JETSTAR JAPAN SNOW COMPETITION (AU) Terms and Conditions - Game of Skill
By entering the Jetstar Japan Snow Competition, you agree to the following conditions:
1. Information on how to enter forms part of the terms and conditions of entry. Entry into the promotion is deemed acceptance of these terms and conditions.
2. The promoter is Jetstar Airways Pty Limited (ABN 33 069 720 243) of Level 4, 222 Bourke Street, Melbourne VIC 3000 (Promoter).
Eligibility
3. Entry is open to Australian residents over 18 years only (Eligible Entrants), excluding directors, management, employees (and their immediate families) of the Promoter and its related bodies corporate and registered travel companions of employees of the Promoter and its related bodies corporate.
4. The promotion commences at 9.00am (AEDT) on Friday 28 October, 2011 and closes at 5:00pm (17:00) (AEDT) on Friday 4 November, 2011 (Promotion Period). Only entries that are received during that time will be eligible for entry.
Competition entry
5. To enter, Eligible Entrants must, during the Promotion Period:
5.1 Be an official fan of Jetstar Australia Facebook page

5.2 Enter your personal details including: first name, last name, email address, preferred departure port (Melbourne (Tullamarine via Cairns, Sydney (via Cairns), Gold Coast or Cairns) and preferred arrival destination (either Osaka or Tokyo); and
5.3 In 600 characters or less share your ultimate Japanese snow experience, which can include top travel tips, stories, quotes, recommendations, photos (optional, maximum file size 4MB) or what inspires you about Japan’s snow fields.
6. While the Eligible Entrant retains the copyright of all works submitted as competition entries, each entrant grants to the Promoter a non-exclusive, perpetual, irrevocable, royalty-free, world-wide license to use their entry in any media (including banners, signage, posters, television, magazine, Internet, MMS, DVD or other digital or print formats) for an unlimited time for any purpose, including but not limited to publishing the entries on the Promoter’s website, promoting future promotions and competitions of a similar nature, and whether or not in connection with the Promoter’s promotions, advertising or marketing. Entrants consent to any use of their entry which may otherwise infringe their moral rights pursuant to the Copyright Act 1968 (Cth)
7. By entering the promotion the Eligible Entrant confirms that all persons appearing in the photograph have consented to the Eligible Entrant submitting the photo as part of this competition, including to Jetstar’s right to use the photograph in accordance with clause 6.
8. Incomplete, indecipherable, or illegible entries will be deemed invalid and will be rejected. The Promoter reserves the right to disqualify any entry where it reasonably suspects that such materials are prohibited by these terms and conditions, any relevant law, or are otherwise deemed inappropriate. This is at the Promoter's absolute discretion and discussions will not be entered into. Entries that are considered unlawful, harassing, defamatory, abusive,
threatening, harmful, obscene, profane, sexually oriented, racially offensive, contain
objectionable content or are otherwise inappropriate will be deemed invalid and will be
rejected.
9. There is a limit of one entry per person for the duration of Promotion Period.
10. The Promoter reserves the right to verify the validity of entries and reserves the right to
disqualify any Eligible Entrant for tampering with the entry process or for submitting an entry
that is not (in the reasonable opinion of the Promoter) in accordance with these terms and
conditions.
11. The Promoter is not responsible for any lost, late or misdirected entries.
Judging
12. The winners will be the entries judged by a panel of judges appointed by the Promoter to be
the most creative and original answer from the pool of entries submitted during the
Promotion Period. Entries will be judged at the offices of the Promoter at 10:00am (AEDT) on
Monday 7 November 2011.
13. The competition is a game of skill and chance plays no part in determining the winner.
14. The winner will be notified by email by no later than 5:00pm (AEDT) on Tuesday 8 November
2011. If any prize remains unclaimed by 10.00am (AEDT) Tuesday 22 November 2011,
another winner for each unclaimed prize will be judged by the panel of judges from the
remaining pool of entries at 10.00am (AEDT) Tuesday 22 November 2011 and the winner will
be contacted by email by 5:00pm (AEDT) on the same day.
15. The judges' decision is final and the Promoter will not enter into correspondence regarding
the result.
16. The winner’s name will be published on Jetstar’s wall.
17. It is a condition of accepting the prize that the winners must comply with all the conditions of
use of the prize.
The prize
18. There is one prize, valued at a maximum of AUD$1,936 based on the recommended retail
value at the time of printing. The Promoter accepts no responsibility for any variation in the
value of the prizes.
19. The major prize consists of:
Two Jetstar return economy starter fares to either Osaka or Tokyo (Narita) departing
from either Melbourne (Tullamarine), Sydney, Gold Coast or Cairns (includes 20kg
checked baggage only). Flights departing Melbourne (Tullamarine) and Sydney will be via
Cairns.
