It looks as though they've given up on jackpots- as July's quiz wasn't won, according to their past practice, September or October should have increased by the unawarded amount.

Yep, Ron and hermione wasn't it?  The Claude Rains question is a toughie.  He played the father in the the 1938 movie Four Daughters which was remade in 1954 with Richard Keith in that role but it says the remake was 1955.  Have t keep searching on that one.  Would number 5 be Sundown?
