It had to happen—it was so obvious, I’m surprised it took so long for a top-end hotel to come up with the idea. But at last, you lucky, lucky Sydneysiders, here it is; high coffee for those who, like me, simply don’t understand the appeal of tea.
Located in the historic Treasury Building, now the InterContinental Sydney hotel, in Macquarie Street, High Coffee is served in the Cortile Bar and Lounge. Here you can meet the barista and indulge your senses with specially matched savouries and coffee. The High Coffee experience commences with an Espresso di Manfredi Spice Martini, matched to gourmet sandwiches. Next on the list is a chilled Café Freddo to accompany warm sweet and savoury taste treats, including Belgian waffles and chocolate and espresso crepes. Desserts follow with barrista recommendations for the best coffee match.
Priced at $55, this is definitely a treat for a special occasion—perhaps a milestone celebration of friends and/or lovers? With a major wedding anniversary on the horizon, this is a heavy, heavy hint.
