The year is 1591 and Korea is embroiled in internal political squabbling whilst also facing the threat of a Japanese invasion. Tired of the corruption and convinced that only he can save the country, Lee Mong-Hak (Cha Seung-won) raises a rebel army and sets out on a brutal crusade to eliminate his enemies and claim the throne for himself. Opposing him is legendary blind swordsman Hwang Jung (Hwang Jeong-min) who seeks the help of a vengeful young man to stop him. Once friends and allies, the two warriors are now destined for a bloody showdown.
