These days Michael Crawford has achieved legendary status thanks to his song and dance roles in Andrew Lloyd Webber musicals not to mention his iconic turn as the hapless Frank Spencer in Some Mothers Do ‘Ave ‘Em. Released this month is a fascinating insight into his life in the shape of The Fantastic World of Michael Crawford and to celebrate we have two copies to give away!
Tony Palmer has dedicated his career to making doco’s about music and performers at revealing the layers that envelope his subjects giving you a really rounded portrait. Crawford is a great person to spend time with, his career kicked off at the height of the swinging sixties and he was able to adept and ring the changes with his career as he got older surprising many with his move into musical theatre where he became a major star.
This excellent documentary is more than just a look at his life and career though and is well worth a look!
