We are calling on all Home DIYers to share their videos on getting the job done properly. At Home Timber and Hardware, we are here to help you tackle those DIY jobs that you have around the house so that you can get the job done properly.

Now you have the opportunity to share your own DIY tips and know-how to the Home Timber and Hardware Community, whether it is changing a tap washer to painting a room and even building a dog house, the Home DIYers Video Centre is the place for you to share all you know about getting DIY jobs done.

Video Guidelines
If you'd like to be in the running for the monthly prize, please make sure you follow these guidelines or your video will not qualify.

No branding or self-promotion
Videos overtly showing product placement or promotion of any kind will not be accepted. This includes website URLs, company names, and other forms of promotional paraphernalia whether it be in the fore or background.

Safety comes first
Make sure you are wearing the proper safety equipment and are following the correct guidelines when using your tools.

Content
Videos need to be less than 10 minutes. Make sure we can see what you’re doing.

Copyright
Don’t upload any video footage that’s not yours and certainly don’t add a backing track you don’t have the rights to use.

Do it again!
You can upload more than one video. The more videos the more chances you have of winning!

Uploading User Generated Content to the Home DIY Centre

You have the ability to interact with the Site and other users by posting comments, uploading videos, and a variety of other ways (all such submissions or postings collectively referred to as "User Generated Content"). By submitting or posting any User Generated Content on the Site, you warrant and represent that:

1. You own all rights to your User Generated Content and the performance contained in your User Generated Content or, alternatively, you have acquired all necessary rights in your User Generated Content to enable you to grant to Home Timber and Hardware the rights in your User Generated Content described herein and for us to exercise the rights with respect to such User Generated Content that you grant herein;

2. You are the individual pictured, depicted, and/or heard in your User Generated Content, or, alternatively, you have obtained permission (and, if applicable, publicity rights) from each person who appears and/or is heard in your User Generated Content to grant the rights to Home Timber and Hardware described herein; You will make such permissions availafble to Home Timber and Hardware upon request; No person under the age of eighteen (18) is be included in any video that you post as part of the Home DIYer Videos

3. Your User Generated Content is not defamatory in nature, does not infringe the intellectual property rights, privacy, rights to publicity or any other legal or moral rights of any third party.

4. You will take sole responsibility to ensure that you take the correct safety procedures when creating your video.

5. No direct competitor or supplier of Home Timber and Hardware is to upload any video

6. You will not stalk, threaten or harass authors or other users or infringe upon, invade or attempt to infringe upon or invade their privacy; and You will not Post any information or material which may constitute or encourage conduct that is a criminal offense, tort, or civil wrong or otherwise violates any applicable law.

7. Posts will not be authorised that include any commercial messages or sale of goods

8. Length of Video will not be greater than 10 minutes

9. You agree to provide accurate current and complete information during the registration process, when contributing User Generated Content or when otherwise using the Site. You also agree that you will review, maintain, correct and update such information in a timely manner to maintain its accuracy and completeness.

Movember DIY Competition
10. Information on how to upload your videos and prizes form part of these terms and conditions of entry (Terms and Conditions). Uploading of your video is deemed acceptance of these Terms and Conditions. Prizes are awarded as a game of skill, and chance plays no part in determining the monthly winner.

11. Uploading of Home DIYer Video’s is open to all residents of Australia. Users must be over the age of 18 to upload a Home DIYer video.

12. User’s are required to log onto www.homehardware.com.au, access the the DIY Center and click on upload video, enter their contact details, upload a video of the DIY tip.

13. Home Timber and Hardware will donate $50 to Movember for every video that is deemed acceptable and is featured on www.homehardware.com.au.

14. Once a prize is awarded, Home Timber and Hardware reserves the right to request winners to provide proof of identity, proof of residency at the nominated prize delivery address and/or proof of entry validity in order to claim a prize. Proof of identification, residency and entry considered suitable for verification is at the discretion of the Promoter. In the event that a winner cannot provide suitable proof, the winner will forfeit the prize in whole and no substitute will be offered.

15. The Promoter reserves the right to verify the validity of entries and to disqualify any entry which, in the opinion of the Promoter, includes objectionable content, profanity, potentially insulting, inflammatory or defamatory statements, any content which infringes the rights of another person (including intellectual property rights or rights of privacy or confidentiality), disqualify any entrant who tampers with the entry process, who submits an entry that is not in accordance with these Terms and Conditions or who has, in the sole opinion of the Promoter, engaged in conduct in relation to the Competition which is unlawful, fraudulent, misleading, deceptive, improper or generally damaging to the goodwill or reputation of the Competition and/or Promoter. The Promoter reserves the right to disqualify a winner if the Promoter becomes aware that the winner and/or the winner’s entry is of a type described in this clause. Incomprehensible, incomplete and/or otherwise indistinguishable entries will be deemed invalid.

16. Monthly Prize will be drawn on the 28th of every month.

17. The cost of accessing the promotional website will be dependent on the entrant’s individual Internet Service Provider and is the sole responsibility of the entrant.

