Nestlé and the Australian Institute of Sport (AIS) are offering $100,000 in grants for 100 primary schools across the nation! It’s all part of their commitment to educate Australian primary school aged children in nutrition and a healthy active lifestyle.
Q. How many grants are available?
A. We will be handing out 100 grants for $1,000 each – helping many primary schools across the nation receive much needed support.
Q. How does the grant money have to be used?
A. The grant money is to be applied toward a healthy and active initiative for your students, such as new sports equipment, or even a veggie patch that students can tend. But, it’s up to you and your students to decide exactly how you will spend the grant money!
Q. How can you and your students participate in the Nestlé Healthy Active Classroom Challenge to win a grant?
A. All it takes is five easy steps:
1.Primary school teachers must first register on the Healthy Active Classroom website to participate in the Nestlé Healthy Active Classroom Challenge.
2.Teachers must download Unit One of the Healthy Active Classroom resource.
3.Students are then to complete the Healthy Active Quiz online (part of Unit 1).
4.If the online option for students is not available, the teacher must submit the quiz results online on behalf of their students.
5.Finally, in no more than 100 words tell us "How your primary school would use a $1,000 grant to encourage healthy, active lifestyles amongst your students"

1.Information on how to enter & prizes form part of these terms & conditions. Any entry not complying with these terms and conditions is invalid.
2.For the purpose of conducting this competition, only primary school teachers who are employed in a primary school operating in Australia who have registered to participate in the Healthy Active Classroom program may register to enter this competition (“Eligible Entrant”). An Eligible Entrant must be nominated by a primary school teacher resident of Australia and employed at the school they nominate. The eligibility of the nominated primary school will be determined at the Promoter’s absolute discretion.
3.The competition commences at 12 noon Australian Eastern Standard Time ("AEST") on Thursday 2 June, 2011 & closes at 11:59pm Australian Eastern Daylight Saving Time ("AEDST") on Sunday 13 November 2011 ("Competition Period"). Entries will be judged according to when they are received. The following times and dates are important:
a) 1st Entry Period closes at 11.59pm AEST on Sunday 10 July, 2011
b) 2nd Entry Period closes at 11.59pm AEST on Sunday 21 August, 2011
c) 3rd Entry Period closes at 11.59pm AEST on Sunday 2 October, 2011
d) 4th Entry Period closes at 11.59pm AEDST on Sunday 13 November, 2011
4.In order to send a valid entry in the $1,000 Grant Competition, follow these steps:
a) Register to participate in the Healthy Active Classroom campaign program by visiting
www.healthy-active-classroom.com.aub) Download Unit One of the Healthy Active Classroom resource.
c) Get your students to complete the Healthy Active Quiz online (part of Unit 1).
d) If the online option for students is not available, the teacher must submit the quiz results online.
e) Finally, in no more than 100 words tell us "How your primary school would use a $1,000 grant to encourage healthy, active lifestyles amongst your students"
5.Entry is limited to once per Eligible Entrant. In the case that there is more than one Eligible Entrant at the same school, each entry statement should be different, (refer to point 4(e) above). However, a winning primary school cannot win more than one prize.
6.The Promoter reserves the right to verify the validity of all entries and reserves the right to disqualify any entrant for tampering with the entry process, including but not limited to: failing to meet the entry eligibility criteria outlined at point 2 above; failing to complete all necessary steps to send a valid entry, outlined at point 4 above; or making multiple entries; or for submitting an entry that is not otherwise in accordance with these terms and conditions.
7.The prize is a Healthy Active Classroom Challenge Grant of $1,000 which will be awarded in the form of a cheque made payable to the winning school's principal which is awarded on the basis that the money is applied toward purchasing items or providing educational support that promotes healthy, active lifestyles for primary school aged students. There are a total of 100 prizes to be awarded.
8.This competition is a game of skill and chance plays no part in determining the identity of the winning schools. All valid entries received during the Competition Period will be judged on their merit and the entries judged to be the best will win the prizes.
9.Judging will be completed at the offices of the Promoter by no later than two weeks after each entry period closes. The best 25 entries received during the entry period being judged will each win the prize, (total of 100 prizes). (Note: any school that has already won a grant in an earlier entry period will not be entitled to win another grant.)
10.The Eligible Entrant who submitted a winning entry will be notified by telephone and in writing that their school has won a prize. The 25 winning school names and postcodes for each entry period will appear at
www.healthy-active-classroom.com.au.
11.Total prize pool is valued at $100,000.
12.The prize is not transferable & cannot be taken as cash.
13.The Promoter is not liable for any loss or damage whatsoever which is suffered, including but not limited to indirect or consequential loss, or for personal injury suffered or sustained during the course of accepting or using the prize, except for any liability which cannot be excluded by law.
14.Each entry becomes the property of the Promoter. All details will be held in accordance with the Nestlé Privacy Policy which can be accessed by visiting
www.nestle.com.au or calling 1800 005 510.
15.Judge's decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
16.By entering the competition, each Eligible Entrant agrees to the use of their entry statement for printing, broadcast, publicity and promotional purposes, including but not limited to national and regional media outlets and the Promoter's website/s without compensation, and agrees that the Promoter will own all intellectual property rights, including copyright, in any such material. It is a condition of accepting any prize that the winner acknowledges that the Promoter acquires the statement for use for its commercial purposes and agrees not to object to any such use on the basis of any moral right.
17.Prizes will only be delivered in Australia and each winner should allow 14 days from judging for delivery of their prize.
18.If for any reason this Competition is not capable of running as planned, whether caused by infection by computer virus, mobile phone failure, line drop out, bugs, tampering, unauthorised intervention, fraud, technical failures or any other cause beyond the control of the Promoter which corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness or integrity of the Competition, the Promoter reserves the right in its sole discretion, (subject to any written direction given by a relevant Regulatory Authority), to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the Competition. The Promoter may in its sole discretion disqualify any individual who tampers with the entry process.
19.Entries are deemed to be received at the time of receipt into the Promoter's database. The Promoter is not responsible for receipt of incorrect, inaccurate or incomplete information caused by an entrant or occurring during transmission. The Promoter is not responsible for any problems or technical malfunction of any telephone, telephone or computer network, or lines, servers, or telephone or internet providers, traffic congestion on any phone or computer network, or any combination thereof, including any injury or damage to participants or any other person’s handset or computer related to or resulting from participation or sending or receiving of any communication or of any materials in this Competition.
