Terms and Conditions
1. Information on how to enter the Dancing with the Stars: Keep Dancing: Competition (the “Competition” will form part of the terms of entry. Entry into the Competition will constitute full acceptance of the terms and conditions of the Competition by the entrant.
2. The Competition is a game of skill in which chance will play no part in determining the winner.
3. Entry to the Competition is open to all residents of Australia.
4. Employees, and the immediate families of employees of BBC WORLDWIDE AUSTRALIA PTY LTD and Salmat IDR Pty Ltd, and their associated agencies and companies are not eligible to enter the Competition
5. Entrants of the Competition must be at least 18 years of age.
6. The Competition commences on Monday 28 May 2012 at 12:00 (AEST) and concludes on Thursday 7 June 2012 at 17:00 (AEST) (the “Promotion Period””).
7. To lodge a valid entry in the Competition, a participant must, during the Promotion Period;
a) Log on to bbcaustralia.com/dwtskeepdancing (the “website”); and
b) answer in 25 words or less, ‘Which celebrity should win this year’s Dancing with the Stars and why?’; and
c) complete all of the required data fields on the entry form and agree to the terms and conditions of the Competition.
8. Entries that are incomplete, incomprehensible, or contain errors within the required data fields of the entry form will be deemed invalid entries.
9. Entry into the Competition is limited to one entry per person over the entire Promotion Period.
10. BBC Worldwide Australia Pty Ltd ( the “Promoter) reserves the right to request the winners of the Competition to provide proof of identity, proof of residency at the nominated prize delivery address and/or proof of entry validity (including phone bill or store receipt for purchase requirement) in order to claim a prize. Proof of identification, residency and entry considered suitable for verification is at the discretion of the Promoter. In the event that a winner cannot provide suitable proof, the winner will forfeit the prize in whole and no substitute will be offered.
11. The Promoter reserves the right to verify the validity of entries and to disqualify any entry which, in the opinion of Promoter, includes objectionable content, profanity, potentially insulting, inflammatory or defamatory statements, disqualify any entrant who tampers with the entry process, who submits an entry that is not in accordance with the terms and conditions of the Competition or who has, in the opinion of Promoter, engaged in conduct in entering the Competition which is fraudulent, misleading, deceptive or generally damaging to the goodwill or reputation of the Competition and/or the Promoter. The Promoter reserves the right to disqualify a winner if Promoter becomes aware that the winner and/or the winner’s entry is of a type described in this clause.
12. Entries must be received by 17:00 (AEST) on Thursday 7 June 2012. The time of entry will in each case be the time the online entry is received by the Promoter’s database. The Promoter accepts no responsibility for any late, lost or misdirected entries due to technical disruptions, network congestion or for any other reason.
13. Entrants must make their entries manually using an internet browser. The Promoter may reject an entry if it reasonably forms the opinion that the entry has been made using automated entry means or by use of a computer entry service.
14. Any entry that is made on behalf of an entrant by a third party, or otherwise by proxy, will be invalid.
15. The cost of accessing the Website will be dependent on the entrant’s individual Internet Service Provider.
16. There is one (1) Major Prize (the “Major Prize”). The Major Prize is valued at a maximum of $2,570* and includes:
• Two (2) return economy airfares for two (2) adults (including taxes) from the airport of the nearest Australian capital city to the winner’s place of residence, to Melbourne, valued at a maximum of $1,560*
• Return airport transfers for (2) two people from the Melbourne airport to which the winner and their companion arrive, to the place of accommodation to be confirmed by BBCWA , valued at a maximum of $290
• Twin-share accommodation for the winner and their companion, for one (1) night, Sunday 17th June 2012, in four star accommodation to be confirmed by BBCWA, in Melbourne CBD, inclusive of breakfast for two (2) people, valued at a maximum of $480.
• Two (2) x tickets to the 2012 Dancing with the Stars Finale.
• Return transfers from the place of accommodation to be confirmed by BBCWA to the Dancing with the Stars finale, and meet and greet with Carmelo Pizzino, valued at a maximum of $240.
*This cost is an indication of the potential maximum value of the Prize. The final cost of the Prize will be dependent on the winner’s place of residence and the final cost of the domestic flights required in the Major Prize.
