CONDITIONS OF ENTRY
Information on how to enter forms part of the terms of entry. Entry into the competition is deemed acceptance of these terms and conditions.
Entry is open to residents of Australia who are 18 years of age or over. However, directors, officers, management, employees and their immediate families of the Promoter and their associated agencies and related companies are not eligible to enter.
The competition will be conducted between 10:00 am AEST on 3 May 2012 and 10:00 am AEST on 24 August 2012 ("Competition Period") however the time by which an entrant must enter this competition will vary according to the AFL team the entrant supports ("Enter By Date").
The Enter By Date for each entrant is dependent on the AFL team they support ("Supporting Team"). Due to the AFL schedule and the operations of the Promoter, each entrant will have a different Enter By Date based on their Supporting Team. The Enter By Dates in relation to each Supporting Team are as follows:

For the avoidance of doubt and by way of example only, if an entrant supports the Western Bulldogs, that entrant would need to enter the competition by midnight AEST on Monday, 2 July 2012, even though the Competition Period ends at 10:00am AEST on 24 August 2012.

Complete and submit a completed competition entry form registering their details including, but not limited to, name, email address, phone number, nearest airport, Supporting Team and answer to the question:
"In 25 words or less tell Virgin Australia why you have to be at your AFL club's away game?" Entry forms must and can only be submitted using the competition entry page on facebook which can be found by going to
www.facebook.com/virginaustralia.
Your entry will be valid until midnight AEST on the Enter By Date for your Supporting Team (. For the avoidance of doubt, if you win a prize during the Competition Period you are not entitled to win another prize during the Competition Period.
The winner will be notified by phone and/or email on the first Tuesday immediately following the Enter By Date for their Supporting Team. For the avoidance of doubt and by way of example only, if the entrant’s Supporting Team is the Sydney Swans, then that entrant would have to enter by midnight AEST on Monday, 21 May 2012. Should that entrant go on to win the prize they would be notified on Tuesday, 22 May 2012 that they have won the prize to attend a Sydney Swans away game (as pre-selected by the Promoter).
The winner must provide the Promoter with the name of their companion when the winner is notified by phone and/or email on the first Tuesday immediately following the Enter By Date for their Supporting Team after which no changes can be made by the winner in relation to their nominated companion.
If the Promoter is unable to make contact with the winner within 24 hours of their entry being selected and announced, the winner’s entry will be deemed invalid and the prize will be re-awarded to the next best valid entry.
Illegible, incomprehensible and incomplete entries will be deemed invalid.
There is no limit to the amount of entries per person, as long as each submission is unique. Entries must be received by midnight AEST on the Enter By Date for the entrant’s Supporting Team during the Competition Period.
The Promoter accepts no responsibility for any late, lost, incomplete, incorrectly submitted, delayed, illegible, corrupted or misdirected entries, claims or correspondence whether due to error, omission, alteration, tampering, deletion, theft, destruction or otherwise including those entries not received by the Promoter.
Entries not fully complying with these conditions of entry may be deemed invalid at the Promoter’s discretion. If the winning entry is deemed not to comply with these conditions of entry, the entry will be discarded and the relevant prize will be re-awarded in accordance with the relevant clause of these conditions of entry as if the discarded entry had not been received.
This is a game of skill and chance plays no part in determining the outcome. The criteria for judging will be based on, among other things, originality, creative merit and relevance. There will be one winner only for each Supporting Team.
The Prizes are:
Eighteen (18) away game packages which each include 2 standard seating tickets to the entrant’s Supporting Team’s away game (the away game is pre-selected by the Promoter), return economy flights for 2 people flying Virgin Australia from the nearest available Virgin Australia port to the pre-selected away game’s location and 1 night's standard room accommodation in a minimum 3 star hotel in the city of the away game’s location. Ground transfers, food and spending money are not included in the prizes and are the responsibility of the winner and must be paid by them. The prize flights are operated on Virgin Australia operated services only. Should the winner already be located at their Supporting Team’s pre-selected away game’s location and not require flights nor accommodation, a $500 Virgin Australia Gift Voucher will be issued instead of return economy flights for 2 people flying Virgin Australia from the nearest available Virgin Australia port to the pre-selected away game’s location and 1 night's standard room accommodation in a minimum 3 star hotel in the city of the away game’s location so that the prize for any winner already located at their Supporting Team’s pre-selected away game’s location will be 2 standard seating tickets to the entrant’s Supporting Team’s away game (the away game is pre-selected by the Promoter) and a $500 Virgin Australia Gift Voucher. Gift Vouchers are redeemable with the Virgin Australia Group, for any scheduled Virgin Australia flight, and any published Blue Holidays package booking (excluding Cruise packages) sold in AUD. Gift Vouchers are to be used pursuant to the terms and conditions available at:

