We know we’ve got lots of Betts fans out there and we’re on the hunt for our most stylish! So strike a pose and enter our competition for your chance to win $5,000 worth of Westfield Gift Cards plus a Personal Stylist one-on-one session. The shortlist will be posted on Facebook where fans can vote for their favourite. The 10 most ‘liked’ images will go into the final selection to be judged by our guest judge, International Fashion Photographer and Blogger, Candice Lake.

WIN a $5,000 Shopping Spree (the Competition)
Terms and Conditions


1. All information published by the Promoter concerning entry into the Competition and Competition prizes forms part of these terms and conditions of entry. Entry into the draw is deemed acceptance of these terms and conditions of entry. Entry is via betts.com.au/competition.

2. The promoter of the Competition is Betts Group Pty Ltd (ABN 41 008 675 929) of 32 Millrose Drive, Malaga, Western Australia (the Promoter).

3. It is a condition of the Competition that the participant is an Australian resident and that if under 18 years of age they have permission from their legal parent or guardian to enter the Competition. The major prize is to be accepted by the participant’s legal guardian who is over 18 years of age. Employees and relatives (as defined by the Corporations Act 2001 (the Act) of employees of:
3.1. the Promoter;
3.2. service providers associated with the Competition; and
3.3. a related party or associated entity (as defined in the Act) of the persons specified in paragraph 3.1 and 3.2 above, are not eligible to enter the Competition.

4. To successfully enter the Competition, participants are required to:
4.1. Provide their details including name, date of birth, address, phone number and e-mail address and upload an image of themselves under 5mb in Betts SS11/12 shoes. The Promoter reserves the right to disqualify any entry where it reasonably suspects that such materials are prohibited by these terms and conditions, any relevant law, or are otherwise deemed inappropriate. This is at the Promoter's absolute discretion and discussions will not be entered into. Entries that are considered unlawful, harassing, defamatory, abusive, threatening, harmful, obscene, profane, sexually oriented, racially offensive, contain objectionable content or are otherwise inappropriate will not be deemed valid and rejected. Once the entry has been reviewed by the Promoter and shortlisted, it will be published on facebook.com/Betts.Shoes. Incomplete and incomprehensible entry details will, at the sole and absolute discretion of the Promoter, invalidate the participant’s entry into the Competition.

5. Except for any liability that cannot be excluded by law, the Promoter (including its officers, employees and agents) excludes all liability (including negligence), for any personal injury; or any loss or damage (including loss of opportunity); whether direct, indirect, special or consequential, arising in any way out of the Competition, including, but not limited to, where arising out of the following:
5.1. Any technical difficulties or equipment malfunction (whether or not under the Promoter’s control).
5.2. Any theft, unauthorised access or third party interference.
5.3. Any entry or prize claim that is late, lost, altered, damaged or misdirected (whether or not after their receipt by the Promoter) due to any reason beyond the reasonable control of the Promoter.
5.4. Any variation in prize value to that stated in these Terms and Conditions.
5.5. Any tax liability incurred by a winner or entrant.
5.6. Use of a prize.

6. The cost of accessing the Competition website will be dependent on the participant’s individual Internet Service Provider and is the responsibility of the participant. The Promoter accepts no liability for a participant’s failure or inability to access the Competition website.

7. The Competition commences on Friday 23 September 2011 at 9:00am (AWST) and online registration commences at this time. All online registrations must be received by 5:00pm (AWST) on Tuesday 15 November 2011. All online registrations are deemed to be received at the time of receipt into the Promoter’s database, and not at the time of transmission by the participant.

8. The shortlisted entries will be posted to an album on the Betts Facebook page (facebook.com/Betts.Shoes) within 3 working days of the entry being uploaded. The information included with the image on the Facebook album is the entrant’s name and state. The 10 most ‘liked’ entries, as determined by the number of registered Facebook ‘likes’ received by Wednesday 23 November 2011 at 3:00pm AWST, will go into the final selection to be judged by guest judge, Candice Lake. The winner will be the entry judged by Candice Lake to be the most on trend and creative from the pool of entries submitted. Candice Lake will select the winner by no later than Monday 5 December 2011. Chance plays no role in determining the winner. The winner will be notified by telephone and in writing and will have their details published on betts.com.au and facebook.com.au/Betts.Shoes.

