The Pure Genius Exhibition is a photo and digital art competition, which gives 50 emerging artists the opportunity to have their work displayed at a top Melbourne gallery, the Brunswick Street Gallery.This exhibition is a celebration of the homegrown talent representing the Australian arts community. There are plenty of prizes up for grabs and great exposure opportunities.
Whether you are a professional photographer / digital artist, or someone who likes to dabble in your spare time, this is an opportunity to have your artwork seen by the Australian art community.

Winners are announced on the 16 March 2012 and the opening night of the two week exhibition is Friday 13 April 2012.

IS THERE AN ENTRY FEE?
An entry fee of $40 applies to your first entry.
Each entry thereafter is $10 per entry.
You can enter as many images as you like into the competition.
All entries will be acknowledged via email.
Entry fee is non refundable and can be paid via Visa, MasterCard or direct deposit.
Entrants are invited to submit digital files in any format and size.
Entrants can submit files through online entry form. If files are other than jpegs or over 50mb - submissions will have to be sent via image transfer website (such as yousendit.com) or via disc/usb.
The selection of finalists is judged in digital form only.
If selected to be a finalist, only one image per entrant may be eligible for exhibition.
Entries are to be used for catalogue, promotion and on the Genius Printing Facebook fan page.
WHAT'S IN IT FOR ME?
There is a prize pool of around $20,000 in prizes. The main prize is having your work printed for free and being exhibited for two weeks in a group exhibition.

MY ARTWORK HAS BEEN SELECTED FOR THE EXHIBITION - WHAT DO I NEED TO DO?
50 works of art will be selected for exhibition with a mix of photographic and digital arts winners. Exact numbers of winners in each category will depends on the type of entries.
Finalists will be notified via email by Fri 16th Mar 2012, and advertised on our website, Facebook, Twitter, etc.
All participating artists in Pure Genius 2012 will need to:
Nominate the sale price of your artwork inclusive of GST. Remember, there is a 15% gallery commission (plus 2% credit card fee if applicable).
Please consider the cost of printing when nominating your sale price. The first one, displayed at the exhibition, is printed free of charge. All subsequent sales will be printed 'on demand' by Genius Printing. We will offer 10% off our printing prices to print your artwork.
Exhibition finalists may have up to 10 editions available for sale to the public.
Entrants have the option of what size and substrate they want their work to be printed - although will be offered professional guidance.
Select a medium and size you'd like your image printed at. You can view a full list of all our products to help decide.
No work will exceed 60" x 40" in size.
All work of exhibition finalists will be available for sale, artists will be asked to nominate a sale price for each entry.
Provide a short blurb about themselves of no more than 50 words. The blurb should consist of your name, your contact details (web link if relevant), the type of work you do, any previous highlights in your artistic career / hobby.

TERMS & CONDITIONS
Participants may enter as many times as they wish.
All artworks must be wholly original and the work of the artist.
Work entered must be considered to be in the genre of photography or digital art (or a combination of the two)

Should anyone wish to buy your artwork, all sales must be printed by Genius Printing at your expense. The first one, displayed at the exhibition, is printed free of charge, and we will offer 10% off our printing prices to print further copies of the artwork.
Genius Printing reserves the right to reproduce (in digital or printed form), your artwork for any promotional material pertaining to the current and future competitions / exhibitions. If we use your image in digital form, your image will either be small or watermarked to protect from copying.
Artists may pick up workfrom Genius Printing, Preston after the closing of the exhibition.
If artist is unable to pick up work they must pay for courier expenses.
If you do not want your artwork after the exhibition it will remain the property of Genius Printing.
Genius Printing can reject any entry for whatever reason. Entry fees fill be refunded.
Employees of Genius Printing, or members of their immediate families are ineligible to enter.

Entry Details, Terms & Conditions
This exhibition is a celebration of the homegrown talent representing the Australian arts community. All images, at a range of prices, will be available for sale throughout the exhibition with proceeds going back to you - the artist. Genius Printing will reproduce all artworks on behalf of the selected artists on a variety of mediums; stretched canvas, Acrylic Ice, Float Mounts, and fine art papers.
Last, but not least, we will be hosting an amazing opening night party. There will be door prizes, plenty of interractive elements to get involved in, and gift bags stuffed with vouchers, freebies and more!
