1. Entrants are deemed to have accepted these terms and conditions when they enter the competition.
2. The promoters are Australian Capital Territory, represented by Australian Capital Tourism, 5/2 Brindabella Circuit, Brindabella Business Park ACT 2609 ABN 37 307 569 373 (collectively referred to as “the Promoters”).
3. The ENLIGHTEN Competition commences Thursday 9 February, 2012 and closes 5pm Australian eastern standard time Friday, 17th February 2012.
4.Employees and contractors of the Promoters or members of their immediate families are ineligible to enter. “Immediate family” means spouse, parent, natural or adopted child, siblings (whether natural or adopted by a parent), whether or not they live in the same household as the employee or contractor.
5.The competition is a game of skill. All submissions are read and assessed by a panel of judges.
6.Entrants must ‘Like’ the Visit Canberra Facebook page. Entrants agree to be automatically subscribed to Australian Capital Tourism’s monthly eNewsletter Discover Unexpected Delights as part of the conditions of entry.
7.To be eligible to enter the competition, entrants must respond to the competition question with an answer in 25 words or less to: which national attraction hosting ENLIGHTEN events is your favourite and why. Entries over 25 words will be eliminated.
8.As a requirement of entry to the competition, you also agree to provide a written account of your ENLIGHTEN weekend experience, including images, where possible. This account will be for Australian Capital Tourism to publish in print and online channels. You may also be requested to post your written account and images to our Facebook wall.
9.In respect to any images submitted by prize winners, copyright remains with the prize winner, but they grant Australian Capital Tourism a licence to publish images online and in print as promotion and reporting of the ENLIGHTEN event.
10.The Promoters are committed to protecting entrant’s privacy. The winner’s details will not be passed on to any third parties.
11.The Promoters will notify the winner via email by Monday, 20 February 2012.
12.The major prize consists of the following:

Three minor prizes will be awarded to three runners up entries consisting of a double pass entry to Flint in the Vines – Shakespeare in the Vines – ‘Much Ado About Nothing’
http://www.flintinthevines.net.au/events.html 13.The Promoters accept no responsibility for any variation of the value of the prize, and reserve their right to substitute another prize, or component of a prize, without notice to the winner.
14.The prize cannot be exchanged for other goods and services, and cannot be redeemed for cash or other goods and services and is not transferrable. If the winner is unable to accept to attend on the given dates, the prize will be awarded to the second place entry.
15.The Promoters will not be responsible for travel arrangements to Canberra, and will not be responsible for travel insurance, spending money, any fuel or ancillary costs incurred by a prize-winner or their travelling companions in accepting the prize.
16.Prizewinner must utilise the prize according to its validity date, otherwise the prizewinner will forfeit that component of their prize and no compensation will be paid in lieu.
17.The Promoters shall not be liable for any loss or damage whatsoever which is suffered (including but not limited to indirect or consequential loss) or for any personal injury suffered or sustained as a consequence of the use and enjoyment of the prizes, except for any liability which cannot be excluded by law (in which case liability will be limited to the minimum allowable by law).
18.To the extent permitted by law, the winner will exclude, release and forever discharge the Promoters and all other persons involved in the conduct promotion and organisation of any component of the prize, and their respective employees, agents, sub-contractors, consultants (including employees of those sub-contractors and consultants) directors, officers and sub-licensees from all liability for claims, loss damage, costs or expenses (whether arising under statute, from negligence, personal injury, death, property damage infringement of third party rights or otherwise) arising from or in connection with the participation in the prize.
19.The Promoters will not be responsible for any error, omission, deletion or defect contained in an entry form, or a delay or failure in the operation or transmission of an entry form, or the theft, destruction, unauthorised access or alteration of an entry.
20.A winner must confirm their receipt of notification within 48 hours otherwise, that winner will forfeit their prize. The person with the next best judged entry will be deemed a winner in lieu of the forfeiting winner and will be notified in accordance with this clause.
21.All entries become and remain the property of the Promoters. The Promoters may use the information contained in an entry as required for the conduct of the competition, the awarding of a prize, and where an entrant has consented on their entry for promotional or marketing purposes.
22.The Promoters may in their complete discretion, vary these terms and conditions or waive compliance with any term or condition, as they consider appropriate.
