Terms and Conditions
By entering the APT Better Homes & Gardens Competition, you are agreeing to the following terms and
conditions:
1. STANDARD TERMS
1.1 Information on how to enter forms part of the terms of entry.
2. WHO CAN ENTER?
2.1 Subject to clause 2.2, entry is open to all residents of Australia 18 years of age or older where the
Channel Seven signal is received.
2.2 Employees and their immediate families of Seven Network (Operations) Limited, Australian Pacific
Touring Pty Ltd, MNET Group Limited, and their associated agencies and companies are not eligible
to enter.
3. HOW TO ENTER
3.1 The Competition commences on Friday 1st July, 2011 at 1930 (AEST) and concludes on Monday 4th
July, 2011 at 2359 (AEST) (“the Competition Period”).
3.2 In order to enter, viewers must watch Better Homes and Gardens (“the Program”) on the Seven
Network and affiliates on Friday 1st July, 2010 when there will be a Competition segment aired
during the Program.
3.3 In order to enter, viewers must either:
a) Telephone 1902 55 77 00 and register their name, address (including postcode) and daytime
telephone number (including STD area code).
OR
b) Send a text message/SMS to 19 777 677 with their full name, suburb and state.
3.4 All entrants in the Competition may enter up to a maximum of 100 times. For SMS entries, once the
maximum of 100 entries have been received from a single mobile account, entrants will receive a
reply SMS message notifying them of this limit. If it is otherwise discovered that an entrant has
entered more than 100 times in total, via any entry mechanic, only the first 100 entries will be
included in the draw and further entries will not be considered, nor will the cost of the entries be
refunded to entrants.
3.5 For SMS entrants, each entry must be charged to a mobile account and SMS entries via the internet,
computer generation or “scripting” are invalid and will not be accepted.
3.6 Entries must be received by Monday 4th July, 2011 at 2359 (AEST). The time of entry will in each
case be the time the SMS message or 1902 telephone call is received by the MNET Group Limited
database.

3.7 Each SMS entry will be charged at premium rate, namely $0.55 (including GST), which is inclusive of
the entry and the reply message.
3.8 The maximum 1902 call cost is $0.55 (including GST). 1902 call costs will be higher from mobile
phones.
3.9 SMS entrants will receive a reply message to their entry.
4. PRIZES
4.1 There will be one (1) prize winner. The prize winner will receive the prize package, as set out in
clause 4.2 below.

Total prize value is a total maximum value of $30,480.00 (including GST). The Promoter accepts no
responsibility for change in prize value between now and the ultimate date on which the prize is
delivered.
4.3 In participating in the prizes, the winner (and their companion) agrees to participate and co-operate
as required in all editorial activities relating to the Competition, including but not limited to being
interviewed and photographed. The winner (and their companion) agrees to grant the Promoter a
perpetual and exclusive licence to use such footage and photographs in all media worldwide and the
winners will not be entitled to any fee for such use.
4.4 The winner (and their companion) agrees that they will not sell or otherwise provide their story and/or
photographs to any media or other organisation.
4.5 The Promoter and Sponsor support the responsible consumption of alcoholic beverages.

4.6 Travel must be taken in 2011 or 2012 travel seasons and is subject to availability and operators
discretion. Prize is non-transferable and not redeemable for cash. Travel is subject to operators
general conditions of travel.
4.7 Any additional charges not outlined in these terms and conditions will be the responsibility of the
winner.
4.8 The APT European River Cruise prize element must be requested at least thirty working days prior to
the date of travel and requested times and dates of travel are subject to availability.
4.9 No stopovers are permitted on the APT European River Cruise prize element. Minimum stay is
fifteen days. No maximum stay.
4.10 The APT European River Cruise prize element is valid until November 2012.
4.11 Changes to flight details once booked will incur a change fee per guest and the payment of this will
be the responsibility of the winner.
4.12 Travel is subject to the APT conditions of carriage.
4.13 All passengers must travel together on the same flights and stay in their allocated accommodation.
4.14 Frequent Flyer points are not available from any airline on the travel prize and the winners and their
travelling companions cannot upgrade any travel prize using Frequent Flyer points.
4.15 The prize is a single event holiday and must be taken together.
4.16 All other expenses such as car hire, travel insurance, additional meals, passports, visas,
vaccinations, transport to and from the winners departure point, items of a personal nature and inroom
charges not stipulated will be the responsibility of the prize winner.
4.17 The Promoter and Sponsor make no representation as to the safety, conditions or other issues that
may exist at any destination. International travel advice can be obtained from various sources,
including government, local consular offices and the website of the Australian Department of Foreign
Affairs and Trade
4.18 All accommodation and land components of the prize are subject to Seven Network (Operations)
Limited and all other suppliers booking conditions and availability.
4.19 The Promoters accept no responsibility for any variation in the prize value. Where a prize is
unavailable for any reason, the Promoter may substitute for that prize another item of equal or higher
value as determined by the Promoter, subject to the approval of the gaming authorities in each state
and territory, where required.
4.20 Subject to state government legislation the Promoter reserves the right to reasonably amend or vary
these terms and conditions at its sole discretion, orally or in writing, for the purpose of Seven’s
programming, scheduling or production requirements. The Promoter may at its discretion provide
notice of any changes in the Competition spots aired during the Competition.
4.21 Winners should seek independent financial advice about any tax implications that may arise from
their prize winnings.

