As part of Emanuel Synagogue’s 70th birthday celebrations, the congregation decided to put together a different kind of cookbook, one that would reflect both the diversity of the growing congregation, and the diversity of Jewish cooking.
The result – the beautifully illustrated and presented Emanuel Eats – has something for everyone. Hors d’oeuvres are listed (appropriately enough) in a section called “In The Beginning”. “Ah Main” features a range of Ashkenazi and Sephardi main courses, while there are also sections on vegetarian and festival dishes.
From almond biscotti to zucchini pie, there’s plenty in here to whet your appetite.
