Olaf Breuning's is where he paints bottoms and feet, tin&ed's is full of insulating foil, foam bits, and ceramic panthers - and Confetti System's is in the same building as a pet dermatologist. Right now mine is a patch of carpet next to the heater, and so I am not in this book.
Photographer Paul Barbera turned his lens to interiors when he realised the places behind the people are often as interesting as the people themselves. A natural visual diarist, he began documenting the work spaces of friends and admired creators on his blog Where They Create. Barbera's work is all about the natural light and the tiny details around him - and in this book he reaches a level of intimacy with his subjects that makes me feel like Mattias Magnussen and Humberto Leon are my old friends.
Having captured more than 100 different creative caves in the past couple of years, Barbera chose 32 of the most special to appear in the long-awaited printed volume of his work. Available to buy from this week, the book features pages and pages of Paul's beautiful photography accompanied by candid interviews with the people in the photos. I found out that when Marcel Van Doorn's out of ideas, he takes a shower, and Fantastic Man have a yoga mat they've never used.
