You have the chance to win one of more than 1700 family passes (5 tickets per family) to watch the fireworks from one of the best viewing spots in Sydney - the Cahill Expressway above Circular Quay.

This is a family friendly event, with entertainment as well as a range of hot food and refreshments for sale. No alcohol or glass is permitted.

How can I win tickets?

Family passes will be given away free of charge for the 9pm and midnight fireworks sessions via an online public competition.

The competition website will be open for registration from 12.01am on Saturday 29  and close at 11.59pm on Saturday 12 November 2011.

Roads and Traffic Authority New Years Eve Competition Terms and Conditions
1.The competition (“Competition”) involves entrants applying for free tickets to either the 9pm session or the midnight session of the 2011 New Year’s Eve fireworks display on the Cahill Expressway, Circular Quay (“Event”).
2.The Competition starts at 12:01am, Saturday 29 October 2011 and closes on Saturday 12 November 2010 at 11:59pm. Further details regarding the Competition can be accessed from www.rta.nsw.gov.au.
3.These Terms and Conditions set out how the Competition will be run and how the prizes may be used by you. If you enter the Competition then you are deemed to accept these Terms and Conditions and they will form a binding legal contract between you and the Promoter.
4.Entry is open only to all residents of NSW.
5.The Promoter is Roads and Traffic Authority (ABN 76 236 371 088)  of Level 9, 101 Miller Street, North Sydney, NSW, 2060.
6.The winners will be drawn at 12 noon on Tuesday 15 November 2011 at Salmat Interactive, Level 2, 116 Miller Street North Sydney. Winners will be notified by mail no later than 16 December 2011.
7.To enter, entrants must register via www.rta.nsw.gov.au (“the Competition Website”) from 12:01am, Saturday 29 October 2011 to 11:59pm Saturday 12 November 2011.
8.Entrants may enter only once, for either or both fireworks sessions and an entrant is only eligible to win one prize per household and per session.
9.The Competition Website will prompt entrants to choose which session of fireworks for which they would like to try and win tickets and they will be entered into the 9pm or midnight pool accordingly.
10.The first 870 eligible entrants drawn from the pool of entrants for the 9pm fireworks session will be deemed the prize-winners for the 9pm session of the Event. Each winner will receive a family pass for five (5) to watch the 9pm session.
11.The first 870 eligible entrants drawn from the pool of entrants for the midnight fireworks session will be deemed the prize-winners. Each winner will receive a family pass for five (5) to watch the midnight session.
12.Unclaimed prizes and tickets that cannot be delivered will be forfeited.
13.The family pass consists of five (5), individually bar-coded wristbands (“tickets”). All five bar-codes displayed on each ticket are linked to the entrant’s registration details, and the entrant’s name will appear on the tickets for identification purposes.
14.Prize includes the tickets only. Food and non-alcoholic drinks will be available to purchase at the Event, however as this will be limited it is recommended that if additional refreshments are required, winners bring along their own food and non-alcoholic drinks. Meals, travel, transfers, incidentals and any extras regarding the prize are at the prize winner’s own expense. 
15.Ticket holders must make their own way to the Event. No parking is available. Entry and exit to the Event is from the corner of Conservatorium Road and Macquarie Street only. There will be no access from either: Cumberland Street steps, the Macquarie Street steps, Royal Botanic Gardens walkway or the Circular Quay elevators.  Individuals with mobility impairments will be able to access the site from the main entrance.  People with mobility issues are encouraged to contact the Promoter prior to the Event via the Promoter’s website or by calling 131 782.
16.Access to the Event is strictly limited to ticket holders only. Tickets must be properly fixed to the entrants’ wrists prior to entering the Event (as per the fitting instructions). Tickets will be scanned on entry by staff.
17.Every person requires a ticket, regardless of age (including babies and children). One ticket admits one person.
18.Entry to the Event will be from 6.30pm to 8.50pm for the 9pm fireworks and from 10:30pm to 11.50pm for the midnight fireworks on Thursday, 31 December 2010.
19.Ticket holders may be subject to a bag search prior to entry into the controlled area. The Event area is a designated family area. For safety reasons, NO ALCOHOL, GLASS OR UMBRELLAS or any other potentially dangerous items will be permitted within the Event area. Ticket holders breaching these conditions will have the items removed and not returned.
20.9pm ticket holders are required to leave the Event area promptly after the 9pm fireworks display to enable cleaning to take place.
21.Ticket holders must not be inebriated or under the influence of drugs and must act responsibly and follow requests made by Police, the Promoter, security staff and volunteers. Ticket holders breaching these requirements may be required to leave the Event.
22.Food stalls and toilets, including two wheelchair accessible toilets, waste disposal facilities, security and first aid staff will be provided at the Event. No storage or cloakroom facilities are available.
23.The Promoter cannot guarantee the fireworks display will occur. The Promoter will have no liability to ticket holders if the fireworks are cancelled or if access to the Event is not available due to inclement weather, safety or other reasons.
24.The tickets cannot be exchanged or redeemed with the Promoter. The tickets are personal and not transferable and can not be copied or sold. The Promoter reserves the right to cancel tickets and refuse entry to the Event, as well as refuse the prize winner from entering the same competition in subsequent years where the Promoter has reasonable grounds to believe any tickets have been copied or transferred by a prize winner. All tickets are issued subject to the Conditions of Entry which are available on the Competition Website.
25.The Promoter is not liable for any errors in the details provided by the entrant in the online registration form, or for tickets being lost, misdirected or misdelivered.
26.Any change in the value of the prizes between the publishing date and the date prizes are claimed are not the responsibility of the Promoter.
27.The Promoter discloses that the Event area will be crowded and each ticket holder enters the Event at their own risk and to the fullest extent permitted at law releases the Promoter from all liability in respect of all injury and damage and loss that the ticket holder may suffer in connection with the Event.
28.All entries become the property of the Promoter.
29.The Promoter may film and/or take photographs of ticket holders at the Event.  By entering the Competition, ticket holders agree to the Promoter using their image for the purposes of marketing and promoting the Event including subsequent to the Event.
30.Authorised under the provisions of gratuitous lottery.