The flights included in the prize are pre-selected flights as selected by the Promoter which will enable the entrant to make it to their Supporting Team’s away game on time. The flights included in the prize cannot be changed and no requests to change the pre-selected flights will be allowed by the Promoter.
The Promoter will provide the winner by email with an itinerary for the winner and their companions’ flights and details in relation to their AFL tickets and accommodation as soon as possible after notifying the winner that they have won but in any event before the departure of the pre-selected flight to the pre-selected Supporting Team away game location.
Average total prize value per prize is up to $2,000 AUD (including GST). Flights are subject to Virgin Australia’s terms and conditions of carriage which are located on the Virgin Australia website and can be found at

If for any reason, the winner and their companion do not, once the flight has been booked, take the flight at the time stipulated, then their flight will be forfeited and will not be redeemed for cash.
The winner and their companion are responsible for all other expenses including spending money, meals, drinks, transfers, laundry charges, activities, incidentals, taxes, energy surcharges, gratuities, service charges, passports, visas, travel insurance and all other ancillary costs. Travel insurance is highly recommended to protect against the additional costs incurred in the event of unforeseen circumstances.
The winner and travelling companions must travel at the same time, must depart from the same port and return back to the same port and are responsible for transport to and from their residence to their departure port for flight departure and arrival.
All Airport, Government taxes and levies are the responsibility of the winner and their companion.
Neither the winner nor their companion can redeem points with Velocity, Virgin Australia’s frequent flyer program, for the flights.
It is the winner and their companion’s personal responsibility to ensure that they have requisite visas, vaccinations, valid documentation (including but not limited to valid passports and visas) which meet the requirements of immigration and other government authorities at every destination. Any fines, penalties, payments or expenditures incurred as a result of such documents not meeting the requirements of those authorities will be the sole responsibility of the winner and their companion.
The Promoter makes no representation as to the safety, conditions or other issues that may exist at any destination.
In the event that for any reason whatsoever, a winner does not take the prize or an element of the prize at the time stipulated by the Promoter then the prize or that element of the prize will be forfeited by the winner and will not be redeemable for cash.
Prize values are based upon recommended retail prices at the time of printing (inclusive of GST). The Promoter accepts no responsibility for any change in prize value between now and the ultimate prize redemption date or for any change in prize value as a result of the winner being located at their Supporting Team’s pre-selected away game’s location./li>
One (1) winner will be judged from all entries received per Supporting Team by the relevant Enter By Date by a judging panel at Virgin Australia at 56 Edmondstone Road, Bowen Hills QLD 4006 on the first Tuesday immediately following the Enter By Date for each Supporting Team. All decisions of the Promoter are final and no discussions or correspondence will be entered into.
Prizes will be awarded to the person named in the entry.
Should an entrant’s contact details change during the Competition Period , it is the entrant’s responsibility to notify the Promoter. A request to access or modify any information provided in an entry should be directed to the Promoter.
The Promoter’s decision is final and the Promoter will not enter into correspondence regarding the competition result.
It is a condition of accepting the prize that the winner must comply with all the conditions of use of the prize and the prize supplier’s requirements.
It is a condition of accepting the prize that the winner may be required to sign a legal release in a form determined by the Promoter in its absolute discretion.
By accepting the prize, the winner agrees to participate in and co-operate as required with all reasonable media editorial requests relating to the prize, including but not limited to, being interviewed and photographed, filmed and /or chaperoned throughout the duration of the prize.
In consideration for the Promoter awarding the prize to the winner, the winner hereby assigns to the Promoter, all right, title and interest in and to all copyright in any material created pursuant to the winner’s participation in any aspect of the prize (“Works”). The winner acknowledges that the Promoter is free to use the Works and to exercise its rights in relation thereto and the winner will not be entitled to any fee for such use.
In consideration for the Promoter awarding the prize to the winner, the winner hereby permits the winner’s image and/or voice, as recorded, photographed or filmed during the winner’s participation in the prize to appear in any media whatsoever throughout the world for an unlimited period and the winner will not be entitled to any fee for such use.
The Promoter reserves the right to request winners to provide proof of identity, proof of age, proof of residency and/or proof of entry validity in order to claim a prize. Proof of identification, residency, age and entry considered suitable for verification is at the discretion of the Promoter. In the event that a winner cannot provide suitable proof, the winner will forfeit the prize in whole and no substitute will be offered.