9. The judge’s decision is final and the Promoter will not enter into correspondence regarding the result.

10. The prize must be claimed by 12:00pm (AWST) on Wednesday 4 January 2012 and if the prize remains unallocated or unclaimed, on the runner up winner will be announced as the winner on Thursday 5 January 2012.

11. There is one prize to be won and it includes:
11.1. $5,000 worth of Westfield Gift Cards Westfield Gift Card terms and conditions apply. Issued by Westfield Gift Card Pty Ltd ACN 113 171 663. For a full list of current participating stores visit westfield.com/giftcards.
11.2. A two-hour 1-on-1 consultation with a Westfield Stylist. The value of the sessions varies from centre to centre. Once the winner is selected the centre/stylist that would be the most appropriate for the winner will be chosen as the venue for this consultation.

12. By accepting the prize, the winners agree to participate in and co-operate as required with all reasonable media editorial requests relating to the prize, including but not limited to, being interviewed and photographed (the Publications).

13. In consideration for the Promoter awarding the prize to the winner, the winner hereby agrees:
13.1. that he or she has no right of attribution or integrity of authorship with respect to the Publications; and
13.2. to assign to the Promoter all right, title and interest in and to all copyright in any material created by the winner and their companion pursuant to the winner’s participation in any aspect of the prize (Works); and
13.3. that the Promoter is free to use the Works and to exercise its rights in relation thereto and the winner will not be entitled to any fee for such use.

14. The Promoter’s decision is final and binding and no correspondence will be entered into.

15. Prizes are not exchangeable or transferable and cannot be taken for cash.

16. All prize values are the recommended retail value as provided to the Promoter by the supplier and are correct at time of printing. The Promoter accepts no responsibility for any variation in prize value. If the prizes are unavailable for whatever reason, the Promoter reserves the right to substitute the prize for a prize of similar value subject to any written directions from a regulatory authority.

17. The Promoter and each of their related bodies corporate, associated agencies and companies associated with the Competition will not be liable for any loss (including, without limitation, indirect, special or consequential loss or loss of profits), expense, damage, personal injury or death which is suffered or sustained (whether or not arising from any person’s negligence) in connection with the Competition or accepting or using any prize, except for any liability which cannot be excluded by law (in which case that liability is limited to the minimum allowable by law).

18. Should a participant’s contact details change during the Competition period, it is the participant’s responsibility to notify the Promoter. A request to access or modify any information provided in an entry should be directed to the Promoter.

19. The Promoter reserves the right to request winners to provide proof of identity, Australian residency, residency at the nominated residential address and/or entry validity. Proof of identification, residency and entry considered suitable for verification is at the sole and absolute discretion of the Promoter. In the event that a winner cannot provide suitable proof of identity, the winner will forfeit their prize in whole and no substitute will be offered.

20. All entries become the property of the Promoter. The Promoter collects personal information about participants to enable participants to participate in this Competition (which may include disclosure to third parties for the purpose of processing and conducting the Competition) but no further use of this information will be made without the participant’s prior consent. Each participant agrees to his or her personal information being disclosed to State and Territory Lottery Departments and being published (if he or she wins a prize) as required under the relevant lottery legislation.

21. If for any reason this Competition is not capable of running as planned, including due to infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failures or any other causes beyond the control of the Promoter, which corrupt or affect the administration security, fairness or integrity or proper conduct of this Competition, the Promoter reserves the right in its sole discretion to disqualify any individual who tampers with the entry process, take any action that may be available, and to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the Competition, subject to any written directions from the a regulatory authority.

22. In the case of the intervention of any outside agent or event which naturally changes the result or prevents or hinders it's determination, including but not limited to vandalism, power failures, tempests, natural disasters, acts of God, civil unrest or strikes, the Promoter may in its absolute discretion cancel the Competition and recommence it from the start on the same conditions subject to any written directions from a regulatory authority.

23. The Promoter may, in its sole discretion, disqualify all entries from, and prohibit further participation in the Competition by any person who tampers with or benefits from any tampering with the entry process or with the operation of the Competition or acts in violation of these conditions, acts in a disruptive manner or acts with the intent to annoy, abuse, threaten or harass any other person.

24. The laws of the State of Western Australia, State regulatory bodies (and where applicable the Commonwealth of Australia) shall apply to the Competition.