What is the prize?
18. Total prize details are as follows:
A $1000 Home Timber and Hardware gift card will be awarded to the best video judged by Home Timber and Hardware. There is 1 (One) $1000 Home Timber and Hardware gift card prizes in total (Prize).

19. There will be 1 (One) x best video judged on the 12th of December, 2011, the total prize value is $1,000.

20. The Prize must be taken as offered and is non refundable, non transferable and non redeemable for cash or other goods or services.

21. If the Prize is unavailable, for whatever reason, the Promoter reserves the right to substitute the prize for another prize of equal or greater value, subject to any applicable State Regulation.

22. Once Prizes have left the Promoter’s premises, the Promoter takes no responsibility for Prizes damaged, delayed or lost in transit.

23. Without limiting any other section of these Terms and Conditions, it is a condition of accepting the Prize that the winner:
must comply with all the conditions of use of the Prize and the Prize supplier’s requirements; and may be required to sign a legal release in a form determined by the Promoter in its absolute discretion.

24. It is a condition of entry that the Promoter has the right to publicise the names, characters, likenesses or voices of any entrants to the Competition.

25. By accepting the Prize, the winner agrees to participate in and co-operate as required with all reasonable media editorial requests relating to the Prize.  The winners may be required by the Promoter to participate in a photo, video and/or film session, and other interviews (including but not limited to the time at which possession of the Prize is transferred to the winner), and the entrant acknowledges that the Promoter has the right to use such publicity photos, videos and/or films in any medium (including, without limitation, the internet) and in any reasonable manner it sees fit, unless that person advises the Promoter at the time of entering the Competition that he/she wishes to retain his/her anonymity. Entrants also acknowledge that their photo may be used for promotional displays at the Prize provider’s location. Entrants’ hereby consent to their entry being published / broadcast and/or to their telephone and other conversations with the Promoter being published / broadcast

26. In consideration for entering the Competition and/or the Promoter awarding the Prize to the winner (as the case may be), the entrant and/or the winner (as the case may be) hereby assigns to the Promoter all right, title and interest in and to all copyright in any material created pursuant to the entrant’s and/or winner’s (as the case may be) participation in any aspect of the Prize, including the upload of their Home DIYer Video. The winner acknowledges that the Promoter is free to use the Work (including, reproducing, publishing, transmitting to the public and broadcasting the Work) and to exercise its rights in relation thereto, and the winner will not be entitled to any fee for such use.

27. All Home DIYer Videos become the property of the Promoter.

How will the entries be judged?
28. Entries will be judged by a panel at Home Timber and Hardware at 414-426 Lower Dandenong Road, Braeside, Victoria 3195. The winner will be judged taking into account the following criteria into account:
Originality
Subject of video
DIY techniques
The decision made by the panel of judges will be final and no discussions or correspondence will be entered into.

How will winners be notified?
29. The winner will be notified by phone or email, using the registration details provided in their entry by the 12th December 2011. The name of the winner will also be published on the Home Timber & Hardware website, www.homehardware.com.au, once the winner has been notified.

30. Should an entrant’s contact details change during the promotional period, it is the entrant´s responsibility to notify the Promoter. A request to access or modify any information provided in an entry should be directed to the Promoter.

General Terms
31. To the extent permitted by law, the Promoter, its officers, employees, agents, representatives and related bodies corporate shall not be liable for any loss or damage whatsoever (including but not limited to indirect or consequential loss) or for any personal injury suffered or sustained as a result of or in any way in connection with this Competition (including participation or attempted participation in the Competition) and/or in relation to the Prize (including use or attempted use of the Prize).

32. Without limiting section 9 of these Terms and Conditions, the Promoter is not responsible for any incorrect or inaccurate information, either caused by the entrant or for any of the equipment or programming associated with or utilised in this Competition, or for any technical error, or any combination thereof that may occur in the course of the administration of this Competition including any omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or transmission, communications line or telephone, mobile or satellite network failure, theft or destruction or unauthorised access to or alteration of entries.

33. If for any reason this Competition is not capable of running as planned, including due to infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorised intervention, fraud, technical failures or any causes beyond the control of the Promoter, which corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness or integrity or proper conduct of this Competition, the Promoter reserves the right in its sole discretion to disqualify any individual who tampers with the entry process, take any action that may be available, and to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the Competition, subject to any direction given under State Regulation as applicable.

Privacy
34. The Promoter is collecting the entrant´s personal information for the purpose of conducting and promoting this Competition (including but not limited to determining and notifying winners). The entrant´s personal information may be disclosed to representatives and agents acting on behalf of the Promoter or assisting the Promoter in the administration of this Competition.

35. Entrants’ personal information may be disclosed to State and Territory lottery and regulatory departments and winners’ names published as described under these Terms and Conditions and as required under the relevant lottery legislation (as applicable). A request to access, update or correct any information should be directed to the Promoter.

36. The Movember DIY Competition is conducted by the Promoter, which is John Danks and Son Proprietary Limited (ABN 64 004 037 049) trading as Home Timber and Hardware of 414 Lower Dandenong Road, Braeside Victoria 3195.
