize Winner, Second Prize
Winner or Runner Up if:
(a) You cannot be reached within twenty four (24) hours of first trying to contact you;
or
(b) MTV believes that you have broken one of the rules set out in this document; or
(c) Your parent(s) or legal guardian(s) do not agree to you entering this competition
and/or do not agree to these rules and/or do not agree to you receiving the
prize(s).
23. MTV’s decision is final with respect to any aspect of the competition, including the choice of
the Grand Prize Winner, First Prize Winners, Second Prize Winners or Runners-up.
24. By entering into this competition you agree that MTV and Nick may use your entry, name
and/or likeness, voice, photographs and/or video footage, biographical information you
provided and/or any statement made by you concerning the competition and/or the prize(s) in 505843
connection with publicizing the competition, in any and all media in perpetuity throughout the
world as MTV and/or Nick in their discretion see fit.
25. No purchase necessary.
26. Only entries from individuals will be accepted. Any entries that MTV believes have (a) been
made via participation in a syndicate or (b) via any form of machine assisted intervention
enabling computer generated multiple entries, will be disqualified.
27. MTV and/or Nick will not be liable to you or your parent(s) and/or legal guardian(s) for any
delays or failure (in whole or in part) to perform any of its obligations if such delay or failure is
caused by something beyond their reasonable control including, for example, delays,
changes, disruptions, cancellations, diversions or substitutions however they are caused
including without limitation as a result of war, terrorist action or threatened terrorist action,
strikes, hostilities, civil commotions, accidents, fire, flood or natural catastrophes or arising
without limitation out of or in connection with (i) the activities of third party event organisers; (ii)
any form of transportation (including but not limited to flights, trains, coaches, buses, ferries,
taxis or cars); and/or (iii) by third parties providing accommodation included in the prize. You
and/or your parent(s) or legal guardian(s) will be solely liable for any additional costs incurred
as a result.
28. You can get a list of names of the Grand Prize Winner, First Prize Winners and/or Second
Prize Winners and/or Runners up by sending a stamped, self-addressed envelope to
MTV/VBSI, ref: “International HOP Competition”, UK House, 180 Oxford Street, London, W1D
1DS, for one (1) month after the Winners, Second Prize Winners and Runners Up have been
selected.
29. When entering the competition, your personal information, such as your name, age, address
(including postcode), telephone number and/or email address:
(a) will be used solely in connection with this competition and as set out in these
rules;
(b) will not be disclosed to any third party, except for the purpose of fulfilling a prize
or a request for information as permitted by paragraph 28; and
(c) will be held on record for a short period and then destroyed.
30. You agree to follow these rules and be bound by these terms and conditions, which MTV may
change at any time on notice.
31. These terms and conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws
of England and Wales and the courts of England shall have exclusive jurisdiction in relation to
any disputes arising there from.
