Are you a budding writer? A queen of craft? Or simply need to get something off your chest? Blogging is a great way to express yourself, share knowledge, and be part of the online community. And at Kleenex Mums, we want to send parents like you soaring off into the blogosphere.
That’s why we have launched So You Think You Can Blog – an online writing competition that gives Australian mums everywhere a chance at blogging stardom.
Simply submit a 500 to 800 word post on a parenting-related topic of your choice and you could be published on Kleenex Mums. There’s no limit on the number of posts that we’ll publish, if your post passes the scrutiny of our judging panel then it’ll go on the site! You can enter as many times as you like, just make sure each submission is a new post. It doesn’t matter if you’ve never written a blog post before, or if you’ve already got an established blog of your own, the competition is open to any parent who wants to write.
Plus we’re also giving away some great prizes. Our best blog entry will take home the much-coveted iPad2, and everyone who gets a post published will receive a cute overnight bag!
We’re after posts on almost any topic. So long as it relates to your life as a parent, we’re happy to look at it. In particular we would love you to:
•share your unique knowledge and parenting insights
•write about what you are really good at, or what makes being a parent worthwhile
•keep to one topic per post
•offer a unique, funny or different outlook on everyday life
•submit positive and upbeat stories that people will love to read

Terms and Conditions
“So you think you can blog” Promotion – Conditions of Entry
1 Information on how to enter and prizes forms part of these Conditions of Entry. Entry into the “So you think you can blog” Promotion (Promotion) is deemed to be an acceptance of these Conditions of Entry.
2 The Promotion commences 11 May 2011 at 10:00am AEST and closes 30 June 2011 at 11.59pm AEST (Promotion Period).
3 Entry is only open to Australian residents who are members of Kleenex Mums. If you are not already a member you can join online at
www.kleenexmums.com.au. Employees (and their immediate families) of the Promoter, or agencies or companies associated with the conduct of this Promotion, are ineligible to enter.
Entry
4 This is a game of skill and chance plays no part in determining the winner.
5 To enter (Entry) the entrant must:
(1) log onto
www.kleenexmums.com.au (Kleenex Mums Website);
(2) click on the competition links featured throughout the Kleenex Mums Website or as featured on the Kleenex Mums Website to enter the Promotion;
(3) complete all the information requested for Entry into the Promotion including:
(a) personal contact information;
(b) the title of your blog post/article you are entering;
© an upload of the blog post/article you are entering that is between 500 to 800 words;
(d) the selected category that best describes your blog post/article you are entering;
(e) a photo or avatar of yourself
(f) a brief biography
(g) a photo to illustrate your blog post/article you are entering (optional);
(4) follow the link in the email sent by the Promoter to confirm Entry into the Promotion prior to the end of the Promotion Period.
Judging of Entries
6 All Entries including the blog post/article being entered must be the sole work of the entrant.
7 Entries are deemed to be received by the Promoter at the time the entrant confirms the Entry by following the link in the email sent by the Promoter. Records of the Promoter are final and conclusive as to time of receipt.
8 An entrant may enter more than once. However, each Entry must contain a new blog post/article.
9 The Promoter and its associated agencies or companies accept no responsibility for any lost, late, stolen, damaged or misdirected Entry.
10 The Promoter has no control over internet or mobile telephone communications, network lines, bugs/ viruses and server problems and accepts no responsibility for any problems associated with them, for whatever reason.
11 Any entry that is lodged by automatic, repetitive, robotic, programmed or similar entry methods or agents, including the use of a competition entry service (as determined in the absolute discretion of the Promoter) will void the entrant’s entry.
12 The Promoter reserves the right to reject any blog posts/articles with profane titles or content or slanderous titles or content as determined in the Promoter’s absolute discretion.
13 The Promoter reserves the right to validate and check the authenticity of entries and to disqualify any entries which do not meet validation criteria or which are not submitted in accordance with these Conditions of Entry.
14 All valid Entries will be continuously judged by a panel of writer experts approved by the Promoter throughout the Promotion Period.
15 The Promoter will continuously publish on the Kleenex Mums Website, throughout the Promotion Period, Entries that are judged by the panel of writer experts to be of a high quality (Published Entry). Any photos submitted with an Entry will not be considered by the panel of writer experts in determining whether the Entry is of a suitable quality for publishing on the Kleenex Mums Website.
16 Each Published Entry will receive a minor prize (Minor Prize). A total of five hundred (500) Minor Prizes can be awarded. The winners of the Minor Prizes will be notified by email within two (2) working days of their Entry being published on the Kleenex Mums Website.
