I think people post comments to "butter up" the judges. One person starts it, everyone follows. I've seen a lot of "pick me" posts on other Facebook comps.

Do you think it works tho? If it were me, I hate crawlers, lol! (I used to be a High school teacher!!)

Most comps have T&C's so I doubt it works. Most of it is rather nauseating.

You have to "Like" the page to enter so perhaps if you have already "Liked" the page (ie you're a current fan), you have to post to gain entry? The FB moderators replies seem to imply this is the case (though that may be my imagination).

Ah, maybe I interpreted it wrong. Maybe its only the already existing fans of the page who have to post a comment..but I did  anyway...  

EDIT....I went back to check and found this post...must be one that made me decide earlier that you need to make a comment about winning the prize.
