Two new books aimed at making FIFO families’ lives that little bit easier have been produced by Mining FM, a FIFO-focused website run by Alicia Ranford and Lainie Anderson.

The Survival Guide for Mining Families aims to help mining families survive and thrive despite the pressures of FIFO rosters and living away from family and friends. The 32-page, A5 guide was launched earlier this year and has sold more than 24,000 copies to mining and resources companies Australia-wide in the past five months.

Working Away: A Survival Guide for Families is the second booklet in the FIFO survival guide series. The 32-page, A5 guide features most of the advice contained in our original guide for mining families, with two additional chapters on what to expect in the early months, and how to identify stress and depression.

We have 2 copies of each volume to give away – just click here to fill out the entry form and answer this simple question; who are the two people behind Mining FM?

Competition closes 31 October 2011.