17. It is condition of accepting the Major Prize that the winner must comply with all the standard Peregrine booking terms and conditions. Additional terms and conditions will be stipulated at the time that the Major Prize is delivered.
18. The Major Prize cannot be transferred, refunded or exchanged and cannot be redeemed for cash.
19. The winner (and their companion) are responsible for all other expenses including spending money, meals (unless specified), drinks, transfers (unless specified), laundry charges, activities (unless specified), incidentals, taxes (excluding departure and any other flight associated taxes included within the prize), energy surcharges, gratuities, services charges, passports, visas, travel insurance and all other ancillary costs.
20. Travel insurance is not included in the cost of the Major Prize and is required to protect against the additional costs incurred in the event of unforeseen circumstances.
21. The winner and travelling companion must travel at the same time, must depart from the same capital city and are responsible for transport from their residence to their nearest capital city for flight departure.
22. The major prize must be taken on Sunday 17 June 2012 as specified by the promoter and to coincide with the dates of the Dancing with the Stars finale. The major prize is for the specified dates of the event only. If the winner and travelling companions are, for whatever reason, unable to travel or do not take an element of the major prize within the time stipulated by the Promoter then the prize will be forfeited and cash will not be awarded in lieu of the major prize.
23. Air tickets are available on the regular scheduled services of each airline and are subject to seasonal embargos. Flight itinerary may have to be adjusted depending on the airlines departure city and their current flight schedule. Frequent Flyer points are not available from any airline.
24. A credit card imprint or cash deposit may be required from the winner at check-in to the hotel, for all incidental charges. Once accommodation vouchers are issued they are non-changeable.
25. It is the sole responsibility of the winner of the Competition and their companion to ensure that they have valid documentation, including but not limited to valid passports and visas, which meet the requirements of immigration and other government authorities at every destination that may be included as a result of fulfilling the Major Prize. Any fines, penalties, payments or expenditures incurred as a result of such documents not meeting the requirements of those authorities will be the sole responsibility of the traveller/s.
26. BBC WORLDWIDE AUSTRALIA PTY LTD, Salmat IDR Pty Limited and Granted Worldwide make no representation as to the safety, conditions or other issues that may exist at any destination. International travel advice can be obtained from various sources, including government, local consular offices and the web site of the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade.
27. If the Major Prize is unavailable, for whatever reason, the Promoter reserves the right to substitute the prize for a prize of equal or greater value.
28. One (1) Major Prize Winner will be judged from all valid entries received through the Promotion Period. The judging will take place at BBC WORLDWIDE AUSTRALIA PTY LTD, Level 5, 6 Eden Park Drive, Macquarie Park NSW 2113, Australia, at 12:00 (AEST) on Friday 8 June 2012. The winner will be the entrant who, in the sole opinion of the judges, has submitted the entry which best meets the judging criteria.
29. The winner will be notified within two days of the judging of the Competition. The winner will be notified in writing that they have won the Major Prize. The Promoter reserves the right to announce the winner via their Facebook page

If the prize remains unclaimed by the winner or unallocated or forfeited for any reason, by 11:00 (AEST) on Tuesday 12 June 2012, the prize will be re-allocated to the entrant that has submitted the entry which best meets the judging criteria excluding the entrant that has failed to claim the prize. This unclaimed Major Prize judging will take place at BBC WORLDWIDE AUSTRALIA PTY LTD, Level 5, 6 Eden Park Drive, Macquarie Park NSW 2113, Australia, at 12:00 (AEST) on Wednesday 13 June 2012. The Winner of the unclaimed prize judging will be notified in writing within 2 day of this judging
31. The Major Prize will be awarded to the person named in the entry.
32. The Promoter reserves the right to refuse to allow a winner to take part in any or all aspects of the prize, if the Promoter determines, in their absolute discretion, that a winner is not in the mental or physical condition necessary to be able to safely participate in the Major Prize. It is a condition of accepting the prize that the winner may be required to sign a legal release in a form determined by the Promoter in its absolute discretion.
33. Once the Major Prize has left the Promoter’s premises, the Promoter takes no responsibility for prizes damaged, delayed or lost in transit.
