Acting titan Lord Laurence Olivier bestrode the worlds of stage, film and television and was master of them all. Proving that very well is the superb three disc set that is The Olivier Collection which is released on DVD this month and we have five copies to give away.
The collection focuses on Olivier’s film career and features four absolutely top notch movies that range from one of Olivier’s earliest film roles in The Divorce of Lady X, which sees him co-starring with Merle Oberon. Q-Planes is a fabulous 1939 flick with Olivier partnered with the equally fab Ralph Richardson in an investigation into missing British planes.
Lady Hamilton from the early 1940’s sees Olivier in Hollywood and starring with his wife Vivien Leigh in the story of the relationship between Lord Nelson and Lady Hamilton. Finally there is the staggering National Theatre production of Eugene O’Neill’s Long Journey Into Night.
Whatever the production Olivier always manages to be completly spellbinding, don’t miss this one!