The Promoter reserves the right to verify the validity of entries and to disqualify any entry which in the opinion of the Promoter, includes objectionable content, profanity, potentially insulting, inflammatory or defamatory statements, disqualify any entrant who tampers with the entry process, who submits an entry that is not in accordance with these Terms & Conditions of Entry or who has, in the opinion of the Promoter, engaged in conduct in entering the competition which is fraudulent, misleading, deceptive or generally damaging to the goodwill or reputation of the competition and/or the Promoter. The Promoter reserves the right to disqualify a winner if the Promoter becomes aware that the winner and/or the winner’s entry is of a type described in this clause. Any entrant disqualified under this clause is prohibited from any further participation in the competition.
Prizes (including, but not limited to, flights, AFL tickets and accommodation) are non-refundable, non- transferable, non-endorseable and cannot be redeemed for cash or in the case of flights, used for travel on another airline.
The Promoter accepts no responsibility for any variation in prize value. If a prize is unavailable, for whatever reason, the Promoter reserves the right to substitute for the prize a prize of equal or greater value, subject to State Regulation.
The Promoter reserves the right to refuse to allow a winner to take part in any or all aspects of the prize, if the Promoter determines, in their absolute discretion, that a winner is not in the mental or physical condition necessary to be able to safeyly participate in the prize. It is a condition of accepting the prize that the winner may be required to sign a legal release in a form determined by the Promoter in its absolute discretion.
In the case of the intervention of any outside act, agent or event which prevents or significantly hinders the Promoter’s ability to proceed with the competition on the dates and in the manner described in these terms and conditions, including but not limited to vandalism, power failures, tempests, natural disasters, acts of God, civil unrest, strike, war, act of terrorism, the Promoter may in its absolute discretion cancel the competition and recommence it from the start on the same conditions, subject to any written directions given under State Regulation.
Except for liability that cannot be excluded by law, the Promoter, its associated agencies and companies (and their respective officers, employees and agents) exclude all liability (including negligence) for any personal injury or death, expense, or any loss or damage (including loss of opportunity or profits, whether direct, indirect, special or consequential) arising in any way in connection with this competition or any prize/s. The Promoter is not responsible for any incorrect or inaccurate information, either caused by the phone or internet user or for any of the equipment or programming associated with or utilised in this competition, or for any technical error, or any combination thereof that may occur in the course of the administration of this competition including any omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or transmission, communications line, internet or telephone, mobile or satellite network failure, theft or destruction or unauthorised access to or alteration of entries.
Without limiting the previous paragraph, the Promoter and its associated agencies and companies will not be liable for any damage or delay in transit to prizes.
The Promoter reserves the right in its sole discretion to disqualify any individual who the Promoter has reason to believe has breached any of these conditions, or engaged in any unlawful or other improper misconduct calculated to jeopardise the fair and proper conduct of this promotion. Any entrant disqualified under this clause is prohibited from any further participation in the competition. The Promoter’s legal rights to recover damages or other compensation from such an offender are reserved.
The Promoter and their associated agencies and companies assume no responsibility for any error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or transmission, communications line failure, internet failure, theft or destruction or unauthorised access to, or alteration of entries, and reserves the right to take any action that may be available.
If for any reason this competition is not capable of running as planned, including due to infection by computer virus, communications network failure, bugs, tampering, unauthorised intervention, fraud, technical failure or any causes beyond the control of the Promoter, which corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness or integrity or proper conduct of this competition, the Promoter reserves the right in its sole discretion to disqualify any individual who tampers with the entry process, take any action that may be available and to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the competition, or invalidate any affected entries, subject to any written direction given under State Regulation.
The Promoter is not liable for any tax implications arising from prize winnings. Independent financial advice should be sought as tax implications may arise as a result of accepting the prize.
All entries become the property of the Promoter. The information entrants provide will be used by the Promoter for the purpose of conducting this competition and otherwise in accordance with the Promoter’s Privacy Policy (available at

The Promoter may disclose entrants’ personal information to its contractors and agents to assist in conducting this competition or communicating with entrants. The Promoter is bound by the National Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988. Entrants can request access to the personal information the Promoter holds about them by contacting the Promoter at the address below.
By entering the competition, unless otherwise advised, each entrant also agrees that the Promoter may use their personal information, in any media for future promotional, marketing and publicity purposes without any further reference, payment or other compensation to the entrant, including sending the entrant electronic messages.
Entrant’s personal information may be disclosed to State and Territory lottery departments and winners’ names published as required under the relevant lottery legislation. A request to access, update or correct any information should be directed to the Promoter.
