Ensure that you start your Australia Day celebrations with a bang by attending the 2012 Australia Celebrates Live concert on Wednesday 25 January.
The event, held on the lawns of Parliament House, has some of the biggest names in the Australian music scene set to perform for Canberra audiences.
Classic Aussie rockers INXS are headlining this year and are sure to get the crowds singing along to their rock anthems. The Potbelleez and Sneaky Sound System will be popular among the younger audiences, with both acts set to get punters moving with their dance-floor hits. Alternative rock heavyweights Spiderbait and Katie Noonan and The Captains will also be gracing the Australia Celebrates Live stage, wrapping up the huge lineup for 2012.
This year will also feature a ‘Family Area’ on the hills of Parliament House. A glass and alcohol-free zone, the Family Area is perfect for people who want to sit and enjoy the concert and big screen in a more relaxed environment.
The event starts with the Australian of The Year Awards at 6pm, then at 7:45pm the Australia Celebrates Live Concert begins, however the site will be open from 3pm so get in early to secure a spot.