Meet and greet at Narita Airport or Osaka Airport.
7 nights’ accommodation for 2 in a dorm share room at The Lab Hakuba including daily
hot breakfast.
6 day ski field lift ticket for the big 3 ski resorts of Happo One, Iwatake, and Tsugaike.
Airport transfers in Japan via shuttle buses.
2 hours free mountain guiding for experienced and advanced skiers.
Tour info pack including Tokyo sightseeing maps and recommendations.
Liquid Tours host available for 1 hour each night at The Lab ski lodge in Hakuba.
For travel in March 2012 only.
20. Accepting the major prize: Once notified the winner will need to provide the following
information to the Promoter via email.
1. Full Names as per passport including title of both travellers
2. Date of Birth
3. Preferred travel dates within the month of March
4. Preferred departure port (from list above)
5. Flight times and numbers for both departure and return (please visit Jetstar.com to see flight times)
6. Preferred arrival destination (Tokyo or Osaka)
The Promoter will determine availability of accommodation and flights and book this for the winner and their travel companion. Flights cannot be taken during public holidays. If your preferred travel dates, departure port or arrival destination is not available, you will be contacted.
21. The winner and their travel companion are responsible for making their own way to and from the Jetstar departure port. The winner and their travel companion will require a passport for international travel with required validity periods. The prize does not include travel insurance, passports, visas, meals, taxes not included in the price of the ticket, ground transportation other than as stated or any other costs of a personal nature not stated. Compliance with any health or other government requirements is the responsibility of the prize-winner and their companion. Prize travel is subject to Jetstar’s General Conditions of Carriage and seat availability.
22. The winner and their companion will not accrue Qantas Frequent Flyer points on the prize travel or accommodation. An upgrade cannot be purchased on airfares with cash or Qantas Frequent Flyer points.
23. The prize must be taken as stated and no compensation will be payable if the recipient is unable to use the prize as stated. The Promoter will not amend or change travel dates or names once these have been booked and confirmed. The prize is not redeemable for cash or other goods or services. A prize cannot be transferred to any other person, unless agreed to by the Promoter. There can be no changes made to travel arrangements once tickets are issued.
24. If any act, omission, event or circumstance occurs which is beyond the reasonable control of the Promoter and which prevents the Promoter from complying with these terms and conditions, the Promoter will not be liable for any failure to perform or delay in performing its obligations and the Promoter reserves the right (subject to any applicable law) to cancel, terminate or modify or suspend this promotion.
25. The Promoter, its related bodies corporate and their respective officers, employees, contractors and agents (Promotion Parties) will not be liable for any losses, damages, expenses, costs or personal injuries arising out of this promotion, the promotion of this promotion or the use of any prize, including but not limited to any breach of these terms and conditions, contract or tort (including negligence) and any other common law, equitable or statutory remedy (Damages) whatsoever, including but not limited to direct, indirect and consequential Damages, including Damages that cannot reasonably be considered to arise naturally and in the ordinary course of things, even if those Damages were in the contemplation of the Promotion Parties.
26. The exclusion of liability in clause 25 does not apply to limit or exclude liability:
a) for personal injury or death suffered or sustained in connection with the supply of goods or services which are supplied by the Promoter in the ordinary course of business. To remove doubt: third party goods or services, which other than in connection with this promotion, are in the normal course of business supplied by a third party unrelated to the Promotion Parties, are not supplied by the Promoter in the ordinary course of business; and the Promoter’s Conditions of Carriage and general booking conditions (and any exclusions contained therein) apply despite any statement to the contrary in these terms and conditions or
b) to the extent it is not permissible at law to limit or exclude liability in the manner contemplated in that clause (in which case that liability is limited to the maximum extent allowable by law).
27. Entry and continued participation in the Promotion is dependent on entrants following and acting in accordance with the Facebook Statement of Rights and Responsibilities, which can be viewed at

28. This promotion is in no way sponsored, endorsed or administered by, or associated with, Facebook. Entrants understand that they are providing their information to the Promoter and not to Facebook. The information an entrant provides will only be used for the purposes outlined in these Terms and Conditions. By entering this competition, each Eligible Entrant releases Facebook from any action or claim arising out of the competition. Any questions, comments or complaints about this promotion must be directed to the Promoter and not to Facebook.
29. Jetstar collects personal information about entrants for the purpose of running this competition. Entry details remain the property of the Promoter. Eligible Entrants consent to the Promoter using personal information provided in connection with this promotion for the purposes of facilitating the conduct of the promotion and awarding any prizes. Without limiting the foregoing Eligible Entrants' personal information provided in connection with this promotion will be handled in accordance with the Promoter's Privacy Statement, a copy of which is available at
