With their story beginning on the day of their college graduation in 1989, the film checks in with them over the next twenty years on the same day - July 15 - of each year. It follows the pair as they navigate through relationships and life with all of its hopes and missed opportunities.
With the screenplay penned by Nicholls himself and directed by Lone Scherfig (An Education), this is a smart, witty and touching ode to friendship, love and the way people change and stay the same.