5. HOW TO WIN
5.1 There will be one (1) prize winner drawn from the national pool of entrants. Each entrant who has
entered the Competition over the duration of the Competition using a mobile phone with a reply path

and whose SMS message has passed through the Telco carriers network to MNET Group Limited
database or phoned the 1902 number registered all details required by Monday 4th July, 2011 at
2359 (AEST) (“Qualifying Entrant”) will be entered into the draw. Entries that do not contain the
information required by clause 3.3 or that do not otherwise comply with these terms and conditions
may be deemed to be invalid and, in that event, a further draw will be conducted. The draw will take
place at MNET Group Limited, Level 2, 8 Leigh Street, Adelaide, South Australia, 5000 on Tuesday
5th July 2011 at 1000 (AEST). One (1) Qualifying Entrant will be drawn at random from the national
pool to become the winner.
5.2 The winner will be notified by a phone call, and a letter advising the winner of their prize will also be
posted. An announcement of the winner will take place within the Program on Friday 8th July, 2011.
The winners’ details will also be published in the Public Notes section of The Australian newspaper
on Monday 11th July, 2011.
5.3 The Promoter may in its absolute discretion deem entries invalid subsequently to the winner’s name
being announced if it is discovered that the winner did not enter the Competition in accordance with
these terms and conditions, or does not otherwise comply with these terms and conditions. In these
circumstances, an additional draw will be conducted as per clause 5.1.
5.4 The Promoter’s decision is final and the Promoter will not enter into correspondence regarding the
result.
5.5 It is a condition of accepting the prize that the winner must comply with all the conditions of use of
the prize and prize supplier’s requirements.
5.6 Subject to state government legislation an unclaimed prize draw will take place at MNET Group
Limited, Level 2, 8 Leigh Street, Adelaide, South Australia 5000 on Tuesday 4th October 2011 at
10:00 (AEDT) and winners will be published in the Public Notes section of The Australian newspaper
on Monday 10th October 2011.
6. NO LIABILITY
6.1 In the case of the intervention of any outside act, agent or event which prevents or significantly
hinders the Promoter’s ability to proceed with the Competition on the dates and in the manner
described in these terms and conditions, including but not limited to vandalism, power failures,
tempests, natural disasters, acts of God, civil unrest, strike, war, act of terrorism, the Promoter may
in its absolute discretion cancel the Competition and recommence it from the start on the same
conditions, subject to government legislation.
6.3 Seven Network (Operations) Limited & affiliates, MNET Group Limited, Australian Pacific Touring Pty
Ltd and their associated agencies and companies will take no responsibility for prizes damaged or
lost in transit, or late, lost or misdirected mail.
6.4 Seven Network (Operations) Limited & affiliates, MNET Group Limited, Australian Pacific Touring Pty
Ltd and their associated agencies and companies will not be liable for any misadventure, accident,
injury, loss (including but not limited to consequential loss) or claim that may occur:
a) during the draw;
b) whilst undertaking any travel won on or connected with their entry into the draw;
c) in the participation in any prize;
d) as a consequence of late, lost or misdirected mail;

e) due to the broadcast of any program relating to the Competition or the publication of any
material, including any statements made by any compere, staff member, journalist, other
entrants or any other person;
f) in relation to failure of an SMS entry message to be received by the Promoter on account of
technical problems or traffic congestion; or
g) arising from or related to any problem or technical malfunction of any telephone network or
lines or mobile communications network related to or resulting from participation in this
Competition.
6.5 Seven Network (Operations) Limited assumes no responsibility for any error, omission, interruption,
deletion, defect, delay in operation or transmission, communications line failure, theft or destruction
or unauthorized access to, or alteration of entries, and reserves the right to take any action that may
be available, subject to government legislation.
6.6 If for any reason this Competition is not capable of running as planned, due to causes including but
not limited to tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failures or any other causes
beyond the control of the Promoter which corrupt or affect the administration security, fairness,
integrity or proper conduct of this Competition, the Promoter reserves the right in its sole discretion
to disqualify any individual who tampers with the entry process, take any action that may be
available, and to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the Competition subject to government
legislation.

7.3 Entry details and entries remain the property of the Promoters and will not be returned to the
entrants. MNET Group Limited, on behalf of Seven Network Limited (ABN 65 052 845 262) and its
related entities (“Seven”), is collecting the entrant's personal information for the purpose of
conducting and promoting this Competition (including but not limited to determining and notifying
winners). The entrant may request access to his or her personal information by writing to Privacy