34. By accepting the Major Prize, the winner agrees to participate in and co-operate as required with all reasonable media editorial requests relating to the prize, including but not limited to, being interviewed and photographed, filmed and/or chaperoned throughout the duration of the prize.
35. In consideration for the Promoter awarding the Major Prize to the winner, the winner hereby assigns to the Promoter all right, title and interest in and to all copyright in any material created pursuant to the winner’s participation in any aspect of the Major Prize (the “Works”). The winner acknowledges that the Promoter is free to use the Works and to exercise its rights in relation thereto and the winner will not be entitled to any fee for such use.
36. In consideration for the Promoter awarding the Major Prize to the winner, the winner hereby permits the winner’s image and/or voice, as recorded, photographed or filmed during the winner’s participation in the Major Prize to appear in connection with the advertising or marketing thereof, in any media whatsoever throughout the world and the winner will not be entitled to any fee for such use.
37. In the event that for any reason whatsoever a winner does not claim an element of the Major Prize at the time stipulated by the Promoter then that element of the Major Prize will be forfeited by the winner and cash will not be awarded in lieu of that element of the Major Prize.
38. The value of the Major Prize is specified in Australian Dollars based upon the recommended retail prices at the commencement of the Promotion Period. The Promoter accepts no responsibility for a change in the Major Prize value between the commencement of the Promotion Period and the Major Prize redemption date.
39. Independent financial advice should be sought as tax implications may arise as a result of accepting the Major Prize.
40. Should an entrant’s contact details change during the Promotional Period, it is the entrant's responsibility to notify the Promoter. A request to access or modify any information provided in an entry should be directed to the Promoter.
41. The Promoter’s decision is final and the Promoter will not enter into correspondence regarding the Competition result.
42. It is a condition of accepting the Major Prize that the winner may be required to sign a legal release in a form determined by the Promoter in its absolute discretion.
43. In the case of the intervention of any outside act, agent or event which prevents or significantly hinders the Promoter’s ability to proceed with the competition on the dates and in the manner described in these terms and conditions, including but not limited to vandalism, power failures, tempests, natural disasters, acts of God, civil unrest, strike, war, act of terrorism, the Promoter may in its absolute discretion cancel the Competition and recommence it from the start on the same conditions.
44. The Promoter shall not be liable for any loss or damage whatsoever which is suffered (including but not limited to indirect or consequential loss) or for any personal injury suffered or sustained in connection with the Major Prize except for any liability which cannot be excluded by law. The Promoter is not responsible for any incorrect or inaccurate information, either caused by the phone user or for any of the equipment or programming associated with or utilised in the Competition, or for any technical error, or any combination thereof that may occur in the course of the administration of this competition including any omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or transmission, communications line or telephone, mobile or satellite network failure, theft or destruction or unauthorised access to or alteration of entries.
45. The Promoter reserves the right in its sole discretion to disqualify any individual who the Promoter has reason to believe has breached any of these conditions, or engaged in any unlawful or other improper misconduct calculated to jeopardise the fair and proper conduct of the promotion. The Promoter’s legal rights to recover damages or other compensation from such an offender are reserved.
46. BBC WORLDWIDE AUSTRALIA PTY LTD, Salmat IDR Pty Limited and their associated agencies and companies assume no responsibility for any error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or transmission, communications line failure, theft or destruction or unauthorised access to, or alteration of entries, and reserves the right to take any action that may be available.
47. If for any reason the Competition is not capable of running as planned, including due to infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorised intervention, fraud, technical failures or any causes beyond the control of the Promoter, which corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness or integrity or proper conduct of this promotion, the Promoter reserves the right in its sole discretion to disqualify any individual who tampers with the entry process, take any action that may be available, and to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the competition.
48. All entries become the property of the Promoter. The Promoter collects personal information about you to enable you to participate in this promotion but no further use of this information will be made without prior consent. All opt-in entries will be entered into a database and The Promoter may use the entrant’s names, addresses and telephone numbers for future promotional, marketing and publicity purposes in any media worldwide without notice and without any fee being paid unless otherwise advised by the entrant. By opting-in, entrants confirm that they allow their details to be used for this purpose. If entrants no longer consent to their details being used for future marketing purposes, the entrant should contact The Promoter on their details set out below. Any request to update, modify or delete the entrant’s details should be directed to The Promoter.
