Martin Donovan – the acclaimed actor you’ll likely recognise from the filmography of Hal Hartley, or for marrying Mary Louise Parker as DEA Agent Peter Scottson in Weeds – recently released his screenwriting and directorial debut Collaborator. An intelligent political parable about class, celebrity, the media and the dangerous divide between liberals and conservatives in modern America, the film stars Donovan as a famous playwright who ends up being taken hostage after a quiet beer with his right wing childhood neighbour. It’s whip-smart, superbly acted, and premiering in Australia at the Possible Worlds Film Festival, 8:30pm on Wednesday 15 August at Dendy Opera Quays. Martin Donovan will be in Sydney to present the Australian premiere of his film.