17 All valid Entries (including the winners of the Minor Prizes) will be judged at 10:00 AEST on 8 July 2011 at Kimberly-Clark Australia, 52 Alfred Street, Milsons Point, NSW 2061 having regard to the overall quality of the Entry, including creativity, novelty, composition, creative merit and originality. The best entry will win the Main Prize.
18 The Promoter’s decision is final, and no correspondence will be entered into, including in the event of a dispute.
19 The winner of the Main Prize will be notified by email on 11 July 2011. The Main Prize winner’s name will be published on the Kleenex Mums website by 11 July 2011 and in The Australian on 18 July 2011.
20 If the Main Prize is not claimed by 24 October 2011, the winner will forfeit the Main Prize. The Promoter may award the forfeited Main Prize to the next-best entry as determined by the panel of writer experts appointed by the Promoter. The winner of any unclaimed Main Prize will be notified by email on 26 October 2011. The winner of any unclaimed Main Prize will be published on the Kleenex Mums website by 2 November 2011 and in The Australian on 2 November 2011.
Prizes
21 The Main Prize consists of an Apple iPad 2 with Wi-Fi + 3G 32GB (black color).
22 The Minor Prize consists of an overnight travel bag set from Cher International that includes one (1) overnight travel bag and one (1) matching toiletries bag.
23 The Main Prize is valued at $839. The Minor Prize is valued at $40 each with up to five hundred (500) to be won making the Minor Prize pool valued at $20,000. The total prize pool is up to a maximum of $20,839. The value of the prize(s) is accurate and based upon the recommended retail price(s) at the date of printing. The Promoter accepts no responsibility for any variation in the value of the prize(s) after that date.
24 The prizes cannot be transferred, exchanged or redeemed for cash. The prizes must be taken as offered and cannot be varied by the winner. The Promoter retains the right to substitute the prizes with a prize or prizes of equal or greater value (including where the prize is unavailable), subject to approval of the gaming authorities in each State and Territory where relevant.
General
25 All tax liability arising as a result of accepting any prize is the responsibility of the winners.
26 The Promoter shall not be liable for any loss or damage whatsoever which is suffered (including but not limited to indirect or consequential loss) or for any personal injury suffered or sustained as a result of the Promotion or receiving, taking or using the prizes except for any liability which cannot be excluded by law.
27 If for any reason this Promotion is not capable of running as planned, the Promoter reserves the right in its discretion to modify the Conditions of Entry.
28 If any act or omission, event or circumstance occurs which is beyond the reasonable control of the Promoter and which prevents the Promoter from complying with these Conditions of Entry, the Promoter will not be liable for any failure to perform or delay in performing its obligation and the Promoter reserves the right (subject to any applicable law) to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the Promotion.
29 All claims and entries become the property of the Promoter.
30 By entering this Promotion, you grant the Promoter an exclusive, royalty-free, perpetual, worldwide licence to use and exploit your response to the Promotion question by all means whatsoever (including, without limitation, in print and electronic format). In addition, you consent to the Promoter and the Promoter’s related body corporates and agents infringing your moral rights in your response to the Promotion question for an indefinite period of time by amending or modifying (whether by changing, adding to or deleting/removing) any part of your response to the Promotion question.
31 The winners’ blog post/article (with or without the photo included in the Entry) will be reproduced on the Kleenex Mums Website for an indefinite period of time. The winners will be named as the author of the blog post/article. All winners are free to contact Kleenex Mums on
info@kleenexmums.com.au if they would like to supply further pictures relating directly to their posts.
32 The winners agree to participate in any news media activities surrounding the Promotion. The Promoter reserves the right to use the winners’ name, voice, image and likeness for advertising and publicity purposes in any media in perpetuity without additional compensation.
33 The Promoter requires your personal information in order to conduct the Promotion. If you do not provide the mandatory personal information requested then you will not be able to take part in the Promotion. By entering this Promotion, each entrant is taken to consent to the Promoter using the entrant’s personal information to administer the Promotion and disclosing the entrant’s personal information to organisations that assist the Promoter with administering the Promotion, and to third parties as required by law. The Promoter is bound by the National Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and by entering the Promotion, the entrant is taken to consent to the Promoter’s privacy policy (which is available on request). By entering into this Promotion, each entrant also consents to the Promoter using their personal information for future marketing purposes, unless otherwise advised by the entrant. An entrant may access and correct any personal information held by the Promoter, upon request to the Promoter.
